Objective To investigate the regulating effect of Jianpixiaoshi Decoction(JPXSD)on gastrointestinal motility in rats of functional dys-pepsia(FD)with spleen deficiency syndrome. Methods Forty healthy male SD rats were randomly divided into four groups:normal control group, model group,model traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)group and model western medicine group. Except for the normal control group,FD model of spleen-deficiency type was established by swimming to exhaustion on alternate days and alternating feeding of cabbage and lard for 25 days. Corre-sponding drugs were then administrated to those four groups:distilled water,JPXSD and Mosapride distilled water solution once a day by gavage for 7 days. Symptoms and body weights of these rats were observed and recorded during the experiment. After the last of drug administration,all groups were fasted for 24 hours. Nutritious semisolid paste marked with ink was given orally to the rats,GER and IPR of 1 hour were detected under anesthe-sia by sodium thiopental and blood were collected at the same time. The concentration of serum SP and SS were measured by ELISA according to the instructions. Results JPXSD improved the symptoms of model rats. Model TCM group showed significantly increased body weight,higher GER, lower IPR,higher serum SP level and lower SS level when compared to model group(P<0.05). Conclusion JPXSD could improve the symptoms of rat with spleen-deficiency,raise its body weight,accelerate the decreased gastric emptying and bring back the hyperactive small intestinal move-ment to normal. The regulating role of JPXSD may be realized through the increase of serum SP level and decrease of SS level.

Neovascularization is one of the crucial challenges in tissue-engineered grafts.In order to find sdution to the problem,endothelial cells and animals were exposed to electromagnetic fields to examine the formation of new vascular.This review gives an overview of the effects of electromagnetic fields on the neovascularization of tissue-engineered grafts.

Objective To investigate complications in patients after noncardiac thoracotomy in hypothyroidism with ST changes. Methods Sixty one patients with hypothyroidism undergoing noncardiac thoracotomy were divided into ST segment change group(28 patients having ST segment depression≥0.05 mV) and controls(33 patients) according to the results of Holter. All patients were added with thyroid hormone, until the function of thyroid gland was normal before thoracotomy. The myocardial ischemia was measured by Holter within 48 hours after thoracotomy. Serum thyroid hormones was examined by radioimmunoassay during, before and after thoracotomy. And cardiovascular events were foliowed-up to hospital. Results Before and after thoracotomy serum TT3 in ST segment change group was (1.30±0.41), (2.09±0.45)nmol/L, TT4 was (80.56±30.28), (84.55±33.57) nmol/L, respectively; compared with the control group[TT3: (1.43±0.52), (2.38±0.51)nmol/L, TT4:(82.70± 29.43), (93.47±35.02)nmol/L], no significant differences were found(all P>0.05). After thoracotomy, 24 patients occurred myocardial ischemia, 10 patients occurred cardiovascular events in ST segment change group; 8 patients occurred myocardial ischemia, a patient occurred cardiovascular events in control group, there were significant differences between two groups(χ2=22.95,10.95, all P<0.05). The positive predictive value of ST segment change in Holter detection was 36% (10/28) recording in cardiovascular events of patients with cardiovascular disease undergoing noncardiac thoracotomy and hypothyroidism, negative predictive value was 97%(32/33). Conclusions Myocardial ischemia and other cardiovascular events tend to occur in hypothyroidism patients with ST segment change after noncardiac thoracotomy. ST segment change of preoperative Hoher detection recording cardiovascular events of hypothyroidism patients undergoing noncardiac thoracotomy has certain predictive value.

Background Nerve growth factor (NGF) plays an important role in the maintenance of the tear film stability.It is well known that the damage of ocular surface causes dry eye in the patients with thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy (TAO).However,if NGF is helpful for the stability of tear film is unclear.Objective This study was to investigate the relationship of NGF concentration in tear with tear film stability in TAO patient before and after glucocorticoid treatment.Methods Prospective observational cohort study was designed.This study was approved by the Ethic Committee of Binzhou Medical College,and written informed consent was obtained from each subject before entering this trial.Thirty-eight patients with active TAO and thirty age-and gender-matched controls were enrolled in the study.Prednisolone acetate tablets were administered in TAO patients for 4 weeks at a back-titration regimen.The tear fluid was collected and NGF level was detected by ELISA.Clinical activity score (CAS) was evaluated under the slit lamp lamp.Schirmer Ⅰ test (S Ⅰ t) was performed and breakup time of tear film (BUT) was obtained in controls and patients with active TAO before and 4 weeks after steroid treatment.Results Baseline NGF levels in tear was higher in the patients with active TAO than in the controls (U=-5.026,P＜0.01).NGF level decreased from 46.23 (42.34,51.42) ng/L to 27.45 (19.38,29.12) ng/L 4 weeks after steroid treatment (Z=-6.172,P＜0.05),and CASdecreased significantly from 6 (5,7) to4 (2,5) (Z=-2.496,P＜0.01).SⅠtvalue increased from 6 (4,11) mm to 11 (7,16) mm 4 weeks after steroid treatment (Z =-4.286,P＜0.05),and the BUT prolonged from 5 (3,9) seconds to 11 (6,14) seconds(Z=-3.160,P＜0.05).NGF levels in active TAO was significantly correlated with CAS (r=0.645,P＜0.01),S Ⅰ t value (r =-0.530,P＜0.01) and BUT (r =-0.430,P＜0.01).Conclusions Tear NGF may stabilized the tear film.The application of steroid anti-inflammation drug can reduce the tear NGF level,increase the tear secretion and improve the tear film stability in patients with active TAO.

