Wistar rats, fed laborotory stock diets, were randomly divided into three groups, given cholesterol oxides (Och) and purified cholesterol (Pch) (at a dosage of 250mg/kg/day), and gelatin (control group) through stomach tube for 2 successive days. In the first part of the experiment, Evans blue, dissolved in normal saline, was injected into the tail veins 18 hrs after last tube feeding and the rats were killed 2 hrs following the injection, The aorta were excised for determination of the endothelial permeability by fluorophotometry. In the second part of the experiment, the rats were sacrificed 24 hrs after last tube feeding. The aorta were prepared for the observation of the aortic endothelium under scanning electronic microscope. The results showed that the endothelial permeability of rats fed Och was much higher than those fed Pch and gelatin (P0.05). Scanning electron microscopic observation showed that severe endothelial damage occ-ured in the Och rats, while the aortic endothelium from the rats fed Pch revealed relatively mild degeneration. Results were briefly disscussed.

Objective To evaluate the effect of autophagy-related factors LC3 and Bnip-3 and apoptosis related factors Bcl-2 and Bax on brain damage in experimental diabetic rats .Methods Thirty SD rats were randomly divided into diabetic group and control group .The diabetic group was injected with 1% streptozotocin ( 60 mg/kg body mass ) and the control group with citrate buffer .The rats were sacrificed after 12 weeks feeding and brain tissues were obtained .Pathological chan-ges were observed and the expression of LC 3, Bnip-3, Bcl-2 and Bax in brain tissues of the rats was detected by immuno-histochemical SP method .Results Compared with the control group ,the diabetic rat brain pathology showed that the cell arrangment was more disorderly and distributed more unevenly , the cell body was smaller , cytoplasm was lighter red , and the number of nerve cells of normal morphology was smaller .The positive number of LC3, Bnip-3 and Bax in brain tissues of diabetic rats was significantly larger than in the control group ,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). However ,the positive number of Bcl-2 was significantly smaller than in the control group ,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.001).In diabetic rats, LC3 and Bnip-3 showed a weak positive correlation(P<0.05), Bcl-2 and Bax were irrelevant, Bnip-3 and Bax were positively weakly-correlated(P<0.05),Bcl-2 was not correlated;and Bcl-2 and Bax were irrelevant.Conclusion LC3,Bnip-3 and Bax in the brain tissue of diabetic rats are overexpressed , while Bcl-2 shows weak expression , indicating that autophagy factors and apoptotic factors are involved in the process of brain injury in diabet -ic rats, which may be one of the mechanisms of brain tissue damage .

Objective To investigate the effects of acupuncture at bilateral ST36 (Zusanli) on attention networks in healthy subjects.Methods The attention network test was used to compare the effects of after acupuncture at ST36 with the effects of before acupuncture on the efficiency of three anatomically defined attention networks:alerting,orienting,and executive control in 40 health university students.Results The alerting network effect was significantly higher (t=4.125,P＜0.001) after acupuncture ((45.60±3.49) ms) than before acupuncture ((33.20±2.88) ms).The executive control network efficiency was significantly higher (t=2.638,P＜0.05) after acupuncture ((87.97±4.21) ms) than before acupuncture ((97.67±4.66) ms).The orienting network efficiency was higher after acupuncture than before acupuncture,but there was no significant difference (P＞0.05).The average reaction time was significantly lower (t=4.848,P＜0.001) after acupuncture ((559.13 ± 10.66) ms) than before acupuncture ((590.57±12.80) ms).Conclusions These results suggest that there are selective enhancements of the alerting and executive control networks after acupuncture,while the orienting network is spared.

