Acta Anatomica Sinica 1954;0(02):-
The electromyography of the superior and inferior heads of lateral pterygoid muscle of 15 human subjects were recorded. It has been observed that marked active potential occurred in the superior head of the ipsilateral pterygoid muscle and the inferior head of the contralateral muscle during a one-side molar bite. Marked active Potential appeared in the superior head of the lateral pterygoid muscle during the closing movement of the jaw, whereas it appeared in the inferior head during the opening movement. It has not been confirmed that the lateral pterygoid muscle is an important protractor of the mandible, as only relatively weak active potential was recorded in the two heads of the muscles on both sides during the protraction of the jaw. Very marked active potential has been observed in the ipsilateral prenygoid muscle during the lateral movement of the mandible, while in the contralatenal superior head it occurred only slightly. The. above finding does not correspond to the descriptions found in current text-books.The two heads of the lateral pterygoid can therefonose considered as two functionally and structurally distinct muscles.

Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 1994;0(01):-
Protective effect of Chinese medicinal Lerbs against gastric stress injury was studied. The compound antioxidant prescription used was composed of ten herbs, each of which had proven antiperoxidation action. Bound-soaked rats were used as victims of stress injury. In the two groups of rats under protection of the "prescription and injection of salvia" the indexes of gastric mucosa injury were 8.50?2.31 and 19.00?4.25, LPO in serum were 10.74? 0.94 and 11.80? 1. 06nmol/ml respectively. Both were significantly decreased as compared with the control group (39.00? 6.50, LPO 19.06? 1. 10nmol/ml ). These results signified that the antioxidant medicinal herbs, especially in compounded form, may prevent gastric stress injury
7.Chemopreventive effects of celecoxib on rat colon aberrant crypt foci induced by dimethylhydrazine
Chinese Journal of Digestion 2001;0(03):-
Objective An investigation was conducted to assess the chemopreventive effects of celecoxib, a selective cyclooxygenase(COX)-2 inhibitor, on a rat colon carcinogenesis model induced by dimethylhydrazine (DMH). The results were compared with those of sulindac. Methods Thirty-two 8-week-old female Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups (n=8 each):Group A rats were treated with DMH(120 mg/kg wt, single subcutaneous injection) alone and group B rats were treated with saline alone. Group C rats were pre-treated with sulindac (320 mg/kg feedstuff) and group D rats pre-treated with celecoxib (1500 mg/kg feedstuff) for 7 days before DMH initiation. The animals were killed at the end of the experiment (week 5) and the aberrant crypt foci(ACF) and aberrant crypt(AC) of the colonic mucosa were assessed after being stained with methylene blue. Results In group A(DMH only), the average numbers of ACF and AC were 182.4?93.43 and 262.8?197.8 respectively. In group B (saline group) rats, no ACF was found. In group C (sulindac group) rats, the average numbers of ACF and AC were 91.25?48.98 and 139.60?68.52 respectively, both of them were decreased significantly as compared with those in Group A (P
8.Role of retrograde messenger NO in long-term potentiation
Basic & Clinical Medicine 2006;0(09):-
As an important messenger molecule, NO exists in both peripheral and central nervous system (CNS). Recently, NO was proved to play a critical role in CNS, especially in synaptic plasticity. As a kind of retrograde messenger, it plays some roles in the induction and maintenance of LTP through activation of downstream pathway or molecules, such as NO-cGMP-PKG, ADPRT and C-FOS.
9.Targeted therapy of metastatic renal cell carcinoma
China Oncology 1998;0(01):-
Surgery is the only curative treatment modality for renal cell carcinoma (RCC). However, approximately 30% of patients who undergo successful nephrectomy for RCC will develop locoregional or metastatic recurrence. Effective treatment for recurrent or metastatic RCC is limited. It is known that conventional radiation therapy and chemotherapy are relatively ineffective for RCC patients with distant metastases. Although immune therapy with high dose interleukin can provide disease control for a portion of patients with advanced RCC, its therapeutic effect usually is not sustainable. In addition, substantial adverse effects and complications have limited the use of high dose interleukin treatment. Advances in the understanding at the molecular level of cancer have led to much progress in the development of anti-cancer agents, including drugs of targeted cancer therapy. Targeted therapy is not only effective in cancer treatment, but also has reduced adverse effects compared with conventional chemotherapy and immune therapy. Much progress in the treatment of advanced RCC by targeted therapy has been achieved in recent years. In this review, we will illustrate the roles, mechanisms and effects of several targeted therapy agents, including the two newly FDA-approved drugs, sorafenib and sunitinib, in the treatment of advanced renal cell carcinoma.
