Objective To investigate the retinal toxicity and verify the safe dose of intravitreal injection of nonsteroid anti inflamatory drug, diclofenac sodium. Methods Twenty eight healthy adult white rabbits were divided at random into 7 groups and received in every right eye the intravitreal injection of a single dose of diclofenac sodium solution ranging from 0.4～1.0 mg/0.1ml respectively,the left eyes were regarded as control ones. Before injection and on the 1st, 3rd, 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th day after injection the electroretinography on both eyes was examined. On the 28th day after injection the retinas of two rabbits of every group were examined by using light microscopy. On the 10th and 30th day after injection the retinal tissues around the optic nerve disk of two eyes from every group at random were tested by using transmission electron microscopy. Results The ratio of amplitude of b wave of electroretinography in 0.4 mg and 0 5 mg groups had no significant difference from groups before injection,the retinal tissues showed no structural changes in light and electron microscopy examination. Objective To investigate the characteristic,diagnosis and treatment of the nipple discharge.Methods The clinical data of 174 cases who were diagnosed as nipple dlscharge from January 2001 to December2006 were collected and analyzed retrospectively.Results Among those 174 cases,136 cases were confirmed histopathologieally to be intraduetal papilloma.The confirmed diagnosis rate of intraduetal papilloma by galaetograghy was 85.00%.Carcinoma-charge rate of the intraduetal papilloma was 5.17%.Conclusion Nipple discharge was the most common symptom in the intraductal papillomatesis.The galaetography was a valuable method in the diagnosis of the intraduetal papilloma.There was carcinoma-charge possibility in the intraduetal papilloma.

AIM: To investigate the potential role of 14-3-3 tau in trophoblast cells on invasiveness. METHODS: 14-3-3 tau expression was detected in first-trimester villi, deciduas and human trophoblastic cell line (BeWo) by immunohistochemistry. Small interference RNA (siRNA) targeting 14-3-3 tau was transfected into BeWo cells. The effects of down-regulated 14-3-3 tau on invasion of human trophoblasts cell line BeWo were examined by matrigel invasion assay, and the transcription, translation of E-cadherin and snail were estimated by RT-PCR or Western blotting. U0126 was used to detect the extracellular-signal related kinase 1/2 (ERK1/2) function on down-regulation of 14-3-3 tau induced cell invasion. RESULTS: 14-3-3 tau was detected in the invasive trophoblastic cells in the first trimester villi and that invaded to the deciduas. BeWo cells also expressed 14-3-3 tau. Down-regulation of 14-3-3 tau increased the invasive cell-number of BeWo, as well as the expression of snail, and inhibited E-cadherin. U0126 inhibited the enhanced invasiveness in these cells induced by the down-regulation of 14-3-3 tau. CONCLUSION: 14-3-3 tau may regulate the invasiveness of human trophoblastic cells through ERK1/2 signaling pathway.

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of mallet needle plus acupuncture in treating stiff neck. Method Eighty patients with stiff neck were randomly allocated to treatment and control groups, 40 cases each. The treatment group received mallet needle therapy plus acupuncture and the control group, acupuncture alone, for three consecutive days. In the two groups, the Pain Rating Index (PRI) score and the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) score were recorded before and after treatment and the clinical therapeutic effects were evaluated after treatment. Result The PRI score and the VAS score decreased in both groups after treatment compared with before (P<0.05) and decreased more in the treatment group than in the control group at the end of treatment (P<0.05). The total efficacy rate was 95.0% in the treatment group and 87.5% in the control group; there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion Mallet needle therapy plus acupuncture is more effective than acupuncture alone in treating stiff neck.

Objective To evaluate the effect of autophagy-related factors LC3 and Bnip-3 and apoptosis related factors Bcl-2 and Bax on brain damage in experimental diabetic rats .Methods Thirty SD rats were randomly divided into diabetic group and control group .The diabetic group was injected with 1% streptozotocin ( 60 mg/kg body mass ) and the control group with citrate buffer .The rats were sacrificed after 12 weeks feeding and brain tissues were obtained .Pathological chan-ges were observed and the expression of LC 3, Bnip-3, Bcl-2 and Bax in brain tissues of the rats was detected by immuno-histochemical SP method .Results Compared with the control group ,the diabetic rat brain pathology showed that the cell arrangment was more disorderly and distributed more unevenly , the cell body was smaller , cytoplasm was lighter red , and the number of nerve cells of normal morphology was smaller .The positive number of LC3, Bnip-3 and Bax in brain tissues of diabetic rats was significantly larger than in the control group ,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). However ,the positive number of Bcl-2 was significantly smaller than in the control group ,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.001).In diabetic rats, LC3 and Bnip-3 showed a weak positive correlation(P<0.05), Bcl-2 and Bax were irrelevant, Bnip-3 and Bax were positively weakly-correlated(P<0.05),Bcl-2 was not correlated;and Bcl-2 and Bax were irrelevant.Conclusion LC3,Bnip-3 and Bax in the brain tissue of diabetic rats are overexpressed , while Bcl-2 shows weak expression , indicating that autophagy factors and apoptotic factors are involved in the process of brain injury in diabet -ic rats, which may be one of the mechanisms of brain tissue damage .

Objective To assess the clinical significance of antibodies against cyclic citrullinated peptide(anti - CCP) in a cohort of patients with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). Methods The anti - CCP was tested by an enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) in serum samples from 22 patients with JIA(9 boys, 13 girls), with a mean age of 9.1 years(range 1.1 - 16). As control groups, anti - CCP were also tested in sera of 20 healthy children, and 30 adult patients with rheumatoid arthritis(RA). Results Positive anti - CCP were found in sera of 2 patients with JIA(9.1 %), both with lower titre comparing with those of adult patients with anti - CCP positive. In the control groups, none of healthy children was positive for anti - CCP, but 16/30(53. 3%) adults with RA showed anti - CCP positivity. Conclusion Anti - CCP can be detected in children with JIA, but are less frequently present than in adults with RA, so anti - CCP has limited diagnostic value to JIA.