Objective Use MRS technology to detect in vivo Glx concentration of Zelanian rabbits' muscle.Methods Tweenty Zelanian rabbits are collected,SS-PRESS sequence is applied to check their Signal Ratio of Glx/TCr.After deta collection,draw blood and do the biopsy of the FOV's muscle tissue immediately.Mensurate the rabbits' blood Crn concentration,Glx and TCr concentration in muscle.Research the correlation between the above factors,attempt using the MRS Glx/TCr Signal Ratio and blood Crn concentration to predict muscular Glx concentration.Results The correlation between MRS Glx/TCr Peak Ratio and muscular Glx/blood Crn concentration ratio is 0.681.A linear regression formula is obtained: The predict Value of Glx concentration in muscle(?mol/g muscle)= Glx/TCr Peak Ratio ? Crn concentration in blood(mg/dl)?28.754-0.631.Conclusion Using a linear regression formula to predict the muscular Glx concentration,the results can reflect the level of the true values without biopsy,though it's not accurate enough for quantitatively analysis.

Cathepsin B from Helicoverpa armigera (HCB) belongs to the group of cysteine proteinases. HCB is proved being involved in the degradation of yolk proteins during embryonic development,which is an acidic preferring enzyme and is resistant to SDS. The expression of the proenzyme may offer a model for investigating the activation of the enzyme. The HCB gene was constructed into pPIC9K and expressed in Pichia pastoris KM71 strain . After induction by methanol, HCB was expressed and secreted into the medium. The molecular weight of the recombinant procathepsin B was determined as about 38 kDa. The expressed product was confirmed to be HCB by immunoblotting assay using specific rabbit anti-HCB polyclonal antibody. The activity of the product was assayed by in situ hydrolysis (gelatin-SDS-PAGE). These results showed that HCB with proteolytic activity was expressed in P. pastoris KM71. This proenzyme can be used for further research on the activation of the proenzyme or industrial production.

Objective To evaluate the short term effect of bipolar arthroplasties in aged cases with intertrochanteric fractures.Methods There were 23 males and 15 females(at age of 70-93 years, average 76 years)with unstable intertrochanteric fractures treated with the third generation cementing techniques and bipolar arthroplasties that were followed up for average 2.4 years.The clinical effect was evaluate with Harris scale,X-ray films and complications.Results Of all,34 cases(89.5%)could walk freely.The average Harris scale was 84.2 points.The average period until walk with full-weight load was 5.6 weeks.The greater trochanters was united in 35 cases(92%)during average 4.2 months.No peri-prothetic ossteolysis and loosening or subsidence occurred.Conclusions Cemented bipolar arthro- plasty has good advantages of reduced laying up period and few complications.The short-term outcome is satisfactory hut the long-term outcome needs deeper observation.

Objective: To explore the relationship between the ratio of neutrophil/lymphocyte (NLR) and in-hospital major adverse cardiac events (MACE) in patients with acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) at early admission.
Methods: A total of 420 acute STEMI patients admitted and received primary PCI in our hospital from 2010-01 to 2014-12 were retrospectively studied. The patients were divided into 2 groups:In-hospital MACE group, n=47 and Normal discharged group, n=373. Uni-and multivariate analyses were conducted to assess whether high NLR is the independent predictor for in-hospital MACE occurrence.
Results: Univariate regression analysis indicated that the occurrence rate of in-hospital MACE in high NLR patients were higher than those in low NLR patients (OR=3.19, 95%CI 1.55-2.65, P=0.012). Multivariate regression analysis showed that high NLR was the independent risk factor for in-hospital MACE occurrence in STEMI patients (OR=3.05, 95%CI 1.59-10.54, P=0.015).
Conclusion: High NLR is the independent risk factor for in-hospital MACE occurrence in STEMI patients at the early admission.

