Objective:To study the efficacy of ribavirin injections combined with Tanreqing in the treatment of children with epi-demic parotitis. Methods:From January 2012 to September 2013, 128 children with mumps in our hospital were selected and random-ly divided into the treatment group and the control group with 64 cases in each. The control group was intravenously given ribavirin in-jections, 5-7. 5 mg·kg-1 , ivd, bid, and the treatment group was given Tanreqing injections additionally, 0. 25-0. 4 ml·kg-1 ·d-1 , ivd,qd. After the 5-day treatment, the extinction time of parotid swelling and pain, defervesce time and the decrease of TNF- α and CRP were observed in the two groups. Results: The total effective rate in the treatment group was 93. 8%, which was significantly higher than that in the control group (84. 4%) with significant difference (P<0. 05). The extinction time of parotid swelling and pain and defervesce time in the treatment group were significantly shorter than those in the control group (P<0. 05). After the treatment, TNF- α and CRP in the two groups were significantly decreased (P<0. 05), and the decrease in the treatment group was much notable than that in the control group (P<0. 05). Conclusion:Ribavirin injections combined with Tanreqing in the treatment of children with mumps can significantly shorten the extinction time of parotid swelling and pain and defervesce time, and inhibit TNF-αand CRP with significant effect, which is valuable in clinical promotion and application.

OBJECTIVE To find out the reasons for the failure of sterilization of low temperature plasma antiseptic,and make corresponding measures to improve and standardize the plasma sterilization methods.METHODS A total of 280 times with the plasma sterilization by Johnson & Johnson STERRAD100S from the November 2007 to 2008 were conducted.RESULTS Among the antiseptic 280 pots,255 pots were completed smoothly.Another 25 pots were finished after removing the barriers.CONCLUSIONS The STERRAD100S low temperature plasma antiseptic is used standardizedly,taking effective measure,to speed up cycling rate of surgery instruments,reducing precious instrument's purchase and enhancing the antiseptic effect.It can positively use in operating room for antiseptic disinfection.

Objective To explore the effect of miRNA‐106a(miR‐106a) expression on multidrug resistance(MDR)of gastric cancer(GC)cells and the involvement of runt‐related transcription factor 3 RUNX3.Methods The expression of miR‐106a was detected in two human gastric adenocarcinoma cell lines with MDR by immunoblotting and apoptosis assay. The sensitivity of GC cells to anticancer drugs was observed by detecting the expression of miR‐106a by using immunoblotting and PCR ,and the relationship between miR‐106a and RUNX3 was determined by luciferase activity assay.Results miR‐106a was significantly in‐creased in GC cells with MDR ,and it suppressed the sensitivity of GC cells to anticancer drugs. It could modulate MDR by tar‐geting RUNX3.Conclusion miR‐106a can induce the MDR by targeting RUNX3 in GC.

BACKGROUND:Several studies have shown that Hero642 is a rotary nickel-titanium file with high safe performance, and its ability of root canal shaping is good.
OBJECTIVE:To observe the clinical effect of single-visit root canal treatment using Hero642 nickel-titanium rotary instrument on teeth with chronic pulpitis and apical periodontitis.
METHODS:Total y 400 teeth with chronic pulpitis and apical periodontitis were operated by Hero642 nickel-titanium rotary instrument and nickel-titanium hand file, respectively. The efficiency of root canal preparation was taken. Pain reactions were recorded 1 week after operation and curative effects were evaluated 2 years after root canal treatment. Rates of pain and success were calculated at 1 week and 2 years after treatment, respectively.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The average time for root canal preparation was (3.57±0.76) minutes in the Hero642 group and (7.62±0.25) minutes in the hand file group, and there was a significant difference between the two groups (P<0.01). After 1 week of treatment, the pain rates were 3.5%and 22.8%in the two groups, respectively, showing a significant difference (P<0.01). Two-year fol ow-up was performed, and ratios of success were 94.4%in the Hero642 group and 92.4%in the hand file group, but there was no difference between the two groups. Hero642 nickel-titanium rotary instrument for single-visit root canal treatment showed excellent efficiency on clinical treatment, reduced treatment period and had less postoperative reactions.

Objective To investigate the characteristics of family environment in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in clinics, and analyse the risk factors for ADHD. Methods Two thousand two hundred and ninety-six children with inattention, hyperactivity or unfavourable school performance were subjected to diagnosis with DSM-Ⅳ criteria in clinics. The characteristics of family environment were investigated by self-prepared questionnaires. The risk factors for ADHD were explored by univariate analysis and noneonditioned multivariate Logistic regression analysis. Results Seven hundred and twenty children were diagnosed with ADHD. There were significant differences in family environment between children with ADHD and those without(P<0.05 or P<0.01). The risk factors for ADHD included discord between parents, parental smoking and maternal depression during pregnancy and after delivery, while older age, female, paternal higher educational background were protective factors for ADHD. Conclusion Unfavourable family environment may be associated with the prevalence of ADHD, and special attention should be paid to the family environment in the treatment of ADHD.
