Objective: To investigate the effect of (-) epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) and black tea polyphenols on the lipid metabolism related gene expression profile of human hepatocellular carcinoma HepG2 cells. Method: The total RNA was isolated from HepG2 cells treated with EGCG (5? mol/L), black tea polyphenols (5?g/ml) or 0.1%DMSO (control) for 8 h and was hybridized to Human 14k cDNA microarray for gene expression profile analysis. Real-time RT-PCR was conducted to confirm microarray data. Results: A total of 13 and 29 genes related to lipid metabolism showed differential change after EGCG or black tea polphenols treatment respectively, of which six genes showed consistent expression. The results of real-time PCR were consistent with the microarray data. Conclusion: The mechanism(s) by which EGCG and black tea polyphenols exerts its effects on lipid metabolism are comprehensive. The novel target identified in this study may provide new evidence for further investigation in the hypolipidemic effects of tea polyphenols.

BACKGROUND:At present, the clinical application of intramedul ary nail in the treatment of tibial shaft fractures has achieved good results. However reamed and unreamed intramedul ary nail in repair of tibial fractures in adults remains controversial. OBJECTIVE:To evaluate clinical efficacy and safety of reamed versus unreamed intramedul ary nailing for the treatment of tibial fractures in adults. METHODS:The literature related to application of reamed or unreamed intramedul ary nailing for tibial fractures published from 1980 to 2015 were searched from Springer, PubMed, and Wanfang database. Related Chinese and English journals of orthopedics were hand-searched. Al randomized control ed trials were col ected. RevMan5.0 provided by Cochrane was used to analyze the data. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Seven randomized control ed trials were included according to inclusion criteria, including 1 331 patients. There were 682 cases in the reamed intramedul ary nailing group and 649 cases in the unreamed intramedul ary nailing group. Meta-analysis results showed that compared with the reamed intramedul ary nailing group, implant failure rate was significantly higher in the unreamed intramedul ary nailing group [MD=0.37, 95%CI (0.24, 0.57), P<0.000 01], and nonunion rate was significantly higher [MD=0.54, 95%CI (0.31, 0.93), P=0.03]. There was no significant difference in the incidence of compartment syndrome, the rate of malunion and postoperative infection rate. Results suggested that no difference in the incidence of compartment syndrome, the rate of malunion and postoperative infection rate was found in reamed and unreamed intramedul ary nailing in the repair of adult tibial fractures. Reamed intramedul ary nailing has advantages of low implant failure rate and nonunion rate.
3.Status quo of smoking behavior of young male smokers with stroke
Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2014;30(10):45-46
Objective To explore the smoking behavior and its influencing factors of young male smokers with stroke, and set basis for further smoking cessation intervention. Methods 209 male smokers(≤45 years old) with stroke were randomly chosen, the information of demographic factors and smoking behaviors from medical files was got. Results Older people were more likely to be heavy smokers, the biggest percent (45.2%) of heavy smokers came from more than 40 years old people.Smoking consumption per day was affected by age, education and occupation, significant differences were found. Conclusions More than 40 years old patients in young male smokers with stroke should be focused in the intervention of smoking cessation.
4.Efficacy of staged nursing intervention on smoking behavior in young male adult patients with first attack of stroke
Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2013;29(21):55-57
Objective To evaluate the efficacy of staged nursing intervention on smoking behavior in young male adult patients with first attack of stroke. Methods 89 patients were randomly assigned to the intervention group (46 cases) and the control group (43 cases). In the intervention group, the patients were given staged nursing intervention based on their psychological stages in hospital and 11-week followup. The outcome of smoking cessation was evaluated three months after discharge. Results The rate of smoking cessation in the intervention group was higher than that of the control group.Smoking abstinence for the intervention group was more than the control group.FTND (Fagerstrom Test for Nicotine Dependence) scores were significantly different between two groups. Conclusions The staged nursing intervention is feasible for young male adults with stroke. We should increase secondary prevention consciousness and strengthen the implementation of relevant countermeasures.

Objective To observe and compare the effects of 2-week YiJinjing Gong practice and pelvic traction in the treatment of acute low back pain(ALBP)in patients with lumbar intervertebral disc herniation(LIDH).Methods Sixty two patients with diagnosed LIDH accompanied with ALBP were randomly divided into YiJinjing Gong group (n=32,received YiJinjing Gong practice twice a day,45min per practice)and pelvic traction group(n=30,pelvic traction, once a day for 60 minutes). All of the treatments lasted for 2 weeks.Roland-Morris questionnaire(MRMQ) and ache vision analogy grading were used for evaluating the effectiveness of treatment before and after the treatment. Before the treatment, and 3 and 6 months after treatment, telephone survey was used to collect the condition of ALBP.Results(1) MRMQ dysfunction scores and visual analog scores were significant reduced after the treatment in both groups(P<0.01).MRMQ dysfunction score Was significantly improved in YiJinjing Gong group comparing to the traction group(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference in visual analog scores between the two groups (P>0.05).(2)Follow-up showed 1 recrudescence in YiJinjing group and 4 in traction group 3 months after the treatment;3 in YiJinjing group and 7 in traction group 6 months after treatment. Conclusion YiJinjing Gong practice can effectively improve patient's functional disturbance, quickly alleviate the LBP,and was superior to conventional pelvic traction in the treatment of LIDH patients with ALBP.
6.Search in sports and learning situation of children in Nantong with short stature causing by different etiologies
Acta Universitatis Medicinalis Anhui 2015;(8):1146-1149
Objective To investigate the common etiologies, sports and learning situation of children in Nantong with short stature, and discuss the relationship between the two. Methods Did a retrospective analysis of 108 cases of children with short stature in Nantong University′s affiliated hospital since January 2012. Through detailed past illnesses, physical examination, laboratory tests, diagnose short stature and clarify the cause. Did a questionnaire to these children with short stature about sports and learning situation. Use statistical methods like multivariate Logis-tic regression analysis and link analysis to analyze sports and learning situation of children in Nantong with short sta-ture and find the relation with the etiology. According to the principle of group matching, the control group elected representative of 108 children. Results In 108 cases, 61 cases were because of growth hormone deficiency (GHD), accounting for 56. 5% ; 47 cases were because of non-growth hormone deficiency (NGHD), accounting for 43. 5% . Logistic regression analysis showed that participation in physical exercise was a protective factor. Rest-less anxiety and inattention were as risk factors, and these make a lot(P < 0. 001, OR = 7. 483, 95% CI = 2. 620 ~21. 374). There was no significant relation between common cause and sports, learning situation ( P > 0. 05). Conclusion Various types of sports (basketball, badminton, running, cycling) are protective factors for children of short stature. Restless anxiety and inattention are risk factors for children with short stature. Whether there is growth hormone deficiency or not, children with short stature should increase the right exercise as much as possible and avoid or reduce exposure to these risk factors.
