Objective To investigate the risk factors for death within 30 days of stroke associated pneumonia(SAP) in elderly patients of the intensive care unit (ICU).Methods Clinical data of 116 patients with SAP who were admitted to ICU were reviewed. The predicting factors of death within 30 days were analyzed through variable analysis method. Results The hospitalization periods of the SAP group and control group were (27±8) d and (12±5) d,the difference was statistically significant(t =1 1.30,P =0.002).The most common pathogenic bacteria in SAP were Klebsiella pneumoniae,Bauman Acinetobacter,Escherichia coli, and gram negative bacteria. There was significant difference between the two groups in term of mortality rate(37.9%(44/ 116) of SAP group,22.0% (22/100) of control group,x2 =6.423,P =0.011).Logistic regression analysis showed that basic diseases(OR =2.778,95% CI:1.205-6.401),high CRUB-65 score (OR =1.978,95% CI:0.871-11.098),lower Glasgow coma score(GCS) (OR=3.601,95%CI:0.244-9.477),bucking(OR=3.020,95%CI:1.305-10.603),mechanical ventilation(OR=2.654,95%CI:1.176-5.990),shock(OR=2.636,95% CI:1.164-5.969) and high plasma CRP level(OR=2.333,95%CI:1.046-5.206) were risk factors for SAP (all P<0.05).In Cox regression analysis,a GCS score of < 9 was an independent risk factor for 30 d mortality of patientswithSAP(HR=7.23,95%Cl:2.24-20.11,P=0.001).Conclusion SAP is one of the serious complications of the elderly hospitalized for the acute stroke in the ICU,which may affect the prognosis of the patients.

This study was aimed to explore the relationship between atrophic lung disease and modern medicine diseases through the study of experiences of modern famous doctors of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in the treatment of atrophic lung disease. Literatures which met the inclusion criteria were retrieved from the existing Lung Disease Database of Modern Famous Doctors of Chinese Medicineand Lung Disease Database of Journals for the establishment ofLiterature Research Database of Experience of Modern Famous Doctors of Chinese Medicine in Treating Atrophic Lung Disease. The SPSS 19.0 software was used in the statistical analysis. The results showed that atrophic lung disease can be interstitial lung disease, atelectasis, pneumonia, primary bronchogenic carcinoma, bronchiectasis, tuberculosis, chronic bronchitis and pneumothorax in modern medicine. Among them, interstitial lung disease was the most common one. It was concluded that atrophic lung disease can be the outcome of many types of lung diseases. The relationship between atrophic lung disease and modern medicine diseases should require further studies by experts to confirm.

The amino acid sequence of ancestral enzymes from extinct organisms can be deduced through in silico approach termed ancestral sequence reconstruction (ASR). ASR usually has six steps, which are the collection of nucleic acid/amino acid sequences of modern enzymes, multiple sequence alignment, phylogenetic tree construction, computational deduction of ancestral enzyme sequence, gene cloning, and characterization of enzyme properties. This method is widely used to study the adaptation and evolution mechanism of molecules to the changing environmental conditions on planetary time scale. As enzymes play key roles in biocatalysis, this method has become a powerful method for studying the relationship among the sequence, structure, and function of enzymes. Notably, most of the ancestral enzymes show better temperature stability and mutation stability, making them ideal protein scaffolds for further directed evolution. This article summarizes the computer algorithms, applications, and commonly used computer software of ASR, and discusses the potential application in directed evolution of enzymes.

OBJECTIVE:To prepare Imperatorin ultradeformable liposomes gel (IMP-UDLs-Gel),and to evaluate its quality. METHODS:Based on single factor test ,using 12 h accumulative penetration amount (Q12h)as evaluation index ,the proportion of carbomer 940,glycerol and propyl glycol in formulation of IMP-UDLs-Gel were investigated by orthogonal test. The optimal formulation was screened. The quality of IMP-UDLs-Gel prepared with the optimal formulation was evaluated. RESULTS :The optimal formulation of IMP-UDLs-Gel included carbomer 940 proportion of 1%,glycerol proportion of 15% and propyl glycol proportion of 10%. Q12 h of IMP-UDLs-Gel was (11.543±0.241)μg/cm2;the appearance was milky white and translucent ;the particle size was (93.13±1.68)nm,PDI was 0.268±0.012,Zeta potential was (-24.96±1.99)mV;pH was 7.32±0.03; viscosity was (45.37±1.27)g·s;steady flow was (0.727±0.002)μg·h/cm2,lag time was (4.358±0.175)h,apparent permeability coefficient was 1.392×10-3 cm/h,and it has good physical and optical stability. CONCLUSIONS :The preparation method is stable and feasible ,and the prepared IMP-UDLs-Gel has good adhesion ,stability and transdermal property.
