A Review] Endothelial cells produce both superoxide and nitric oxide. Nitric oxide and superox- ide are known to react rapidly to form the stable peroxynitrite anion. Peroxynitrite mediates the oxidation of protein, lipid, deoxyribose and inhibits mitochondrial electron transport. Peroxynitrite may break DNA strands and activate poly(ADP - ribose) syntheatase. If the reaction is excessive, it results in a depletion of intracelular NAD+ and ATP. There is ultimately cell death.

Objective To investigate the levels of peripheral blood plasma M-ficolin/L-ficolin and their correlation with clinical indexes in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA).Methods M-ficolin/L-ficolin was detected in the plasma of 61 RA patients who were grouped according to the disease activity and 18 healthy controls by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).The relationships between the levels of M-ficolin/L-ficolin and laboratory parameters,disease activity were investigated in RA patients.Statistical analysis were performed by t-test,one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA),rank-sum test,correlation analysis was carried out with Pearson/ Spearman rank correlation test.Results ① M-ficolin levels in 61 RA patients were [M (QR) 39 (24) ng/ml] significantly higher than healthy controls (14±4) ng/ml (Z=-5.72,P＜0.05).L-ficolin levels in 61 RA patients were (1.7±0.6) μg/ml obviously higher than healthy controls (1.3±0.5) μg/ml (t=2.55,P=0.013).② The M-ficolin levels of 61 RA patients in low,mediate,high disease activity group were (21±5) ng/ml,[M(QR) 35(13) ng/ml),[M(QR) 50(25) ng/ml].There was significant difference among the three groups (P＜0.01).The L-ficolin levels of 61 RA patients in low、mediate,high disease activity group were (1.2±0.5) μg/ml,(1.7±0.4) μg/ml and (2.2±0.6) μg/ml.There was significant difference among the three groups (P＜0.05).(M-ficolin levels were positively correlated with disease activity score (DAS)28,erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR),C reactive protein (CRP),rheumatoid factor (RF),white blood cell (WBC),Note Express User Tool (NEUT),MONO,blood platelet (PLT) (r=0.830,0.692,0.725,0.667,0.388,0.397,0.338,0.476,P＜0.05),L-ficolin levels were positively correlated with DAS28,ESR,CRP,RF,WBC,NEUT,MONO,PLT (r=0.653,0.593,0.630,0.468,0.254,0.302,0.312,0.340,P＜0.05).Conclusion M-ficolin/L-ficolin levels increase in RA patients and correlate with disease activity,which suggests that the complement system may play an important role in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis.

OBJECTIVE:To establish a RP-HPLC method for the determination of the content of chlorhexidine acetate in daobian suppository.METHODS:The determination was performed on Diamonsil C_(18)column,The mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile-water-triethylamine(30:70:0.5,with pH adjusted to 3.0 by phosphoric acid)at a flow rate of 1.0 mL?min~(-1),The detective wavelength was 260 nm,the sample size was 20?L and the column temperature was maintained at 30℃. RESULTS:The linear range of Chlorhexidine Acetate was 1.092～13.10?g?mL~(-1)(r=0.999 9)and its average recovery was 98.29%(RSD=2.16%,n=9).CONCLUSIONS:The method is simple and accurate,and it can be used for the determination of the content of chlorhexidine acetate in daobian suppository.

[Objective]To study the correlation between the severity of bone marrow edema(BME) and the collapse of osteonecrosis of the femoral head(ONFH),to explore the relationship between the severity and the score of Harris,so as to offer the direction for understanding and judging the prognosis of ONFH clinically.[Method]Fifty-eight cases of ONFH patients(94 hips) without collapse,according to the X-Ray and the MRI examination,made a follow-up visit for 16～28 months,an average of 18 months,and made a retrospective study of the correlation between the severity of BME and the collapse,the Harris of ONFH.[Result]The correlation between the BME degree and the collapse of ONFH:the collapse rate was 4.5% in degreeⅠ,11.8% in degreeⅡ 66.7% indegreeⅢ,90% in degree Ⅳ.The correlation between the BME degree and the Harris:93.0?5.41 in degree Ⅰ,84.1?5.42 in degree Ⅱ,76.4?4.22 in degreeⅢ,66.3+7.46 in degree Ⅳ.[Conclusion](1)BME is the secondary sign of ONFH;(2)The tendency of collapse could be predicted through the BME;(3)There is a negative correlation between the BME degree and the Harris,namely the larger scope of BME is,the lower the score of Harris is.

