Objective To explore the association between epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) thickness and left ventricular remodeling,left ventricular dysfunction in dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM).Methods One hundred and sixteen patients with DCM (DCM group) and 76 healthy subjects (control group) were examined by ultrasoundcardiogram.Left ventricular end-systolic diameter (LVESD),left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVEDD),left ventricular end-systolic volume (LVESV),left ventricular end-diastolic volume (LVEDV),left ventricular end-systolic volume index (LVESVI),left ventficular end-diastolic volume index (LVEDVI),left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and EAT thickness were measured or calculated,and the relationship was evaluated.Results EAT thickness in DCM group was significantly lower than that in control group [(4.7 ± 1.2) mm vs.(7.6 ± 2.1) mm],and there was statistical difference (P ＜ 0.05).The linear correlation analysis results showed there was positive correlation between EAT thickness and LVESD,LVEDD,LVESV,LVEDV,LVEDVI,LVESVI (r =0.236,0.220,0.245,0.256,0.282,0.279,P ＜ 0.05),and there was no relationship between EAT thickness and LVEF (r =0.134,P ＞0.05).Conclusions In patients with DCM,there is a correlation between EAT thickness and ventricular remodeling.There is no correlation between EAT thickness and left ventricular dysfunction.

Objective To compare the clinical effect of C3F8 and air tamponade after vitrectomy for the treatment of idiopathic macular hole (IMH).Methods A total of 54 eyes of 54 patients with IMH that had undergone 23G pars plana vitrectomy with internal limiting membrane peeling were retrospectively studied.All patients received optical coherence tomography ()CT) examination and the best corrected visual acuity (BCVA).They were divided into 2 groups.26 eyes in group A were filled with air and 28 eyes in group B were filled with C3F8.In group A,6 eyes at stage Ⅱ,20 eyes at stage Ⅲ,the minimum diameter (Dmin) of macular hole in 14 eyes was less than 400 μm,and in the other eyes was larger than 400 μm.In group B,10 eyes at stage Ⅱ,18 eyes at stage Ⅲ,the Dmin of macular hole in 15 eyes was less than 400 μm,and in the other eyes was larger than 400 μm.The differences of age,course of the disease,BCVA,fundus diameter,Dmin,height,index,diameter of outer retina diameter (Dord) between the two groups were not significant (P＞0.05).The basic data before surgery and the closure rate,BCVA,Dord 1 month after surgery between two groups were compared.Results At 1 month after surgery,the IMH closure rate was 100.0％ in group A and 92.9％ in group B,the difference between these two groups was not significant (P=0.491).The closure rate of eyes with Dmin＜400 μm were both 100.0％ in two groups,and the closure rate of eyes with Dmin＞400 μm were 100.0％ in group A and 84.6％ in group B.There was no statistically significant differences between two groups (P =0.480).The mean BCVA of two groups were 0.35±0.22 and 0.33 ±0.16 respectively.The mean Dord were (782.2 ± 478.0) μm and(792.1 ± 432.7) μm respectively.All cases got better BCVA (t=-7.310,-10.506;P＜0.01) and shorter Dord (t=6.704,7.770;P＜0.01).But there was no statistically significant differences between groups 1 month after surgery in BCVA and Dord (t =0.381,0.800;P =0.705,0.937).Conclusion Air tamponade after vitrectomy has the same efficacy as C3 F8 tamponade in the treatment of IMH.

Objective To identify Mallotus panicutus (lam) Muell.Arg and explore the acute toxicity.Methods Pharmacognostic identification and chemical reaction methods were adopted to the identification.The maximum concentration and maximum volume of ethanol extracts of M.panicutus (lam) Muell.Arg were given via intragastric administration in mice to observe the toxic and side effects after 14 days.Results The chemical reaction showed M.panicutus(lam) Muell.Arg concluded the constituents such as flavone and saponin and there was no acute toxicity in mice.After 14 days,the growth rate of mice weight of blank group and drug group were 73.5% and 62.9% (P ＞ 0.05).Conclusion The results could be taken as the reference for analyzing the quality of this drug and guiding the clinical medication.

Objective To evaluate the diastole asynchrony of the different segments of left ventricle(LV) and its relation with LV diastole function in the patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) by quantitative tissue velocity imaging(QTVI).Methods Forteen normal controls,15 patients with non-obstructive HCM (HCM) and 12 patients with obstructive HCM (HOCM) were studied by QTVI.The regional velocity profiles of 18 segments of LV and mitral annulus of six walls along LV apical long axis view,apical two chamber view and four chamber view were obtained.The time (T_ Q-E ) from onset of QRS complexes to peak velocity during early diastole were measured.The maximal difference in T_ Q-E with in the same wall (Intra-?T_ Q-E ),the same segment (Inter-?T_ Q-E ),all 18 segments (Max-?T_ Q-E ) of LV and the mean ratio of mitral annulus early and late diastole peak velocity of six walls were calculated(Ea/Aa′).Interventricular septum basic thickness(IVSTh) and LV outflow tract gradient(LVOTPG) were measured.Results Inter-?T_ Q-E ,Intra-?T_ Q-E ,Max-?T_ Q-E were significantly prolonged and Ea/Aa′ was reduced in HCM and HOCM groups compared with control group.There was no statistically significant difference of Inter-?T_ Q-E ,Intra-?T_ Q-E ,Max-?T_ Q-E ,Ea/Aa′ between HCM and HOCM groups.In control group,HCM group,HOCM group,IVSTh and LVOTPG were increased little by little.Max-?T_ Q-E were correlated negatively with Ea/Aa′ in patients with HCM and HOCM.IVSTh and LVOTPG were mildly correlated with Ea/Aa′ in HOCM group,but not correlated with Ea/Aa′ in HCM.Conclusions Asynchrony diastole is a neccessary factor causing impairment of LV diastole function exists within the same wall and the same segment of LV in patients with HCM,but IVSTh and LVOTPG is not a neccessary factor causing impairment of LV diastole function.Asynchrony diastole in patients with HCM could be an appereance of cardiomyopathy.

Objective To evaluate the asynchrony of right ventricle(RV) and its significance in idiopathic pulmonary artery hypertension(IPAH) patients by quantitative tissue velocity imaging.Methods Twenty-five normal people,26 IPAH patients were studied.RV structure parameter(thickness of lateral wall,late diastolic and systolic area and fractional area change) and function parameter [peak systolic velocity(Sa),early diastolic velocity(Ea),late diastolic velocity of tricuspid annulus of lateral wall and Tei index] were measured and calculated.Regional velocity profiles of 6 segments of RV were obtained.The time from onset of QRS complexes to Sa and Ea(T_(Q-S),T_(Q-E)) of 6 segments were measured.The maximal difference in T_(Q-S) and T_(Q-E) in the same wall(Intra-?T_(Q-S),Intra-?T_(Q-E)),the same segment(Inter-?T_(Q-S),Inter-?T_(Q-E)) and all 6 segments(Max-?T_(Q-S),Max-?T_(Q-E)) were calculated.Results Compared with controls,Inter-?T_(Q-S),Inter-?T_(Q-E),Max-?T_(Q-S) and Max-?T_(Q-E) were significantly prolonged in IPAH patients(P(0.05)).Max-?T_(Q-S) and Max-?T_(Q-E) were correlated with structure and function parameter in IPAH patients.Conclusions Asynchrony exists in RV and have good relation with RV structure and function in IPAH patients.
