International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2008;16(3):169-172
Objective:To investigate the neuropsychological characteristics of Chinese agraphia caused by basal ganglia(BG)infarction. Methods:The writing abilities of 40 patients with BG infarction were detected by Chinese agraphia battery(CAB),and all the writing scores and agraphia quotient were calculated. The head CT/MRI images in agraphia and non-agraphia groups were standardized, the infarction were revealed and the superposition of two-dimensional arrays were performed,so that the central tendency of infarction was visually displayed. Results: Among the 40 patients,21 had left BG infraction, and 17 had agraphia;19 had right BG infraction, and 4 had agraphia. The two-dimensional superimposing neuroimages showed that BG infarctions caused agraphia was mostly in the left BG,including the left putamen, the head and body of the caudate nucleus, but there were fewer infarctions in the right putamen and the body of the candate nucleus.BG infarction caused agraphia was mostly aphasic agraphia, which was characterized by the orthographic disorders, paragraphia, and grammar mistakes. Conclusions: BG infarction may result in aphasic agraphia, which suggested that BG is involed in writing and processing, and it is the subcortical center of this advanced neurofunction in writing.

Using the tissue culture technology to achieve the fast propagation of P.ternata and through the photosynthetic characters and yield comparison, two high-yield indivaduals were obtained. The result showed that the coefficent of propagation can get to 1∶6.23 per generation, through 3 month culture the average diameter of the in vitro tuber can get 0.88 cm. P.ternata was a typical shade-plant, of which LCP was only 700?mol?photons/s?m2. Photo-inhibition was observed among all the three leaf-types of P.ternata, and the willow leaf type showed the most obvious photo-inhibition. Both of the light response Pn curve and single tuber weight were significant different among leaf styles. Result for studying the chlorophyll fluorescence parameters showed that all the difference of NPQ, qP and qN among three leaf-types of P.ternata were significant and the difference of potential-photosynthetic productivity among them was significant. The willow leaf style had the strongest light-tolerance capacity. The individuals of T2(peach-leaf type) had the highest Pn and single tuber weight among 11 superior individuals and the individuals of L2(willow-leaf type) showed the strongest light-tolerance capacity. Through 6 month propagation ten thousands in virto tuber of T2 and L2 each were gotten. And after growing in Wenzhou experimental base for one year, the total gross weight of the high-yield individual tuber get to 100kg each.

To observe different expression patterns of β-catenin and its clinical significance in colorectal cancer (CRC).Methods A total of 181 cases of CRC tissues and 30 cases of normal colorectal tissue were investigated by immunohistochemistry for the expression of β-catenin.Results The expression rate of β-catenin was 56.9% (103/181) in CRC,and higher than that in normal colorectal tissue (P < 0.05).The overexpression of nuclear β-catenin was significantly correlated with histological differentiation, lymph node metastasis and Dukes' stage in CRC (P < 0.05),and no relationship with other pathological parameters, such as age, gender and the depth of infiltration. The incomplete membranous expression of β-catenin was significantly correlated with histological differentiation, the depth of infiltration, lymph node metastasis and Dukes' stage in CRC (P < 0.05).The high expression of nuclear β-catenin related to histological differentiation and Dukes' stage in CRC (P < 0.05).In the follow-up data of 82 cases of CRC,the expression of nuclear β-catenin was associated with poor prognosis, and the 5-year survival rate was significantly lower than that of self-control groups (P < 0.05).Conclusion β-catenin plays important roles in colorectal carcinogenesis.Abnormal expression of β-catenin was related to the aggressive progression of CRC and may be helpful for evaluating the prognosis of patients with CRC.β-catenin is expected to become a new target for diagnosis and treatment of CRC in future.

Objective To investigate the blood pressure control effect of captopril sustained-releasetablets based combination, antihypertensive therapy on hospitalized high-risk patients with hypertension in high altitude region. Methods According to the blood pressure, risk factors and combined target organ damage,331 hospitalized patients with essential hypertension were divided into 2 groups and accepted different treatment:low-risk group had monotherapy (n=102) , and night-risk group had captopril sustained-release-tablets based combination antihypertensive therapy (n =229). The discharge blood pressure, extent of SBP/DBP decrease and the compliance rate of discharge blood pressure of two groups were compared. Results The extent of SBP/DBP decrease in hight-risk group was significantly greater than low-risk group (SBP [36. 83 ± 22. 23] mm Hg vs.[28. 74 ±18.71] mm Hg,t=-3. 207,P <0. 05;DBP[22. 04±13. 57]mm Hg vs. [17. 98 ± 13.63] mm Hg,t =-2. 509, P < 0.05). The average discharge blood pressure in both groups reach the standard criterion, but no significant difference was observed between the two groups (SBP [125. 62 ± 14. 74] mm Hg vs. [122. 28 ±13.13]mmHg,t=-1. 962,P>0. 05;DBP[80. 67 ±9. 82]mm Hg vs. [78. 40 ±9. 97]mm Hg,t =-1.910,P > 0. 05). Furthermore we found no significant difference in the control rate of blood pressure between high-risk and low-risk group (72. 06% vs. 71. 57% , x2 = 0.928, P > 0. 05). Conclusion The captopril sustainedrelease-tablets based combination antihypertensive therapy is a reliable treatment in high-risk patients with hypertension from high altitude region, which shows satisfying blood pressure control rate.

A novel series of benzyl urea analogues based on the structural modification of sorafenib were synthesized. Their in vitro antitumor activities against MX-1, HepG2, Ketr3 and HT-29 were evaluated using the standard MTT assay. While several target compounds showed inhibitory activity against multiple cancer cell lines, compound 9 was of particular interest, demonstrating IC50 values (5.69-13.6 micromol x L(-1)) comparable to those of sorafenib. Furthermore, compounds 20 and 23 showed more potent inhibitory activity against HT-29 and MX-1 when compared to sorafenib. In particular, compound 20 bearing the N-3-pyridyl moiety not only exhibited greater inhibitory activity against HT-29 cell line (IC50 3.82 micromol x L(-1)), but also had improved solubility at pH 7.2, is worthy of further investigation as a lead to identify novel antitumor agents.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2015;(8):1053-1056
Liver fibrosis is a major cause of morbidity and mor-tality worldwide which poses a great threat to public health. Con-siderable evidence suggests that the immune system is closely re-lated to the development of hepatic fibrosis especially the dendrit-ic cells ( DCs) . In recent years, many studies have showed that DCs play a key role in regulating the immune function of liver, which not only mediate the activation of the immune system and inflammation reaction in liver, but influence the occurrence and development of liver fibrosis. Further study has found that DCs exert different effects on liver fibrosis at different stages of the disease, and it exerts anti-fibrosis in early stages and recession period, while plays opposite effect in the middle of the disease. This article reviews the research progress of the role of DCs in liver fibrosis and discusses the underlying mechanisms of DCs in regulation of liver fibrosis, which may provide references for bas-ic and clinical studies of liver fibrosis.