Objective To investigate effect of tacrolimus on renal function, blood lipids, cytokines and peripheral HMGB-1 and NF-κB in nephrotic syndrome patients.Methods From January 2012 to January 2014 in the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University, 127 cases of patients with nephrotic syndrome were included based on random number table, and divided into two groups (n=65) and control group (n=62).Control group with conventional symptomatic treatment, observation group in combination with tacrolimus treatment on the basis of control group, which were treated for a total of two courses, eight weeks for a course of treatment.Serum creatinine and blood urea nitrogen levels, TG, TC, HDL-C, LDL-C levels, serum IL-1, TNF-αlevels and serum HMGB-1 and NF-κB levels were evaluated.Results The serum creatinine and blood urea nitrogen levels after treatment was significantly lower than that of control group, respectively ( P<0.05 ) .TG, TC and LDL-C levels after treatment in observation group was significantly lower than that of control group respectively (P<0.05).Serum IL-1 and TNF-αlevels after treatment in observation group was significantly lower than that of control group respectively (P<0.05).Serum HMGB-1 and NF-κB levels after treatment in observation group was significantly lower than that of control group respectively (P<0.05).Conclusion Tacrolimus can reduce blood lipid levels, inflammatory reaction and serum HMGB-1, NF-κB levels in nephrotic syndrome patients, and significantly improve renal function.

Objective To investigate effect of alprostadil on serum levels of inflammatory cytokines and nutritional biochemical indexes in patients with chronic renal failure.Methods According to the random number table, 129 patients with chronic renal failure patients were included in this group and randomly divided into observation groups (n=67) and control group (n=62).Control group were given conventional symptomatic treatment, and the observation group were given alprostadil treatment on the basis of control group with a course of four weeks of both groups.The Scr, BUN, IL-6, TNF-α, CRP, Ca2 +, ALB, P3 +, Hb, RBC, hemorheology changes were compared before and after treatment.Results The Scr, BUN levels after treatment was significantly lower than before treatment (P<0.05), and Scr, BUN levels in observation group after treatment was significantly lower than control group (P<0.05).Serum levels of IL-6, TNF-α, CRP after treatment significantly decreased than before treatment (P<0.05), serum IL-6, TNF-α, CRP after treatment was significantly lower than control group ( P<0.05 ).After treatment, Ca2 +, ALB levels of observation group was significantly higher than control group and P3 +was significantly lower than control group (P<0.05), while there were no significant differences of Hb, RBC.The hemorheology of observation group before treatment was significantly lower than control group ( P<0.05 ) .Conclusion Alprostadil can significantly improve renal function, and the possible mechanism may be associated with reducing serum levels of inflammatory factors and improving blood rheology, which delay progression of chronic renal failure effectively.

Targeting characteristic information processing of TCM pulse diagnosis, this article studied the application of fuzzy mathematics in objectifying pulse diagnosis. By analyzing limitations of traditional analytic methods, this article offered the scientific evidence of using mathematical algorithm in pulse diagnosis. At the same time, combined with actual clinical data, it also verified the correctness of introduction mathematical algorithm in TCM pulse diagnosis.

Objective To compare 2 approaches with different culture media which induce hyphal form of Candida albicans.Methods Induction of hyphal form was conducted for 16 C.albicans strains with either RPMI 1640 medium or DMEM medium,at 37 ℃ for 24 h,respectively.The hyphal and yeast forms were counted separately and the ratio of hyphal form to total cells was calculated.Results The ratio of hyphal form to total cells was higher in RPMI 1640 medium than that in DMEM medium at the same incubation time for the majority of strains.The ratio was above 99% for all strains after 7-day incubation with 12 times of passages in RPMI 1640 medium at 37 ℃.Moreover the ratio of hyphal form was significantly higher for fluconazole-susceptible strains than that for fluconazole dose-dependent susceptible and resistant strains in incubation with DMEM medium at 37 ℃.Conclusion Incubation with RPMI 1640 medium at 37 ℃ for 7 days seems a favorable condition to induce hyphal form of C.albicans.

Dental stem cells(DSCs)possess the characteristics of stem cells and can be effectively obtained from iatro-waste products (such as impacted wisdom tooth and the extracted teeth for orthodontic reason).It has been proved that DSCs are the important sources of stem cells for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine research.Research of these stem cells will create broader space for tissue engi-neering and regenerative medicine and will have important values in translational research.This review gives an overview of the research pro-gress of dental stem cells,and presents some new findings of several common dental stem cells as well as the application in tissue regenera-tion.
