Objective: To analyze the uncertainty in the determination of formaldehyde in food stimulant.Methods: HPLC with pre-column derivation was used to determine formaldehyde in food stimulant.A calculation formula was established to identify the source of uncertainty and the combined uncertainty was evaluated.Results: The synthetic uncertainty in the determination of formaldehyde was 1.7% and the expanded uncertainty was 3.4%.The formaldehyde content in food stimulant was (1.320 ± 0.044) mg·L-1 (k =2).Conclusion: The study provides reference for the uncertainty analysis on formaldehyde content in food stimulant by HPLC with pre-column derivation.

Objective To analyze and evaluate the effect addition of albumin to the extracorporeal circulation (CPB) in patients undergoing valve replacement. Methods 62 patients under 60 years of age, with the blood level of albumin nearly normal, undergoing mitral valve replacement or aortic valve replacement were randomly divided into two groups. In 34 patients albumin was added to the priming fluid of extraporeal circulation, and in 28 patients it was not. The pre-operative and postoperative serum albumin levels, the duration of assisting ventilation, and the amount of albumin needed between the time of operation to 7 am of the first postoperative day were compared. In both groups the primary priming fluid consisted of balanced electrolyte solution, hydroxyethyl starch, 5% sodium bicarbonate, and 25% mannitol. Results All the indexes, including the preoperative level of albumin, the amount of albumin needed from operation to 7 am of the first postoperative day, and the albumin level at 7 am of the first postoperative day showed no notable differences. Conclusion For patients with no hypoalbuminemia, mitral valve replacement or aortic valve replacement is safe to withhold the addition of albumin to the priming fluid for CPB.

OBJECTIVE To understand the clinical distribution and drug resistance of Enterococcus to provide evidence for the rational use of antibiotics. METHODS The Enterococcus isolated form clinic from Jan 2006 to Dec 2007 and the sensitivity to 13 kinds of antibiotics were tested by K-B method. RESULTS All of 122 strains of Enterococcus were isolated which included 76 strains of E.faecalis(62.3%),29 strains of E.faecium(23.8%) and 17 strains of other enterococcus(13.9%).Most enterococcus were detected from vaginal secretion,urine,drainage fluid,cervical secretion and throat swab.Drug sensitivity test showed that the sensitivity to vancomycin and teicoplanin was high while the resistance to rifampicin,erythromycin,tetracycline and ciprofloxacin was the highest,and the total resistance rate of E.faecium was higher than E.faecalis. CONCLUSIONS The detection rate and resistance rate of Enterococcus present a rising trend,which should be paid for more attention by clinic.Bateria cultivation is necessary for suspected enterococcus infection and the drugs selected according to sensitivity result to improve the curative effect.

Objective To investigate the changes of monocyte chemoattractant protein-1(MCP-1)in serum and urine of lupus nephritis(LN)patients in active phase and remission phase.Methods The levels of MCP-1 in serum and urine of 58 LN patients(27 of active phase and 31 of remission phase)were measured by ELISA.The correlation between the levels of MCP-1 in variant phase of LN and other relevant factors were analyzed.Results The MCP-1 levels in sera of both active phase and remission phase of LN patients were markedly higher than those in controls(548.5?347.2 ng/L and 469.1?298.4 ng/L vs 273.3?146.7 ng/L,P0.05).Conclusion The MCP-1 levels in urine of LN patients is more suitable to evaluate the activity of disease as a sensitive marker.

Objective To assess the feasibility and effectiveness of percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA)for the salvage of immature arteriovenous fistula (AVF) and to identify the incidence of arterial and venous puncture site spasm.Methods The medical records and radiological data of 88 patients with 112 interventional procedures for immature AVFs were retrospectively reviewed.Results The stenosis lesions were (2.0 ± 1.4) cm long.Technical success rate and clinical success rate were 80.4％ (78/97) and 92.8％ (90/97) for PTA via brachial artery,85.7％ (6/7) and 100％ (7/7) for PTA via vein,25％ (2/8) and 50％ (4/8) for PTA via both brachial artery and vein,respectively.Spasm of pure arterial PTA occurred in 2 patients (2.1％) and was mild and moderate.Spasm of pure venous PTA occurred in 2 patients (28.6％) and was both moderate.Spasm of combined arterial and venous PTA occurred in 3 patients (37.5％) and from being severe to completely occluded.By comparison,there were statistical differences of technical and clinical success rate (P =0.000,0.019 ; P =0.000,0.029),fistulas spasm rate was statistically significant different (P =0.000).Conclusions Endovascular therapy was effective in restoring the dysfunctional native AVFs,it was safer and more effective and with less sideeffects especially in selecting coronary balloon to treat patients without large phlebangioma and round fistulas.

Objective To investigate the clinical characteristics,diagnosis and treatment of necrotizing fasciitis (NF).Methods The authors reviewed and analyzed clinical manifestations,auxiliary examinations,treatments and prognoses of 14 patients who had been diagnosed with NF and hospitalized in the Children's Hospital of Anhui province between Jan 2007 and Sep 2013.Results Among the patients included in this study,eight cases were male and six cases were female.The average age was (15.86 ± 10.48) month,The time of abnormal temperature was (10.64 ± 5.64) d,hospital day was (29.07 ± 16.30) d,numbers of debridements were (3.07 ± 1.33) times.All patients had septic shock in which 5 cases had multiple organ failure.Diseases were found on hips (5 cases),lower limbs (4 cases),back (2 cases),perineum (2 cases),and neck (1 case).Blood culture showed staphylococcus aureus in six cases (1 case of methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus),pseudomonas aeruginosa in four cases and angina group of streptococcus pneumoniae in one case.No obvious bacteria growth was observed in three cases.CT examinations reflected subcutaneous gas formation in 11 cases but skin and subcutaneous tissue edema and fascial thickening in all cases.All cases of NF were further confirmed with soft tissue biopsies.Early symptoms resembled those of cellulitis.As the diseases progressed,other symptoms appeared such as skin ulceration,bullae formation and gas formation in the tissues.All patients were treated with surgical debridements (vacuum sealing drainage continuous drainage in 5 cases),appropriate antibiotic coverage and colloid supporting treatments.Seven patients were healed (50.00％,7/14),four had skin grafts (28.57％,4/14) and 3 died(21.43％,3/14).Six cases were found having limited physical activities in two year follow-up visits.Conclusion NF is a rare but potentially fatal disease.It is commonly found on the perineum,abdominal wall and extremities.NF can easily lead to septic shock and multiple organ failure.Early detection,surgical debridement and proper drainage along with appropriate antibiotic coverage can decrease mortality rates.
