1.Isolation and culture of rat hair follicle Bulge cells and its growth character in vitro
Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1982;0(01):-
Objective To isolate and culture the hair follicle Bulge cells of rats and study their morphological, immunological characteristics. Methods Hair follicle Bulge obtained by micromanipulation and enzyme digestion was cultured in intro. The morphological features and numbers of Bulge cells were identified and counted with light microscopy. Immunocytochemical staining was used to detect expressing of K19 and ?_ 1integrin in cultured cells. Results Bulge cells after enzyme digestion pasted rapidly. Cells were small and round, paving stone-shape, and had a large ratio of nuclear to cytoplasm. The characteristics suggested a primitive morphologic feature. Cells growth well and could maintain low differentiation and higher reproductive activity, they co-expressing K19 and ?_ 1integrin, immunofluorescence staining showed the cells expressed ?6-integrin strongly, weakly or no expressing CD71. Conclusion This culture system can amplify a lot of pure hair follicle Bulge cells in short time. We successfully isolate and culture the hair follicle Bulge cells of rats in intro and can keeping its property for a long time.
2.Primary malignant pericardial mesothelioma:clinicopathological and immunohistochemical analysis
Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 2001;0(08):-
Objective To explore the clinicopathological and immunohistochemical features of primary malignant pericardial mesothe- lioma. Methods Seven cases of primary malignant pericardial mesothelioma,in 4 females and 3 males, with the age ranged from 22 to 51 and a mean of 40 years old, were studied with clinicopathological, immunohistochemical and histochemical techniques,The pertinent litera- ture was also comprehensively reviewed. Results 3 biopsy specimens and 4 surgical specimens, including 2 autopsy specimens, were stud- led.The main clinical symptoms were palpitation and short breath, which were aggravated after movement. The longest course was 4 years, and the mean disease course was 12 months. The chest films demonstrated an obviously increase in heart shadow, and the pericardi- um was thickened in some cases.CT clearly showed tumorous shadow in 2 cases. The histopathologic picture showed tubular type in 2 ca- ses, papillary in 2,signet ring cell type in 1 and myofibroblast types in 2.In 2 autopsy specimens it was found that pericardium was dif- fusely thickened. In one case the tumor was metastasized to the right lung, mediastinum, and pulmonary hilar lymph node.In another case there was metastasis to right kidney.Immunohistochemical staining showed that the neoplastic cells of all cases were positive for CK5/6, calretinin,CK.vimentin and EMA,but negative for CEA.In the histochemical staining seven cases, the malignancy was positive for CI to different extent, but negative for HCL Conclusion Immunohistochemistry and histochemistry play an important role in diagnosis and dif- ferential diagnosis for primary malignant mesothelioma and other tumors in pericardium.

Journal of Third Military Medical University 2003;0(20):-
Objective To investigate the feasibility of the transdifferentiation of hair follicle bulge cells into corneal epithelial cells in vitro. Methods The hair follicle bulge cells from 7- to 8-day SD rats were isolated and cultured in vitro, then co-cultured with rabbit corneal limbal stroma in transwell-cultured system. The differentiation and development of hair follicle bulge cells were observed, and immunocytochemical staining were used to detect expression of K19 and K12 in hair follicle bulge cells. Results The cultured bulge cells possesed high proliferation and low differentiation, co-expressed K19 and ?_ 1 integrin, but part of them expressed K12 after 2-week co-culture with rabbit corneal limbal stroma in transwell-cultured system. Conclusion Rat hair follicle bulge cells could transdifferentiate into corneal epithelial cells induced by corneal limbal stroma in vitro.

Objective To evaluate the melancholia incidence in the convalescence period of cerebral hemorrhage and its correlated factors. Methods Ninety-eight cerebral hemorrhage patients in the convalescence period were involved in this study.Melancholia was assessed by Hamilton depression scale (HAMD),neural functional deficiency was assessed by the national institute of health stroke scale (NIHSS),cognitive function deficiency was assessed by the Montreal cognitive assessment (MoCA) and neural functional deficiency recovery was assessed by modified Rankin scale (mRS).Hemorrhagic site and blood quantity were detected with CT.The blood flow of middle cerebral artery (MCA),anterior cerebral artery (ACA),posterior cerebral artery (PCA) was detected by TCD.Results The melancholia incidence in the convalescence period was 51.0%(50/98),34.0%(17/50) in males and 68.8%(33/48) in females, there was significant difference between the two (P < 0.05 ).The scores of NIHSS and mRS had significantly positive correlation with HAMD (P < 0.05 ),and had significantly negative correlation with MoCA (P < 0.05 ).When the hemorrhagic site was in frontal lobe and blood quantity was 20-40 ml,the melancholia incidence was increased [76.2% (16/21),62.5% (25/40)].The average blood velocity of MCA,ACA and PCA in melancholia patients was significantly slower than that without melancholia patients, while resistance index was significantly higher in melancholia patients (P < 0.05).Conclusions Melancholia incidence in the convalescence period of cerebral hemorrhage has positive correlation with sex,NIHSS,MoCA,hemorrhagic site and blood quantity. The average cerebral blood flow in the melancholia patients is significantly slower and resistance index is significantly higher.