Objective To evaluate the relationship between 5,10-Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase(MTHFR) gene polymorphisms and colorectal cancer(CRC).Methods Studies were selected based on the criteria for inclusion.The Meta-analysis software,REVMAN 4.2,was applied for checking the heterogeneity across the studies and calculating the pooled OR.The results were evaluated by the analyses of publication bias and sensitivity.Results A total of 9 787 cases and 12 986 controls from 18 studies for C677T and a total of 4 422 cases and 5 819 controls from 9 studies for A1 298C were included.No heterogeneity among the studies was found.For codon 677,the frequencies of CC,CT and TT genotypes were 46.48%,43.81% and 9.71% in cases,and 45.03%,43.08% and 11.89% in controls,respectively.The pooled OR of TT vs.CT+CC was 0.80(95%CI 0.74～0.87).For codon 1 298,the frequencies of AA,AC and CC genotypes were 53.60%,39.39% and 7.01% in cases,and 53.31%,38.67% and 8.03% in controls,respectively.The pooled OR of CC vs.AC+AA was 0.84(95%CI 0.72～0.97).Conclusions MTHFR 677TT is at lower risk of developing CRC and 1 298CC genotypes might be associated with the decreased risk of developing CRC.

Objective To study the relationship between the T helper cells (Th22)/interleukin (IL)-22 and rheumatoid arthritis (RA) with interstitial lung disease (ILD), and to define the clinical significance of Th22 cells for RA. Methods The quantity of Th22 cells in the peripheral blood from 40 patients with RA (20 RA with ILD, 20 RA without ILD) were examined by flow cytometry, the level of IL-22 in the sera was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Comparisons between groups were analyzed by t-test, rank sum test, and the correlation of parameters were tested by linear correlation analysis. Results The quantities of CD4+IL-22+ cells (Th22) in RA patients [(0.15 ±0.07)%] were significantly higher than normal controls [(0.09 ±0.05)%] (t=4.097, P<0.01), and IL-22 levels in RA patients [(83 ±7) ng/L] were significantly higher than normal controls [(61±5) ng/L] (t=13.057, P<0.01). The quantities of Th22 cells in RA-ILD patients [(0.18±0.07)%] were significantly higher than RA-NILD patients [(0.13±0.05)%] (t=2.919, P=0.008), and IL-22 levels in RA-ILD patients [(87±6) ng/L] were significantly higher than RA-NILD patients [(80±6)ng/L] (t=3.624, P=0.001). The quantities of Th22 cells were positively correlated with erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), rheumatoid factor(RF) and 1.4 disease activity score (DAS)28 (r=0.336, 0.377, 0.577, P<0.05),and the level of IL-22 were also positively correlated with ESR and DAS28 (r=0.406, 0.576, P<0.05). Conclusion The quantities of Th22 cells and IL-22 level are increased in RA patients, especially in RA-ILD patients. The quantities of Th22 cells and IL-22 level are positively correlated with ESR and DAS28. It may play a certain role in RA especially in RA with ILD.

Objective To study the different effects between intermittent eliminating white blood cells and immunosuppressive agents pulse therapy in children′s anaphylatoid purpura nephritis on the base of hormone′s treatment.Methods Twelve cases of anaphylatoid purpura nephritis were enrolled in the study and divided into 2 groups.After failure in the hormone′s treatment,the observation group was applied with intermittent eliminating white blood cells(5 mL/kg,1-2 times/week),and the control group was treated with immunosuppressive agents[cyclophosphamide(CTX) 0.8-1.0 g/m~2,or methotrexate(MTX) 8-10 g/m~2].Results There were no significant differences between the 2 groups.The observation group had no obvious side effects,but the control group all had different side effects.Conclusion The treatment of intermittent eliminating white blood cells can have better effects without the side effect resulting from immunosuppressive agents.

Objective To investigate the influence of coxsackie B virus (CVB) and mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP) superinfection on immunological manifestation of recurrent respiratory tract inflammations(RRI) in children.Methods One hundred and thirty-two hospitalized children with RRI between Jan.to Dec.2005 were divided into negative control group,MP infection group,CVB infection group and superintection group by determining anti-MP IgM and anti-CVB IgM.Blood sedimentation,C-reactive protein,IgG,IgA,IgM and T lymphocyte subpopulation etc.were determined in four groups.The anti-MP IgM was determined by specificity immune agglutination test.Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay was used to detect anti-CVB IgM.The IgG,IgA,IgM were determined by simple agar diffusion method.T lymphocyte subpopulation was tested by flow cytometry.Results The percentage of CVB infection was 32.1%,mainly expressed in the 1-3 years old children;the percentage of MP infection was 22.7%,mainly expressed in children over 3 years old.In both CVB and MP infection group,the ten-dency of IgG increased and that of IgA decreased.IgM in the CVB and MP superinfection group was obviously higher than that in negative control group and MP infection group (Pa
