Objective To investigate the effect of folic acid intervention on plasma homocysteine (Hcy) metabolic changes and pulse wave velocity(PWV)in patients with type H hypertension. Methods Patients(hos-pitalized from March 2014 to December in our hospital)with H type hypertension were randomly divided into treat-ment group and control group randomly ,and were given routine antihypertensive drug therapy. Treatment group was given oral folic acid 0.8 mg,1 times a day,the control group was given placebo,1 times a day. All patient were treated for 12 months. Changes of plasma Hcy and PWV levels were observed. Results 432 patients(Han nationality)with type H hypertension were enrolled in this study with the age of 61.7 ± 13.6 years old and the ratio of men and women is 1.3:1. The most common diseases were coronary heart disease and type 2 diabetes mellitus. 2 groups were treated for a period of 12 months, with follow-up time from 6 to 10 months(average duration in 8 months). After treatment, the difference between plasma Hcy(Z=-7.63,P=0.000)and PWV(Z=-3.16,P=0.002)levels of the two groups were statistically significant. Conclusion Folic acid intervention can significantly reduce the level of plasma Hcy in patients with type H hypertension ,slow down the progression of atherosclerosis and reduce the risk factors of cardiovascular disease.

OBJECTIVETo observe the effects of Xiaobai Decoction (XBD) in reducing albuminuria and shortening the duration of albuminuria in patients with pregnancy-induced hypertension syndrome (PIH) in puerperium.
METHODSEighty-five patients were given the conventional treatment with magnesium sulfate for relieving convulsion and lowering hypertension, at the same time, the treated group was given XBD additionally with the modification according to the symptoms. The treatment course for both groups was 14 days. Routine test of midstream urine was performed every three days, and 24 h-urinary protein was measured every week.
RESULTSThe therapeutic effect on the 43 patients of the treated group was markedly effective in 11 (25.6 % ), effective in 26 (60.4%) and ineffective in 6 cases (14.0%), the total effective rate being 86.0%; while in the 42 patients of the control group, the corresponding numbers were 5 (11.9%), 21 (50.0%), 16 (38.1%) and 61.9%, respectively, the efficacy of the former was significantly better (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONXBD is a simple, safe and effective drug for reducing albuminuria and shortening the duration of albuminuria in puerperium of PIH patients.

Compounds with serotonin reuptake inhibition/5-HT(1A) dual activity were used to build 3D pharmacophore model as a training molecules by Discover Studio. Based on the model, 8 novel aryl piperazine benzo[b][1,4] oxazine derivatives were designed and synthesized, and their structures were confirmed by 1H NMR and HR-MS. Biological evaluation illustrated that compounds VI(1) and VI(7) showed potent functional activities at both 5-HT transporter and 5-HT(1A) receptor, which can be used as lead compounds to guide future research of design and synthesis of potent novel compounds.

ObjectiveTo investigate the correlation between serum C-reactive protein(CRP),tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α) and atherosclerosis in patients with subclinical hypothyroidism. Methods Seventy-five patients with subclinical hypothyroidism were divided into two groups according to the level of TSH:mild group (42 cases) with TSH between 5.5 and 10.0 mU/L and severe group (33 cases) with TSH >10.0 mU/L.Thirty healthy physical examinees or volunteers were selected as control group.TG,LDL-C,HDL-C,TSH,FT4,FT3,CRP,TNF-α and carotid intima-media thickness(CIMT) of all cases were detected and measured.ResultsCIMT of mild, severe and control groups were(0.88 ± 0.20),( 1.12 ±0.21 ),(0.62 ±0.21 ) mm,respectively.CIMT of mild and severe groups were both significantly higher than that of control group,CIMT of severe group was significantly higher than that of mild group (P < 0.01 ).There were no significant differences of CRP and TNF- α among three groups (P > 0.05 ).LDL-C of mild and severe groups were significantly higher than that of control group [ (3.22 ± 0.37),(3.49 ± 0.38 ) mmol/L vs.(2.48 ±0.41 )mmol/L,P <0.01 ].HDL-C and TG between mild and control groups had no statistical significance (P >0.05).Compared with control and mild groups,HDL-C of severe group decreased [(0.92 ±0.10)mmol/L vs.( 1.21 ± 0.14),( 1.17 ± 0.11 ) mmol/L] and TG increased [ ( 1.50 ± 0.49) mmol/L vs.( 1.11 ±0.53),(1.27 ±0.47) mmol/L](P< 0.01 or < 0.05).The levels of TG,LDL-C,TSH,CRP and TNF-α had positive correlation with CIMT (r =0.52,0.37,0.48,0.39,0.45;P <0.05 or <0.01 ).FT4 was negatively correlated with CIMT (r=-0.24,P<0.05).HDL-C had no relation with CIMT (r =0.06,P >0.05).ConclusionsThere are many abnormalities such as metabolism disorder of blood lipid in patients with subclinical hypothyroidism. The risk of atherosclerosis increases in these patients and inflammatory reaction may not be an important factor of subclinical hypothyroidism complicated with atherosclerosis.

Objective To report 11 cases with the tissue defects of their upper or lower limbs repaired with the anastomsed medial sural artery perforator flaps. Methods The free medial sural artery perforator flaps, with length of 8 cm to 15 cm and width of 6 cm to 14 cm were used for tissue defect reconstruction of the distal upper or lower limbs in 11 cases, including 6 females and 5 males. The flap was harvested from the ho- mo-lateral calf, confined between the posterior-medial edge of the tibia and the middle line of the calf and a- bove the distal half part of the medial sural muscle, with a same axis of this muscle. Results Ten cases survived very well, which was relatively thin, and the donor site can be acceptable. One case resulted in a complete flap necrotized and covered with a split skin graft. No obvious motor function defect was observed of the donor leg. Conclusion The anastomsed medial sural artery perforator flap is alternative donor flap for the upper or lower limb tissue defect repair, especially for the defect in the hand or foot.

A cDNA sequence of Arnebia euchroma AP2/ERF named AeAP2/ERF was cloned by in silico cloning in this study, using ACX71873 sequence from Lithospermum erythrorhizon as the probe sequence. Some characters of the AP2/ERF gene and encoded protein sequences were predicted and analyzed by the bioinformatics methods, including general physical and chemical properties, hydrophobieity, signal peptide, secondary structure, localization sites in cells. Results showed that the 876 bp long gene included a 1 077 bp ORF and encoding 205 amino acid. The AeAP2/ERF protein had no signal peptide, it was a hydrophilic proteins located in nucleus. The function of the AP2/ERF protein was mainly involved with metabolism controlling and signal transduction.

Objective In attempt to improve the reconstruction of small defects in the facial and frontal regions, we developed a modified radial artery perforator-based free flap. Methods The free proxi-mal radial forearm flap was based on the distal perforator of the radial artery and the concomitant radial vein. The vascular pedicle passed through deep fascia. The free flap was transferred to repair the defects of the fa-cial and frontal regions. Results In 6 patients with frontal defects and 4 patients with facial defects, all flaps survived completely. After following up for 6-12 months, flaps underwent plastic surgery to become thin-ner. The flaps of 10 cases were good in skin texture and color at recipient sites. The scars were cosmetically acceptable. The superficial sensibility recovered well. Conclusion A modified radial artery perforator-based free flap was useful in coveting small defects of the facial and frontal regions.
