The corresponding astronomy implications of yin-yang and five phases of traditional Chinese medicine are investigated based on the modern astronomy, universal biology, and literature research. It is found that the principles of yin-yang in traditional Chinese medicine actually refers to the strengths and the directions of gravitational forces, electromagnetic waves, high energy particle flows of celestial bodies to human. The yin-yang in the human body is a result of selective evolution from protobiont under the influence of yin-yang of celestial bodies in hundreds of millions of years. The revolution of seven luminaries, which includes the Sun,Moon,Mercury,Venus,Mars,Jupiter and Saturn, creates the day and night yin-yang from the self rotation of the Earth, season yin-yang from the revolution of the Earth around the Sun,the yin-yao from the rotation of the Moon around the Earth, and the yin-yao from the rotations of the Mars and the Jupiter. The 10 years cyclic movement of the Mercury displays the states of jiayi, bingding, wuji, gengxin, rengui, which have the allelopathic characteristics of five phases-wood,fire,earth,metal and water, respectively. With the addition of yin-yang from the Mars, the states of Mercury are divided into yang five phases including jia, bing,wu,geng and ren,and yin five phases including yi,ding,ji,xin and gui.The yin-yang and five phases of human visceras is the result of the selective evolution under the influence of yin-yang and five phases of celestial bodies in hundreds of millions of years. The 5 years periodic movement of the Venus shows the five phases characteristics of the five zhongyun. With the addition of the yin-yang from the Mars, every zhongyun shows the yin-yang characteristics, which alternate once every other year.In a cycle of sixty years, the Saturn,Mars,Venus,Mercury and Jupiter show 15 pairs of independent yin-yang states, which is corresponding to the 15 pairs of yin-yang nayin five phases.

Objective To explore the role of OAZ gene in the pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythe-matosus (SLE) by using RNA interfering technique. Methods Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) from SLE patients were collected. Each sample was equally divided into four groups for cell culture in 96 well plates. Specific siRNA for OAZ and GAPDH were concordantly added to the experimental group and the positive control group, while nonspecific siRNA was added to the negative control group and only culture medium was added to the Mock control group. Cells and supernatants were harvested after culturing for 72 hours, then RNA was extracted and reverse transcripted to cDNA. OAZ, Id1, Id2, Id3, Id4 mRNA expression levels were analyzed by using real-time PCR. Levels of IFN-γ, IL-4, IL-10, IL-12, IL-21, CCL2, ANA in the supernatant were tested by ELISA. Relationships between the expression levels of OAZ mRNA with levels of cytokines and ANA were analyzed. Results OAZ, Id1, Id2, Id3 gene mRNA expression levels (△Ct: 12.5±1.4, 8.9±1.5, 4.3±0.8, 8.04±1.1) in the experimental group were significantly decreased comparing to those in the negative control group (△Ct: 10.2±1.1, 6.5±1.2, 2.4±1.3, 6.2±1.2 respectively, P<0.05). Levels of IFN-γ, IL-10, IL-12, IL-21 and ANA in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the negative control group (P< 0.05), but level of CCL2 was higher than the negative control group (P<0.05). Difference of OAZ mRNA expression levels (△△Ct) between the experimental group and the negative control group was negatively correlated with changes of ANA, IL-21 levels, but positively correlated with changes of Th1/Th2, CCL2. Conclusion OAZ siRNA can effectively reduce the expression of genes involved in the OAZ signaling pathway in SLE. OAZ may lead to abnormal production of ANA via regulating Id genes and cytokines.

Objective To explore the best ratio of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to activator and the synergistic action of thrombin and the growth factors in PRP gel on proliferation of human marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (hBMSCs). Methods The activator was made up of 1000 U bovine thrombin and 1 mL 10% calcium chloride solution. PRP was mixed with the activator at the ratios of 1:1, 5:1, 10:1, 20:1, 40:1 respectively in groups A, B, C, D and E. A quantitative sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used for examining the amounts of transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) and platelet derived growth factnr-AB (PDGF-AB) in PRP gel in each group after incubation for 0,1,8,24, and 120 hours. MTT assay was used to evaluate the effect of PRP gel in each group on hBMSCs proliferation. Results When PRP was mixed with thrombin, concentrations of PDGF-AB and TGF-β1 in PRP gel increased immediately and reached the peak value in 1 hour. The PRP gel in groups B, C, and D contained the highest amounts of PDGF-AB and TGF-β1, and accelerated hBMSCs growth re-markably. The cells proliferation in group A was inhibited. Conclusions The effect of PRP on the hBMSCs proliferation depends on the concentrations of PDGF-AB and TGF-β1 in PRP. Thrombin may influ-ence the hBMSCs proliferation by regulating concentrations of growth factors in PRP to certain extent, but too high a level of thrombin may inhibit hBMSCs growth.
