2.Clinical significance of urine ferritin in patients with cerebral infarction

Objective To find a indicator in urine to assist diagnosis of cerebral infarction,we investigated the changes of urine ferritin in patients with cerebral infarction.Methods Collected serum from 30 healthy volunteers and 53 patients with cerebral infarction(CI),with ratio of males to females 19∶11 vs.30∶ 23,and average age was (56 ± 11) vs.(63 ± 11) respectively.Collected urine from 39 heathy volunteers and 33 patients with CI,with ratio of males to females 25∶14 vs.20∶ 13,and average age was (57 ± 10) vs.(64 ± 11) respectively.Ferritin concentration in all samples was detected with the chemical luminescence method,and the urine ferritin/urine cretinin (uFer/uCr) ratio was calculated.Differences of serum ferritin and uFer/uCr between healthy volunteers and CI patients were analyzed with the statistical software under Wilcoxon test.Urinary proteins were extracted with absolute ethanol.The extracted ferritin was displayed with Western blot for light chains and heavy chains to investigate the difference between healthy volunteers and CI patients.Results uFer/uCr was higher than that from healthy volunteers (U =292.00,P <0.05),and the median was (14.86 vs.6.22) μg/g.Moreover,after extraction of urinary proteins with alcohol,both light chains and heavy chains of ferritin in urine from CI patients were much more obvious than that from healthy volunteers.Conclusion The uFer/uCr ratio could provide a new proof to assist the diagnosis of cerebral infarction.
3.Nursing of patients with mandibular fractures treated with micro titanium plate rigid internal fixation

Objective To summarize the experience of nursing patients with mandibular fractures treated by micro rigid internal fixation.Method The following nursing methods including psychological interventions,pain intervention,dietary intervention, rehabilitation,intervention and prevention of complications were applied in the nursing care to 56 patients with mandibular fractures treated by micro rigid internal fixation.Results The surgical procedures of micro rigid internal fixation were successful,and all of them were cured and discharged.One case contracted gingivitis and another one oral ulcers,both cured by rinse with mouthwash. Conclusion Nursing intervention can improve the rehabilitative effect on patients with titanium mandibular fracture fixation,reduce the complications and improve clinical outcomes.
4.Clinical characteristics of 1 006 Chinese patients with lupus erythematosus: results from the Lupus Erythematosus Multicenter Case-control Study in Chinese populations (LEMCSC)

Objective To explore clinical characteristics of Chinese patients with lupus erythematosus (LE).Methods Data were obtained from the Lupus Erythematosus Multicenter Case-control Study in Chinese populations (LEMCSC).A unified standard was used to recruit patients and collect clinical information.The EpiData 3.1 and SPSS 18 softwares were utilized to input and analyze data respectively.Results One thousand and six patients (87.6% female) with lupus erythematosus (LE) were included in this analysis,of whom,887 (89.9% female) had systemic LE (SLE),and 119 (70.6% female) had isolated cutaneous LE (CLE).The most common involved system in SLE patients was skin (72.7%),followed by joints (69.2%),hematological system (60.8%),kidney (48.5%),serosa (18.2%),and nervous system (5.7%).The appearance of LE-specific skin manifestations was associated with an increased risk of arthritis (odds ratio [OR] =1.612,95% confidence interval [CI]:1.181-2.200),but with a decreased risk of nephritis (OR =0.218,95% CI:0.157-0.303) and serositis (OR =0.311,95% CI:0.218-0.443).The presence of acute CLE (ACLE) lesions was a risk factor for systemic involvement (OR =4.931,95% CI:3.232-7.524),while that of chronic CLE (CCLE) lesions was a protective factor for systemic involvement (OR =0.355,95% CI:0.234-0.541).The appearance of LE-nonspecific skin manifestations was closely correlated with the involvement of internal organs in patients with LE.Conclusion This study revealed main characteristics of LE patients in China and the relationship between LE-related skin lesions and internal organ involvement.
5.Comparison of three methods for measuring C reaction protein

Objective To compare the results of three methods for measuring C reaction protein.Methods 100 patients were collected from our hospital,and three different methods for measuring C reaction protein were used to analyze the level of C reaction protein.Results Correlation analysis showed that the correlation between immunoturbidimetric assay and immunochromatography was higher.The differences of three methods assayed the C reaction protein were significant (P <0.05 )among normal people by the variance analysis,but had not statistical significance among abnormal people (P >0.05).The differences among all of test peo-ple were significant(P <0.05).Conclusion Detection of C reaction protein was important for diagnose inflammatory diseases.
6.Effects of multiple interference on borderline hypertension with metabolic syndrome

ObjectiveTo investigate the effects of different therapeutic methods on borderline hypertension with metabolic syndrome patients. MethodsNinety borderline hypertension with metabolic syndrome patients were divided into three groups by random digits table with 30 cases: control group,conventional therapy group and intensive therapy group. The control group was given regular observation, the conventional therapy group took drug according to the disease situation; and the intensive therapy group not only formulated the aim of therapy, but also received diet control, sport therapy, healthy education and drug therapy. After 1 year's follow-up, the patients' changes were compared. ResultsAfter 1 year's follow-up,the levels of FPG, 2 h PG, 24 h mAlb and IMT were significantly increased(P < 0.05 ), and the levels of other index had no significant changes (P> 0.05) in control group. The levels of FPG,2 h PG,TC and TG were significantly decreased and IMT was significantly increased(P <0.05), the levels of other index had no significant changes(P > 0.05 ) in conventional therapy group. The levels of SBP, DBP, PP, FPG, 2 h PG, TC,TG,hs-CRP,24 h mAlb and HOMA-IR were significantly decreased and HDL-C, ABI were significantly increased (P < 0.01 or < 0.05 ) in intensive therapy group. After treatment, the levels of ABI and H DL-C were significantly higher and SBP, DBP, PP,TG, hs-CRP, 24 h mAlb, HOMA-IR, IMT were significantly lower in intensive therapy group than those in conventional therapy group (P < 0.01 or < 0.05 ). ConclusionsDrug therapy is efficient in borderline hypertension with metabolic syndrome patients, and intensive therapy can obviously improve the insulin resistance, to control the developing of hypertension can delay the vascular
7.Respiratory Failure Caused by Laryngotracheal Disorders in 15 Children

