Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2004;10(4):205-206
ObjectiveTo observe the effect and side effect of intravascular He-Ne laser irradiation (ILIB) on the abnormal lipid metabolism induced by clozapine.Methods52 patients with schizophrenia (34 males, 18 females) took clozapine alone at a dosage of 200-350 mg/d. All patients were treated with ILIB every other day, 60 min once, ten times altogether. Before and after treatment, lipid metabolism, liver, kidney and blood coagulate functions of patients were tested.ResultsTC, TG, LDL-ch levels of patients decreased obviously after ILIB treatment (P<0.05), while HDL-ch level increased obviously (P<0.01). The liver, kidney and blood coagulate functions were as same as before treatment.ConclusionILIB has an extreme effect on the abnormal lipid metabolism induced by clozapine, and it is quite safe and has clinical practice value.
2.Effect of music treatment on memory decrease of patients with schizophrenia caused by clozapine
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2002;8(11):684-686
ObjectiveTo explore the effect of music treatment on memory decrease causing by clozapine of patients with schizophrenia. MethodsThe 70 patients with schizophrenia aged 18 to 30, who were in hospital for the first time and had graduated from middle school were divided into the experimental group who received music treatment and the control group with 35 cases each at random, when they reached the clinical cure standard after only taking clozapine. The two groups were given the same test before and after the experiment.ResultsThe memory measurement of the two groups had no difference before the experiment(P>0.05). The patients in the experimental group greatly increased their memory after the treatment (P<0.01), but these was no significent difference in the control group (P>0.05).Conclusions Music treatment can help to improve the memory of the patients received clozapinetreatment.

Objective:To detect the correlativity between clinical periodental indexes and C-terminal telopeptides of type I collagen (CTX)concentration in gingival crevicular fluid(GCF).Methods:77 teeth with periodontitis in 60 patients from the international Bethune peace hospital were included. The concentration of CTX in GCF was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The plague indexe(PL),gingival indexe(GI),probing depth(PD)and attachment loss (AL)level were recorded at clinic. The correla-tion of CTX concentration and clinic indexes was analysed by Kruskal-Wallis test using SPSS 1 1 .0 software. Results:The Spearman correlation coefficient of PL,GI,PD and AL with CTX was 0.386(P <0.01 ),0.366(P <0.05),0.382(P <0.05)and 0.31 4(P <0.05)respectively.Conclusion:PL,GI,PD and AL are positively correlated with the concentration of CTX in GCF(P <0.05).

Objective To investigate the effects of different doses of propofor on ATP-sensitive K~+currents(I_KATP)in human atrial myocytes and the underlying mechsnism. Methods A small piece of myocardiumwas obtained from right atrium in patients undergoing atrial septal defect or ventricular septal defect surgery.Themyocardium specimen was placed in cold Ca~(2+)-free cardioplegic solution aerated with 100% oxygen.Themyocardium specimen was cut into small chunks(1 mm~3).Atrial myocytes were isolated by enzymatic dissociationtechnique. The effects of propofol on I_KATP in atrial myocytes were studied using the whole-cell configuration ofpatch-clamp technique. Results The outward currents were recorded with a pipitte solution containing 0.3mmol?L~(-1) ATP.The currents were inhibited by glibendamide 10 ?mol?L~(-1),a specific K_ATP channel inhibitor, suggesting that the outward currents were I_KATP.I_KATP aws activited by propofol in a dose-dependent manner. Conclusion Propefol can activate the I_KATP in human myocytes in a concentration-dependent manner and themechanism of its myocardial depressant action may be partly explained.

Objective To establish a pancreatic ?-cell developmet fish model with specific spatial expression patterns. Methods Molecular cloning, microinjection, whole embryo in-situ hybridization(WISH)and fluorescence microscopy in living were used to analyze of ?-cell development through generation of transgenic zebrafish.ResultsScreened and established pancreatic ? cells of transgenic zebrafish, and confirmed the fluorescence protein expression in the same spatiotemporal pattern with endogenous insulin gene to achieve dynamic monitoring islet ?-cell development situation in vivo. Conclusion The pancreatic ? cells of transgenic zebrafish animal model can successfully trace pancreatic ? cell development.

ObjectiveTo develop a stable model of focal cerebral infarction in rat to study the curative effect of neural stem cells transplantation.MethodsThirty-seven rats were selected which were divided into two groups in random, experimental group and control group. The focal infarction model was developed by the ligation of the left middle cerebral artery followed by the ligation of the ipsilateral common carotid artery and the temporary clip occlusion of the contralateral common carotid artery for 1.5 h. The operation adopted minimally invasive craniotomy though temporal bone. The model was evaluated by examining the neurologic deficits, ink perfusion, TTC staining and Magnetic Resonance imaging.ResultsAll the rats were in good condition after the operation, the mortality rate was 6.25% after 4 weeks. Ink perfusion and TTC staining confirmed that the ischemia was confined to the cortex. The areas of infarction measured 83.52 mm3 by Magnetic Resonance imaging after 4 weeks.ConclusionA stable focal cerebral infarction model can be achieved by minimally invasive craniotomy. It is superior for its homogeneity of infarction volume and site, and its low mortality. It can be used for the study of transplantation of neural stem cells.

BackgroundWhether the peeling of the inner limiting membrane (ILMP) increase the closure rate of idiopathic macular hole is still in controversy. Some ophthalmologist recommend vitrectomy combined with inner limiting membrane peeling for the treatment of idiopathic macular hole. However, the removal of ILMP is difficult because of its similar appearance to adjacent tissues. Objective This study was to investigate the efficacy of triamcinolone acetonide(TA) and indocyanine green(ICG) double staining-assisted vitrectomy combined with ILM peeling during the surgery. Methods A consecutive case- observational study was designed. The standardized vitrectomy was performed in 25 eye of 23 cases with IMH.During the vitrectomy,TA and ICG were injected into posterior pole vitreous to visualize and assist the ILM peeling. The dying effectiveness was observed, and the closure rate of macular hole, visual acuity, intraocular pressure and complications were evaluated after surgery.Written informed consent was obtained from each patient prior to operation. Results Posterior vitreous cortex and ILM were visible and the residual vitreous and cortex were removed clearly after dying of TA and ICG in all the 25 eyes.During the following-up duration of 3-8 months, the completely anatomical reattachment of the macular area was in 22 eyes ( 88.0% ) and partially reattachment in 3 eyes( 12.0% ).The best corrected vision was 0.07-0.60 in all of the operated eyes 2 months after surgery. Conclusions TA and ICG- assisted vitrectomy combined with ILM peeling appears to be a safe and effective method for IMH repair.