Objective:To know the amount of literacy and scores of behavior problems of the grade 2-5 pupils in the primary school,and explore the correlation between them.Methods:A total of 673 pupils from grade 2 to 5 in primary school of Nanhai distric,Foshan City were enrolled.Their amount of literacy was assessed with the Primary School Literacy Assessment Scale,and their teachers were assessed with the Conners Teacher Rating Scale.Results:The amount of literacy in different grades,genders and parents' education levels were significantly different among the primary school students (P ＜0.05),girls's scores were higher than boys's [(2312 ±719) vs.(2184 ±734),P ＜ 0.05],students whose parents of high education level were higher than those of low education level (P ＜ 0.05).Scores of hyperactivity,inattentive-passive behaviors and conduct problems in different grades and genders were significantly different.Scores of Grade 2 pupils were higher than others,and boys's scores were higher than girls' s (P ＜ 0.05).Three factors of CTRS,including conduct problems (r =-0.31),hyperactivity (r =-0.43) and inattentive-passive behaviors (r =-0.36) and hyperactivity index(r =-0.38) had significantly negative correlation with the amount of literacy (P ＜ 0.001).Regression analysis showed that hyperactivity (β =-22.27,P ＜ 0.01) and conduct problems (β =-17.69,P ＜ 0.01) could significantly explain the amount of literacy (R2 =0.81).Conclusion:It suggests that hyperactivity and conduct problems are moderately associated with the amount of literacy in primary pupils.

Objective To determine attention networks impairmnet in patients with localized brain injury and to examine the characteristics of the impairment.Methods The attention network test was used to compare patients(n=59)with controls(n=53)on the efficiency of 3 anatomically defined attention networks:alerting,orienting,and executive control.Results Firstly,patients with frontal lobe injury showed a significant deficit in the executive network(frontal lobe injury,controls:(143.7±46.6),(91.6±46.4)ms,Z=-4.714,P＜0.01)and also a significant deficit in the orienting network(frontal lobe injury,controls:(71.2±35.2),(55.1±21.8)ms,Z=-2.125,P＜0.05).There was no deficit in the alerting network(Z=-0.901,P＞0.05).Secondly,the orienting network effect was significantly lower in patients with parietal lobe injury((34.9±25.2)ms)than in normal controls((55.1±21.8)ms.Z=-2.418.P＜0.05).However,there were no significant difierences between the other two networks and between the patients and the controls(Z=-1.873,-0.186.P＞0.05).Thirdly,patients with temporal lobe injury showed no deficit in the three networks(Z=-0.037,-1.224,-0.718,all P＞0.05)as well as in overall RT and accuracy(Z=-1.385,-0.699,all P＞0.05).Conclusions These results suggest that there are selective impairments of the orienting and executive networks in patients with the frontal lobe and the parietal lobe injury,while the alerting network is spared.Furthermore,the frontallobe plays a key role in the executive control.meanwhile,the orienting network is closely related with the parietal lobe.

BACKGROUND:Although drug treatment.physics-behavior therapy,and postoperative therapy have been commonly used to treat stress urinary incontinence(SUI),there is still no satisfactory treatment at present.OBJECTlVE:To build a stable animal model simulating stress urinary incontinence(SUI)by bilateral transaction of pudendal nerve and nerves innervating pelvic floor muscles,including iliococcygeous muscle and pubococcygeous muscle.METHODS:A total of 18 6-week-old female SD rats weighing(1 99.44±8.41)g were randomly divided into 3 groups:normal,model,and sham-surgery groups,with 6 rats in each group.Rats in the model group underwent bilateral transaction of pudendal nerves and nerves innervating iliococcygeous/pubococcygeous muscles,while rats in the sham-surgery group had same procedures except nerve transaction.The normal group did not undergo any operation.Each rat was subjected to measure leak point pressure(LPP)at 2 weeks after the operation.After the measurement of LPP,cross sections of connection area of bladder and urethra were sent to histology.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:One rat in the sham-surgery group died at 1 week after the operation.The LPP of model group decreased significantly by approximately 33%compared with the normal group(P＜0 05):however,there was no significant difference in LPP between sham-surgery and normal groups(P＞0.05).The results of histology showed loosely arrangement and atrophy of urethral sttriated muscle fibers in rats of the model group.Bilateral transaction of pudendal nerves and nerves innervating to iliococcygeous/pubococcygeous muscles resulted in SUI in rats stably.