Objective To explore the clinical modalities and diagnosis of respiratory failure due to laryngotracheal disorders in children,in order to reduce the misdiagnosis.Methods Fifteen patients(11 cases were male,4 cases were female) with respiratory failure in Intensive Care Unit, Tianjin Children′s Hospital from Jul.2006 to Jul.2009 were selected.Data including history,characteristics and results of spiral computerized tomography(CT) and reconstruction and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) were reviewed.Results The major clinical manifestations indicated that 7 cases had laryngeal stridor,6 cases had recurrent pneumonia,5 cases had cyanosis after crying,and 12 patients were complicated with respiratory failure in 12 hours.Nine cases were recovered,3 cases were given up,and 3 cases died.All patients were performed with CT about laryngohypopharynx,and the results were cyst of root of tongue in 3 cases,trachea pressed by cyst of parapharyngeal space in 1 case.There were 11 cases examined by spiral CT and reconstruction,in which 6 cases were confirmed as tracheal stenosis,2 cases were left bifid tracheostoma,2 cases were pulmonary artery sling,and 1 case was diagnosed as tracheomalacia.Chest X-ray radiograph indicated that bronchopneumonia in 8 cases,bronchitis in 3 cases and negative in 4 cases.Echocardiograph examination was performed among 11 cases,in which 2 cases were pulmonary artery sling,2 cases were atrial septal defect,1 case was patent ductus arteriosus, and 6 cases were negative.Conclusions There is high morbidity of respiratory failure caused by laryngotracheal disorders in infants,but misdiagnosis ccures usually because of non-specific symptoms.If the infant must depend on mechanic ventilation for a long time and has airway obstruction,he should be examined early by using spiral CT.
8.Effect of low frequency stimulation and rehabilitation training on stroke patients

ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of low frequency stimulation on motor function of stroke patients.Methods50 stroke patients were randomly divided into control group and treatment group with 25 cases in each group. Patients of control group received neuromedical and Bobath technical treatment; cases of treatment group received low frequency stimulation besides the above two methods. All patients were assessed respectively with the Fugl-Meyer Assessment and Clinical Nerve Function Impaired Scale at the admission and on 20 days after treatment.ResultsThe motor functions of both groups were improved (P<0.05). But the recovery of treatment group was superior to the control group (P<0.05).ConclusionLow frequency stimulation can promote the stroke patients' motor function recovery.
9.Effect of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ agonist on prostate epithelial cells

Objective To assess the effect of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPARγ) agonist on prostate epithelial cells in vitro.Methods The expression of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ(PPARγ) was studied by immunocytochemistry and immunofluorescence study.The RWPE-1 human prostate epithelial cell line was treated with PPARγ agonist rosiglitazone 100 μmol/L for 48 h.Analysis of apoptosis was performed by Caspase 3/7 activity assay.Mitochondria depolarization was measured by using the potential-sensitive color,JC-1.The expression of apoptosis-related proteins-Bax was investigated by immunohistochemistry.Results PPARγ mainly located in nucleus and perinucleus.RWPE-1 cell line treated with PPARγ agonist rosiglitazone showed higher Caspase 3/7 activity (10636±1032 RLU) than in control (5936±620 RLU),P<0.01 and significantly upregulated Bax level (8250±694 vs.6017±563)than in control group,P<0.01.In addition,mitochondrial membrane potential was depolarized in rosiglitazone treated cells.Conclusions PPARmay play important roles in the pathophysiology of BPH.The mechanism might be that PPARγ regulates cell apoptosis.It is suggested that the mitochondrial and Bax pathway might be involved in signaling PPARγ induced cell apoptosis.
10.The effect of the JAK/STAT signal pathway on apoptosis-related gene in the synovial tissue of rat rheumatoid arthritis

Objective To explore the effect of the JAK/STAT signal pathway on the apoptosis-related gene in the synovial tissue of rat rheumatoid arthritis (RA).Methods Fifty rat models of collagen-induced arthritis,whose arthritis index was more than 2,were divided into the model group,the low dose of AG490 group,the medium dose of AG490 group and the high dose of AG490 group.In addition,6 rats were treated intraperitoneal injection.Then,the arthritis index and the change of apoptosis-related genes were compared.Multiple-sample average was analyzed by single-factor x2 test and LSD-t or Tamhane's T 2 test were used for two-two comparison.Results The arthritis index of the model group increased evidently,and the apoptosis inhibitor Bcl-2,Bcl-xl gene and protein expression was up-regulated,which was significantly different when compared with that of the control group(0.931±0.035 vs 0.351±0.024,0.920±0.037 vs 0.271±0.029,0.322±0.047 vs 0.230±0.031 ).The expression of apoptosis promoting factor Bax wasslightly up-regulated.The blockage of JAK/STAT pathway cotld down-regulate the expression levels of the gene and protein of survivins Bcl-2 and Bcl-xl,and up-regulate the gene and protein expressions of Bax.Conclusion In the process of RA development,apoptosis inhibitor Bcl-2,Bcl-xl gene and protein expression is up-regulated.JAK/STAT signal transduction pathway regulates the apoptosis process.
