Objective Porphyromonas gingivalis(Pg)is one of the main putative pathogens of periodontal disease, espcially of adult periodontitis. This in vitro study was aimed at observing the inhibition actions of 3 kinds of antimicrobial drugs on Pg. Methods 106 stains of Pg were isolated from subgingival plaques with adult periodontitis. The agar diffusion test was used to detect the inhibition actions of metronidazole, clindamycin and tinidazole on 106 stains of Pg. Results Their MIC was respectively:0. 25mg/L,0. 6rng/L. The MIC90 of tinidazole<MIC90 of clindamycin. The results showed:all of metroidazole, tinidazole and clindamycin can be used effectively against Pg,clindarnycin and tinidazole showed more potent antibacterial activity than metronidazole. The different concentration of Pg-liquid (l05 CFU/ml, 106 CFU/ml and 108 CFU/ml) had not influenced the results. Couclusion This study is significant to antibiotical therapy of periodontal diseases.

Objective To make etiological and epidemiological investigation on the infection of Angiostrongylus canto-nensis in 8 pupils in Changle City. Methods (1) CSF of patients was examined with the conventional method to detect pathogens and eosinophiles. (2) The fecal samples of wild rodents were collected from the spot and examined microscopically to discover the first stage larvae of A. cantonensis. (3) Snails (Pila gigas) were collected in the spot. The smashed head tissue was examined for the third stage larvae of A. cantonensis. (4) The patient's clinical symptoms and physical signs were recorded with an emphasis on central nervous system. Results (1) Two larvae of the third stage of A. cantonensis were found in CSF of one patient. Eosinophiles occupied 68% of the cell number in average (ranged from 47% to 83%) in CSF of the 8 patients. (2) The infection rate of the first stage larvae of A. cantonensis was 39.3% (44/112) in feces of the rodents. (3) The infection rate of the third stage larvae of A. cantonensis was 40. 0% (82/205) in the snails. (4) Major clinical manifestations in the 8 patients included: severe headache(8/8), dizziness(8/8), nausea(8/8), vomiting(8/8), lethargy(7/8), lower limb hypody-namia(7/8). Conclusion The confirmation of severe infection of A. cantonensis in 8 child patients demonstrated that a natural nidus of angiostrongyliasis is present in Chengle City.

Fifty five patients with alcohol induced-mental disorder (study group) and 43 local inhabitants without history of alcohol abuse (control group) were surveyed with family environment scale (FES-CV) and generic quality of life inventory-74 (GQOLI-74). The total score and the scores of all dimensions except material life in GQOLI-74 of study group were significantly lower than those of control group(P <0. 05). Compared with control group, the scores in FES of study group were lower for factors of cohesion, expressiveness, active-recreational orientation, moral-religious emphasis and organization in the patient's family, while the scores for conflict and control were higher( P < 0. 05 or P < 0. 01 ). The results indicate that family environment is closely correlated with quality of life in patients with alcohol-induced mental disorder, and family therapy would improve their quality of life.

BACKGROUND:MicroRNA(miRNA)levels are closely related to cell apoptosis and proliferation, extracellular matrix metabolism and inflammatory response in intervertebral disc cells. However, the specific role of miR-142-3p in lumbar intervertebral disc degeneration remains unclear. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the correlation between the expression of miRNA-142-3p,mixed lineage kinase 3 and interleukin-1β in nucleus pulposus tissue and degree of human lumbar intervertebral disc degeneration. METHODS:A total of 82 patients with lumbar intervertebral disc degenerative diseases in Suzhou Ninth People's Hospital from January 2020 to March 2022 were collected as the study subjects, all of whom underwent MRI examination before operation.According to the Videman classification, the patients were divided into mild degeneration group(n=36),moderate degeneration group(n=26)and severe degeneration group(n=20).Eighty-two specimens of the nucleus pulposus were obtained. The mRNA expression of miRNA-142-3p as well as the mRNA and protein expression of mixed lineage kinase 3,interleukin-1β,type I collagen, type II collagen in nucleus pulposus tissue were detected by qPCR and western blot assay. The correlation between the degree of human lumbar intervertebral disc degeneration and the expression levels of miRNA-142-3p,mixed lineage kinase 3,and interleukin-1β was also assessed using the Spearman correlation coefficient method.Thirty adult Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into sham-operated group(executed after puncturing skin and muscle only),mild degeneration group(executed 1 week after puncturing Co7/8 segments)and severe degeneration group(executed 2 weeks after puncturing Co7/8 segments),with 10 rats in each group. After that,we detected the protein expression of mixed lineage kinase 3 and interleukin-1β as well as the gene expression of miRNA-142-3p,mixed lineage kinase 3 and interleukin-1β in the nucleus pulposus tissue. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:In human nucleus pulposus tissue, the miRNA-142-3p expression ranked from high to low as follows:mild degeneration group>moderate degeneration group>severe degeneration group(P<0.05);the gene and protein expression of mixed lineage kinase 3 and interleukin-1β from low to high was as follows:mild degeneration group

Surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy are three traditional treatments for malignant tumors. With the development of medicine, immunotherapy has been gradually adopted as an emerging therapy of malignancies.Recent clinical studies have demonstrated that the combination of radiotherapy and immunotherapy can induce the abscopal effect and improve the prognosis of patients.Compared with the conventional radiotherapy, stereotactic radiotherapy has a larger single dose and higher accuracy, which is more likely to induce the bystander effect and anti-tumor response. The combination of stereotactic radiotherapy and immunotherapy has been proven to be a more promising therapy in certain clinical trials. However, not all types of tumors can benefit from such combined therapy in clinical practice. The optimal dose, fraction pattern and lesion of radiotherapy, immune enhancement and safety remain to be further clarified. In this article, the research progress, related controversies and future research direction of stereotactic radiotherapy combined with immunotherapy for malignancies were reviewed.
