Objective To investigate the way of closed establishment of pneumoperitoneum(CEPP) in patients with peritoneal cvity adhesion in laparoscopy cholecystectomy(LC). Methods CEPP experiences of 1046 patients in 6600 cases LC in our hospital from September 1991 to September 1999 were retrospectively analysed. The difficulty in establishing pneumoperitoneum was divided into two kinds: real establishment pneumoperitoneal difficulty(REPPD) and false establishment pneumoperitoneal difficulty(FEPPD). REPPD was due to Veress needle penetrating into visceral or extensive adhesion in peritoneal cavity resulting in CO2 flowing into difficulty. FEPPD was due to Veress needle pentrating in the fat out of peritoneum, in round hepatic ligament or in greater omentum. The formal situation needed to open laparotomy as a change, and the latter situation could establish pneumoperitoneum successfully by regulating the Veress needle penetrating direction or depth in the second penetration. Results Of the 1046 patients, 1028 cases had been establishedpneumoperitoneum successfully though CEPP; 6 cases of REPPD and 18 of FEPPD were required opening laparotomy as a change. The successful rate of CEPP was 98.3%. Conclusions CEPP is a safe and feasible method in patients with peritoneal adhesion in LC. It is the main reason for CEPP failure regarding REPPED as FEPPD made by the deficiency in LC experience and loss confidence in laparoscopist.

Objective To summarize the diagnosis and treatment in neonatal cow’s milk protein allergy (CMPA) with sepsis like initial symptom. Methods CMPA patients with the sepsis like initial symptom (n=10) were selected in our hospital from July 2009 to December 2013. History data, clinical manifestation, laboratory results and the treatment outcome of them were retrospectively analyzed. Results Among these 10 cases, 6 have family history of allergy. Main clinical mani-festations include skin, gastrointestinal symptoms and 1 case of anaphylactic shock. IgE mediated 6 cases with acidophilic cells count of (1.40±0.17)×109/L (5%); The rest 4 cases were not mediated by IgE, with acidophilic cells count of (0.71± 0.08)×109/L (0.02-0.03). Blood cultures were all negative;Blood leukocyte count is (24.5±3.3)×109/L;Rod nucleus granulo-cyte/neutrophils count is (0.161±0.035) ×109/L;The platelet count is (655±39)×109/L;Blood interleukin (IL)-6 is 0.31-0.93μg/L;C reactive protein (CRP) is 85-144 mg/L. All 10 cases were with extensively hydrolyzed formular or amino acid formu-lar feeding. Then their clinical symptoms improved or disappeared significantly and the inflammatory indexes returned to nor-mal. Conclusion It is necessary to make the differential diagnosis between sepsis and neonatal CMPA,which is accompa-nied by increased platelet and acidophil. The most effective treatment of neonatal CMPA is hypoallergenic formular replace-ment therapy.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2002;19(1):172-177
To explore a new method for analyzing biological molecules that have already been sequenced, an experimental study on an auditory method was carried out. The auditory method for analyzing biological molecules includes audible representation of sequence data. Audible representation of sequence data was implemented by using a multimedia computer. Each mononucleotide in a DNA sequence was matched with a corresponding sound, i.e., a DNA sequence was "dubbed" in a sound sequence. When the sound sequence is played, a special cadence can be heard. In the audible representation experiment, special cadences of different exons can be clearly heard. The results show that audible representation of DNA sequence data can be implemented by using a multimedia technique. After a 5-time auditory training, subjects both in internal testing and external testing can obtain 93%-100% of judgment accuracy rate for the difference between two sound sequences of two different exons, thus providing an experimental basis for the practicability of this method. Auditory method for analyzing DNA segments might be beneficial for the research in comparative genomics and functional genomics. This new technology must be robust and be carefully evaluated and improved in a high-throughput environment before its implementation in an application setting.

Background Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of blindness worldwide;while the different types of glaucoma is vary from different region. Objective Present study was to survey the prevalence and types of glaucoma among peasants of Uigur adults in Kuche county and offer the basis for the prevent and treatment of glaucoma in Uigur nationanlity. Methods 4191 Uigur peasants aged 40 years or above were collected in Kuche county for the survey of prevalence and types of glaucoma by randomized cluster sampling in March and April of 2009. The subjects were grouped into 40-,50-,60- and ≥70 years groups according to the distribution of age. The disease history of glaucoma, regular eye examination, funds examination and measurement of the anterior chamber depth, gonioscope were performed in the all subjects. Darkroom prone test and mydriasis test were carried out in suspicious glaucomous patients. The depth of periphery anterior chamber was assessed based on van Herick' s criteria, and the width of chamber angle was graded based on Scheie' s method. The standardized training was performed. This survey approved by Xinjiang Medical Ethics Committee, all subjects signed the informed consent before the examination. Results 4191 of 4873 subjects finished all the examinations with the response rate 86%. All the subjects showed a good compliance. The prevalence of glaucoma was 3. 79% , and the prevalence of primary angle-closed glaucoma(PACG) .primary angle-open glaucoma (PAOG) and secondary glaucoma was 2.22% ,0.26% and 1. 31% respectively, showing a significant difference among the different types of glaucoma( P<0. 05). The prevalence of glaucoma was elevated with aging (χ2 - 116. 69 ,P<0. 05) and presented a high rate in male subjects compared with female ones(χ2 = 7. 34, P<0. 05 ). Bilateral blindness was found in 19.75% glaucoma peasants, in which 25.3% glaucoma peasants received anti-glaucoma surgery. The distribution of visual acuity of patients was of significant difference among different age groups(χ2 = 37. 69 ,P<0. 05 ) . Conclusions The prevalence of the glaucoma among Uigur peasants in Kuche county was higher than most area no matter inland or overseas. PACG still is the common type in those people.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the relationship between the stages of calcification of the third molar and age among children in Chengdu.
METHODSThe study subjects consisted of children between 2009 and 2011 at the Department of Orthodontics, West China Hospital of Stomatology, Sichuan University. Panoramic radiographs were obtained. The stages of calcification of the third molar were analyzed by Demirjian's method. The development of the third molar between the male and female was evaluated by independent samples t-test analysis. The Spearman rank correlation was applied to analyze the stages of calcification of the third molar and chronological age.
RESULTSThe development of the third molar of the male was different from that of the female at stage A of calcification of the third molar(P=0.026). The Spearman rank correlation coefficient revealed highly significant relationships between the stages of calcification of the third molar and chronological age of the three groups (male, r=0.808, P=0.000; female, r= 0.729, P=0.000; all, r=0.760, P=0.000). Furthermore, the linear regression equations were established as follows: Yall= 4.898+2.036X: Ymale=4.987+2.046X; Yfemale=4.819+2.036X.
CONCLUSIONThe stages of calcification of the third molar may be an available indicator in judging chronological age of teenager.
