Purpose:To investigate the influence of doxorubicin chemotherapy on overexpression of epithelial growth factor. Methods:Cancer animal model was made and treated with doxorubicin. The concentration of EGF protein in Plasma and mRNA in cancer tissue were detected by ELISA and Real-time quantitative RT-PCR respectively and the correlation of this parameter was evaluated. Results:The plasma concentrations of EGF expression were 3X Group 1.19?0.42 pg/ml, 1X Group 1.61?0.51 pg/ml, control group 2.13?0.68 pg/ml, and normal 0.91?0.33 pg/ml respectively. The concentration of EGF were analysed by ANOVA q test. The median concentrations of mRNA were 3X Group 1.6?10 3 copies/ml, 1X Group 8.5?10 4 copies/ml, control 4?10 5 copies/ml, and normal 2.5?10 2 copies/ml respectively, and were analysed by rank-sum test. It was shown that the control group had higher EGF and EGFR expression level than those treated with doxorubicin. This study reviewed the reasons for encounter (RFE),diagnoses and the diagnostic categories of patients aged 0-14 y in general practice clinic affiliated to a tertiary hospital from June 2011 to May 2012.The results showed that the most frequent RFE was cough,at a rate of 29.6 per 100 encounters;the second one was fever (21.4％) and the third was nasal problems (9.5％).Medical examinations,skin rashes and follow-up encounters occurred at equal rates (5.2％).The most frequent diagnosis was acute upper respiratory tract infection (41％).Medical examination (6.3％),other viral diseases (5.1％),pneumonia (3.6％) and no detected disease (3.6％) were also common diagnoses.The diagnostic categories included all systems,and the problems of the respiratory system (56.4％) were most common.The results suggest that pediatric care comprises a very important part of primary care.

ObjectiveTo evaluate whether endometrial blood flow measured by three-dimensional power Doppler ultrasound can predict pregnacy after the treatment of in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET).MethodsNinty women who received the treatment of IVF-ET examined by threedimensional power Doppler imaging at the day of inject human chorionic gonadotropin(HCG) were enrolled.All patients were divided into pregnancy group (43 cases,include biochemical pregnancy and clinical pregnancy ) and non-pregnancy group(47 cases).The diagnostic value of parameters derived from threedimensional power Doppler imaging was evaluated by using the receiver operating characteristic (ROC)curve.ResultsDifferences of these parameters,including vascularization index (VI),flow index(Fl) and vascularization flow index (VFI)were considered statistically significant between two groups,the parameters of uterine artery and endometrial volume had no significant differences between two groups.The area under ROC curve of VI,FI and VFI were 0.880,0.713 and 0.646,respectively.Among these parameters,VI had the highest diagnostic value for discriminating between benign and malignant endometrium,the cut-off value of which was 0.733 with a sensitivity of 84.2％.Conclusions Threedimensional power Doppler ultrasound was useful for evaluating endometrial blood flow in IVF-ET cycles.Endometrial blood flow parameters may be useful predictors for pregnancy.

Objective To evaluate the value of three-dimensional power Doppler imaging(3D-PDI) in the discrimination between benign and malignant endometrium in women with postmenopausal bleeding. Methods Eighty-four women with post menopausal bleeding who examined by 3D-PDI were enrolled. All patients scheduled for pathological examination were divided into benign group (30 cases with endometrial polyps and 34 cases with hyperplasia) and malignant group (20 cases with endometrial carcinoma). Endometrial volume, vascularity index ( VI) , flow index ( FI) and vascularity flow index ( VFI) were measured. The diagnostic value of parameters derived from 3D-PDI was evaluated by using the receiver operating characteristic ( ROC) curve. Results Differences of these parameters (VI, FI and VFI) were considered statistically significant between two groups, the parameters of endometrial volume had no significant differences between two groups; the area under ROC curve(AUC) of the meaningful data were 0.976,0.888 and 0.894 respectively. Among these parameters, VI had the highest diagnostic value for discriminating between benign and malignant endometrium, the cut-off value of which was 2. 97 with a sensitivity of 95% and a specificity of 86%. Conclusions 3D-PDI is a good diagnostic tools in the discriminations between benign and malignant endometrium in women with postmenopausal bleeding.

BACKGROUND: Recently, several scientists have found that differentiation of neural stem cells (NSCs) towards dopaminergic neurons may be increased in vitro by combination of some special cytokines. They have also found that dopaminergic neurons differentiated from NSCs can be used for the treatment of Parkinsn's disease. To improve the therapeutic effects of/n vitro transplantation, we should further study the biologic characteristics of NSCs at the induction and differentiation.OBJECTIVE: To explore the differentiation of NSCs which were incubated in differentiation solution for different time towards dopaminergic neurons in vitro.DESIGN: Single sample observation.SETTING: Department of Neurosurgery, First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University.MATERIALS: This study was performed at the Department of Ncurosurgery, First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University from May to October 2007. Six healthy Sprague Dawley (SD) rats, gestational age 14 days, of clean grade, weighing 350-400 g,were provided by the Laboratory Animal Center, Sun Yat-sen University[permission No. SCXK (yue)2007-0034]. The protocol was performed in accordance with ethical guidelines for the use and care of animals.METHODS: NSCs derived from rat embryonic mesencephalon were cultured in serum-free culture medium containing epidermal growth factors and basic fibroblast growth factors. After passage, the NSCs were induced to differentiate towards dopaminergic neurons in the differentiation medium supplemented with interleukin 1o, interleukinl 1, human leukaemia inhibitory factors, and glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factors. The percentage of tyrosine hydroxylase positive neurons in differentiated ceils was detected with flow cytometer when NSCs were cultured in differentiation solution for 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 days, respectively.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Cellular morphological alteration of rat NSCs after differentiation. The percentage of tyrosine hydroxylase positive neurons in differentiated cells derived from NSCs.RESULTS: In differentiation medium, NSC spheres attached the bottom of plates and began to collapse. Cells inside the spheres grew out gradually and became irregular in shape. Six days later, most of the cells had I or 2 long processes and a few short processes. The percentage of tyrosine hydroxylase positive neurons in differentiated cells was respectively (3.2_+_0.9)%, (6.8 +1.6)%, (16.7-+2.6)%, (14.8_+1.8)% and (12.2_+2.5)% after culture for 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 days, with significant differences (F =26.449, P ＜ 0.05).CONCLUSION: Induction time influences the differentiation of NSCs towards dopaminergic neurons in vitro. The percentage of dopaminergic neurons is the highest in differentiated cells derived from NSCs which are cultured in differentiation solution for 6 days.
