OBJECTIVETo compare clinical outcomes of bilateral transpedicular balloon kyphoplasty for the treatment of ordinary osteoporotic vertebral compressive fracture (OVCF) and severe osteoporotic vertebral compressive fracture.
METHODSFrom Junary 2009 to Febuary 2011, 60 patients (70 vertebrae) with osteoporotic vertebral compressive fracture were included. All patients were treated by bilateral transpedicular balloon kyphoplasty combined with postural reduction, including 10 males and 50 females aged from 59 to 90 years old with an average of 72.1 years old. In ordinary osteoporotic vertebral compressive fracture group, there were 38 patients (44 vertebrae) including 7 males and 31 females aged from 59 to 87 years old with an average of (71.8±6.1) years old. There were 6 patients with two vertebral fractures, 1 vertebra in T9, 5 vertebrae in T10, 7 vertebrae in T11, 13 vertebrae in T12, 9 vertebrae in L1, 4 vertebrae in L2, 4 vertebrae in L3, 1 vertebra in L4. While in severe osteoporotic vertebral compressive fracture group, there were 22 patients (26 vertebrae) including 3 males and 19 females aged from 63 to 90 years old with an average of (72.6±7.2) years old. There were 4 patients with two vertebral fractures, 1 vertebra in T9, 2 vertebrae in T10, 3 vertebrae in T11, 9 vertebrae in T12, 6 vertebrae in L1, 3 vertebrae in L2, 2 vertebrae in L3. Operative time, volume of bone cement injection, and vertebral height and changes of Cobb angle before and after operation were observed and compared. Postoperative average recovery rate of vertebral height and correct degree of Cobb angle were caculated and compared, VAS scoring were used to evaluate therapeutic effect.
RESULTSAll operations were completed sucessfully, and pain were relieved at 72 h after operation. All patients were followed up from 6 to 13 months with an average of 10.1 months. Postoperative vertebral height, Cobb angle and VAS score were improved better than that of before operation (P<0.05). Operative time in ordinary group was shorter than severe group, while volume of bone cement injection was more than that of severe group. Average recovery rate of vertebral height and correct degree of Cobb angle in ordinarty group was better than that of in severe group (P<0.05). There was no significant differences between two groups in VAS scores before and after operation (P> 0.05). Three cases (3 vertebrae) ocurred bone cement leakage in ordinarty group, while 5 cases (5 vertebrae) ocurred bone cement leakage in severe group, and there was no meaning between two groups (P>0.05).
CONCLUSIONKyphoplasty could receive satisfied curative effect in treating ordinary and servere patients with osteoporotic vertebral compressive fracture, but recovery of vertebral height and correct degree of Cobb angle in ordinary gourp was better than that of in servere group.

BACKGROUND:Stromal cel derived factor-1 (SDF-1)/chemokine receptor 4 (CXCR-4) biological axis plays a chemotactic role in a variety of cel s, making it possible to regulate the regeneration of a variety of tissues. Whether the bidogical is involved in bone morphogenetic protein-2 (BMP-2)-induced homing of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s, however, is stil unclear.
OBJECTIVE:To study the role of SDF-1/CXCR4 signaling pathway in BMP-2-induced migration of mouse bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s.
METHODS:Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s in logarithmic growth were selected and intervened with SDF-1 (0, 50, 100 and 200μg/L), BMP-2 (0, 50, 100 and 200μg/L) and AMD3100 (50μg/L) to induce cel migration detected by Transwel method.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The migration of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s was closely related to SDF-1 and BMP-2, and proportional to the concentration of both SDF-1 and BMP-2. When SDF-1 and BMP-2 were used jointly, the number of migrated cel s was increased significantly, and highest number of migrated cel s was obtained at 200μg/L. Moreover, these migrated cel s showed a nest-like distribution under microscopy. AMD3100 as an inhibitor markedly suppressed the migration of bone marrow mesencnymal stem cel s induced by BMP-2, but the number of migrated cel s was likely to increase with the increasing concentration of BMP-2 that exceeded a specific value. Overal , our findings show that SDF-1/CXCR4 signaling pathway is an important pathway in BMP-2-induced migration of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s.

Objective To study causes of deterioration of sudden mydriasis in craniocerebral trauma patients with normal intracranial pressure and verify the efficiency of specific treatments. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on causes of four cases of accidental mydriasis in normal intracranial pressure among 473 cases of craniocerebral trauma treated from June 2008 to March 2012.Changes of patients' condition and monitoring indices were observed after specific treatments. Results Abnormal mydriasis with synchronously normal intracranial pressure was largely due to sufficient decompression after a certain period of intracranial hypertension and persistence of brain perfusion pressure to more than 110 mm Hg or due to high cerebral perfusion pressure caused by redundant drainage of cerebrospinal fluid or low intracranial pressure (< 10 mm Hg),together with factors like low plasma osmotic pressure and carbon dioxide accumulation. The study showed that the intracranial pressure was maintained normal, that the brain swelling took a turn for better, that medical condition were stabilized and that pupil returned to normal in the four cases after treatment with specific protocol.GOS was four points in three cases and five points in one during follow-up at six months postoperatively. Conclusion Incidence of mydriasis with normal intracranial pressure in craniocerebral trauma patients can be efficiently declined through reduction of peripheral blood pressure, perfusion pressure controlling, hypertonic remedy maintenance and brain edema relief.

control group from the high to the low. When the typeⅢand type Ⅳglomerular function was changed (BUN and BCr in high value),the drainage quantity of the enzymes evidently increased. Conclusions Urine enzyme series can sensitively reflect the damage of renal tubules in early stage, even if BUN and BCr value is on the normal level , and the drainage quantity of these enzymes are changed more or less, which show that renal tubule damage exists. The value of BUN and BCr is positively correlated with the drainage quantity of these enzymes.the more urine enzymes are drained out, the more renal tubule function is involved, therefore, the more renal globe function is damaged.

The essential medium of B115 composed of 1% tryptone, 0.25% yeast extract and 0.5% sodium chloride was determined by using an orthogonal design. The orthogonal design was also employed in testing the optimum additions. It was composed of 0.1%(NH_(4))_(2)SO_(4),1.4%K_(2)HPO_(4), 0.6% KH_(2)PO_(4) and 0.1% (Na_(3)C_(6)H_(5)O_(7)). The yield of B115 cultured in optimum medium was compared with the one in essential medium. Statistic analysis showed that the growth of B115 was most significantly improved by adding K~(+)、NH~+_(4) and (Na_(3)C_(6)H_(5)O_(7)) to essential medium. The antibacterial effect of Bacillus subtilis strain B115 on pathogenic Aeromonas was studied. The results showed different antibacterial effects of B115 on different aeromonads. There were obvious antibacterial effects on BSK-10 and CL990920, while no effect on the growth of TL970424.
