Primovist is a newly developed hepatocytespecific agent that is transported into the hepatocyte through organic anion transporting polypeptides (OATPs) and excre ted into bile through canalicular multiorganic anion trans porters.Primovist uptake is usually reduced in HCC cells that present hypointensity on the hepatobiliary phase, there fore this agent may help differentiate HCC from other neoplasms and improve histological grading. This article will further explore the use of Primovist in liver cirrhosis and small hepatocellular carcinoma.

In liver transplantation, hepatic sinusoidal obstruction syndrome (HSOS) is rare, which results in misdiagnosis and mistreatment. The prognosis of HSOS after liver transplantation is related to the implementation of early specific treatment. No systematic review has been reported on HSOS after liver transplantation. To raise awareness of HSOS after liver transplantation, this review summarizes the aetiology, pathology, clinical manifestations, laboratory findings, imaging features, diagnosis, differential diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of the condition.

Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(01):-
An investigation of the dietary conditions and the growth of children was made from February to May 1982 in 14 nurseries and kindergartens in G districts of Tianjin. The results showed: the calorie intake was lower than 80% of the daily allowance of normal children in 11 of 14 nurseries and kindergartens while the protein intake was lower than 70% of the daily allowance in 12. The levels of other nutrients were also lower. The heights and body weights of children in these institutions belonged to B class of 6 grades by Zhou Qi-yuan.The causes of calorie and protein insufficiency and some suggestions were discussed.

Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer (P. ginseng) has been used as traditional medicine in Asian countries for more than 2,000 years. P. ginseng contains many active components such as ginsenosides, peptides, essential oil and polysaccharides, among which, P. ginseng polysaccharides were reported to have immunomodulating, anti-cancer, anti-adhesive and antioxidant activities. For better understanding of the structures and biological activities of all the ginseng polysaccharides, here the recent research achievements were reviewed. This review would be helpful for the relevant researchers to get useful information.

Chinese Journal of Emergency Medicine 2014;23(2):187-190
Objective To study the effects of large dose anisodamine (654-2) combined with ulinastain on severe acute pancreatitis (SAP).Methods 100 healthy adult SD rats which were fasted 12 hours before experiment and were allowed drinking water freely, were divided to 5 groups randomly (random number):normal control group,SAPgroup,SAP + Ulinastain group,SAP + Anisodamine group,SAP +Ulinastain + Anisodamine, there were 20 rats in every group. To observe the levels of diastase, phospholipase A2 (PLA2) and endotoxin and pathology of rats in every group.Another cohort of 60 SD rats were divided into 3 groups:SAP group,SAP + Ulinastain group,SAP + Ulinastain + large dose Anisodamine group, survival periods were observed. Results The levels of diastase,PLA2 and endotoxin in SAP rats were higher than those in 3 SAP with treatment groups (P < 0.05).The histopathological changes were most severe in SAP group. All of 3 markers in 3 SAP with treatment groups decreased obviously, and anisodamine alone was effective to treat SAP,but the effect of UTI + 654-2 was better than UTI or 654-2 alone, and histopathological changes were mild in this group treated with UTI + 654-2.Conclusions Anisodamine could effectively relax the Oddi sphincter thereby decreasing the hydrostatic pressure inside the bile duct and pancreatic duct.Ulinastain is a kind of proteinase inhibitor suppressing many kinds of enzymes and in tern to stabilize lysosomal membrane and inhibit the release of lysosomal enzyme.Combination of the large dose Anisodamine with Ulinastain could inhibit the overexpression of inflammationarv factors in SAP,thereby lessening the severity of viscera injury.

Objective To investigate the association of single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNP)in p21and p27 genes with the risk of epithelial ovarian cancer(EOC).Methods Genotypes were analyzed by polymerase chain reaction-restrictive fragment length polymorphism(PCR-RFLP)method in 234 patients with EOC and 284 control women in China. Results (1)The frequencies of the p21 in healthy controls were 34.2%.49.6%and 16.2%,while the distribution of the C and T allele was 59.0%and 41.0%,respectively.The p21 C/C(28.2%),C/T(53.0%),T/T(18.8%)distribution in ovarian cancer patients was not significantly different from that in healthy controls(P>0.05).There was no statistic difference in allele distribution between ovarian cancer patients and healthy controls(P>0.05)either.The stratification analysis by tumor histological type did show that the genotype distribution in four types of ovarian cancer patients was significantly different from that in healthy controls(P=0.02).The C/C genotype was likely to reduce the risk of epithelial endometrial cancer.and the adjusted odds ratio was 0.56(95%CI:0.32-0.98).(2)The genotype frequencies of the p27 in healthy controls were 88.4%,10.9%and 0.7%.while the distribution of the V and G allele was 93.8%and 6.2%.respectively.The V/V(93.6%),V/G(5.1%)and G/G(1.3%)distribution in ovarian cancer patients was significantly different from that in healthy controls(P=0.04).There was no statistic difference in allele distributionbetween ovarian cancer patients and healthy controls(P>0.05).Compared with the V/G and G/G genotypes, the V/V genotype increased the risk of EOC,the adjusted odds ratio was 1.92(95%CI:1.02-3.63).Conclusion The C/C genotype of p21 may reduce the risk of epithelial endometrial cancer, and the genotype of p27 V/V may be a potential risk factor for susceptibility to EOC.

Chinese Journal of Anesthesiology 2014;34(1):94-97
Objective To evaluate the role of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) in ventilator-induced lung injury in rats. Methods Thirty healthy adult male Sprague-Dawley rats, aged 3.0-3.5 months, weighing 300-350 g,were randomly divided into 3 groups (n =10 each) using a random number table:traditional tidal volume group (group T,VT =8 ml/kg),large tidal volume group (group L,VT =40 ml/kg) and NS398 (selective COX-2 inhibitor,VT =40 ml/kg) group (group N).In group N,8 mg/kg NS398 (in 2 ml of 10% dimethyl sulfoxide) was injected intraperitoneally at 1 h before ventilation, while dimethyl sulfoxide 2 ml was administrated instead of NS398 in T and L groups. After 4 h of mechanical ventilation, arterial blood samples were obtained for blood gas analysis and PaO2 was recorded. The animals were sacrificed and lungs removed for microscopic examination and for determination of wet/dry lung weight ratio (W/D ratio) and concentrations of total protein, intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1),tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α),NO and 6-keto-prostaglandin F1alpha (6-keto-PGF1 α) in bronchoaveolar lavage fluid (BALF).Pulmonary permeability index (PPI) and TXB2/6-keto-PGF1 α ratio were calculated. Results Compared with group T,PaO2 was significantly decreased,W/D ratio and PPI were increased, the total protein,ICAM-1,TNF-α and NO levels and TXB2/6-keto-PGF1 α ratio in BALF were increased in group L(P < 0.05).PaO2 was significantly higher,W/D ratio and PPI were lower, and total protein,ICAM-1,TNF-α and NO levels and TXB2/6-keto-PGF1 α ratio in BALF were lower in group NS than in group L (P < 0.05).The damage to lung tissues was severe in group L,and obviously alleviated in group N.Conclusion COX-2 is involved in ventilator-induced lung injury in rats.
