Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of multislice CT(MSCT)in multilocular cystic real cell carcinoma(MCRCC).Methods Imaging features of 22 patients with MCRCC proved by histopathologic examinations,these patients were underwent non-enhanced and dual-phase contrast-enhanced CT scans and evaluated CT signs.Results 22 tumors all appeared as well defined multilocular cystic mass.The cystic wall presented with irregular thicking in 14 cases and regular thicking in 8 cases.The tumors with thin coarse septum in 6 cases(the transverse diameter ≤2 mm),irregular thicking septum in 11cases(2mm ＜the transverse diameter ≤ 5 mm)and septum with nodule in 5 cases(the transverse diameter ≤ 5 mm).Cystic wall and septum enhancement were detected with dual-phase contrast-enhanced CT.Cystic ares and hemorrhagic areas and calcification were no enhanced.Calcification of cystic wall were found in 2 cases and cyst in 3 cases.Conclusion MSCT imaging appearances have typical features.It has great important value in the preoperative diagnosis of MCRCC with non-enhanced and dual-phase contrast-enhanced CT scans.

Objective To identify the factors enhancing the contusive brain hemorrhage following unilateral decompression craniectomy in patients with severe traumatic brain injury (TBI),and to explore the relationship between the initial Rotterdam CT score and clinical outcomes.Methods A prospective study of 291 consecutive patients with TBI admitted from Jan 2008 through Dec 2012 was carried out.Patients treated with unilateral decompression craniectomy were enrolled for study.Patients without preoperative or postoperative cranial CT imaging were excluded.Of them,235 patients were followed up.Gender,age,the causes of injury,preoperative general condition including Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score,pupillary response,laboratory data and the initial CT scans before operation,contusion hematoma size in CT scans following operation and Glasgow Outcome Scale (GOS) score were recorded.With t test,x2 test and nonparametric rank sum test,differences in the above listed variables were compared between patients with enlarged hematoma size group and those without change in hematoma size.A Classification And Regression Tree (CART) was used to predict the size of hematoma.Correlation analysis was used to find the relationship between the Rotterdam CT scores and GOS scores.Results The differences in age (t =2.034,P =0.043),first Rotterdam CT score (Z =4.838,P ＜ 0.01),GCS score (Z =4.440,P ＜ 0.01),pupillary response (Z =3.235,P =0.001),the length of time elapsed between the trauma occurred and the decompressive craniectomy (Z =3.874,P ＜ 0.01),glucose level (Z =3.880,P ＜ 0.01) and cerebrum hernia magnitude (Z =2.529,P =0.012) were significant between the patients with hematoma expanded (n =120) and those without change in hematoma size (n =115).The results of the CART indicated that Rotterdam score got from the initial head CT,glucose level and the length of time elapsed between trauma occurred and decompressive craniectomy were strong predictors of the risk for expanded hemorrhagic contusions following decompressive craniectomy.Both age and size of the removed bone-flap also could predict the risk of postoperative expansion of hemorrhagic contusions.The overall predictive accuracy of the CART model was 83.3％.Correlation analysis results indicated that Rotterdam CT score was negatively correlated with GOS (r =-0.333,P ＜ 0.01).Conclusions Initial Rotterdam CT scores,glucose level and the length of time between trauma and decompressive craniectomy may predict the risk of contusions expansion following decompressive craniectomy.Rotterdam CT score was negatively correlated with GOS.

Objective: This study was designed to assess the protective effects of high-dose aprotinin on isolated rat hearts from ischemia-reperfusion injury. Method: The study consisted of two groups of rats. An isolated rat working heart model was established. Group A (n=16), received cardioplegia with high-dose aprotinin. Group B (n=16), received same cardioplegia only. The rat hearts were perfused for 30 minutes, then arrested for 40 minutes and reperfused for 30 minutes. The hemodynamic parameters, myocardial creatine kinase (CK) and myocardial ultrastructure were measured before ischemia and during reperfusion. Results: Recovery of cardial function, coronary flow and myocardial ultrastructure in group A was significantly better. CK level was lower in group A. Conclusion: High-dose aprotinin (1×106 KIU/L) may reduce myocardial ischemic and reperfusion injuries.

Objective To investigate the effects of lead on the vitality, differentiation, special functional markers and morphological changes of the osteoblasts in newborn rats, which helps to clarify the toxicity mechanism of lead on the skeleton development in children. Methods The osteoblasts were isolated from the calvariae in newborn Wistar rats and cultured in DMEM medium. Lead acetate at different concentration (0, 0.1, 0.5, 1, 5, 10, 50, 100 ?mol/L) was added for 24 h, 48 h, 72 h. The vitality of the osteoblasts was measured by MTT methods; The activity of alkaline phosphatase(ALP) was measured by pNPP method. The protein content of the osteoblasts was determined by Coomassie brilliant blue method. The levels of osteocalcin in both secreted (in medium) and cellular of osteoblasts were determined by radiate immunochemistry methods. The optical structure was determined by LM. Results The vitality decreased significantly when the dose was at more than 50 ?mol/L, especially after 72 h. The activity of ALP decreased significantly when more than 0.5 ?mol/L, whereas the levels of secreted osteocalcin decreased significantly when at 0.1 ?mol/L. It appeared lead had some toxicity on the shape and number on the osteoblasts. Conclusion Lead acetate has adverse effect, at higher doses, on the vitality, protein content, ALP, osteocalcin and optical structure, maybe it is one of the mechanisms of lead influencing the development of the osteoblasts even the skeleton.

Purpose: To report the treatment result of astrocytoma of the brain treated by operation combined radiotherapy. Materials and Methods: 70 patients with brain astrocytoma were treated by radiotherapy after operation from January, 1978 to January, 1989. The radiation dose ranged from 40～64Gy/5～7wks. Results: The 1-,3- and 5-year survival were 91.7%,55.8% and 45.0%,respectively. Conclusion: Radiotherapy is necessary for patients with brain astrocytoma after operation.

Objective To observe the regulatory effect and significance of hydrogen sulfide (H2 S)on low -density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR).Methods Mouse primary hepatocytes were divided into control group,low -den-sity lipoprotein (LDL)group and LDL +sodium hydrosulfide (NaHS,the donor of H2 S)group.The cells in LDL group were treated with LDL (50 mg/L)and the cells in LDL +NaHS group were pretreated with NaHS (100 μmol/L)for 0.5 hours and then treated with LDL (50 mg/L).Real -time PCR and Western blot were used to detect the expres-sions of LDLR mRNA and protein,respectively.Mouse primary hepatocytes were divided into control group,1,1′-dioctadecyl -3,3,3′,3′-tetramethyl -indocarbocyanine perchlorate low -density lipoprotein (DiI -LDL)group and DiI -LDL +NaHS group.The cells in DiI -LDL group were incubated with DiI -LDL (10 mg/L)for 3 hours.The cells in DiI -LDL +NaHS group were pretreated with NaHS (100 μmol/L)for 1 hour before DiI -LDL (10 mg/L) was added.Confocal method was used to measure the uptake of DiI -LDL by mouse primary hepatocytes,and fluores-cent quantitative method was performed to detect the content of DiI -LDL in the supernatant of mouse primary hepato-cytes.Results The levels of LDLR mRNA and protein in the mouse primary hepatocytes were significantly downregu-lated compared with those in the control group (t =5.733,P <0.01;t =2.527,P <0.05);after NaHS was adminis-tered,LDLR mRNA and protein level in the mouse primary hepatocytes were significantly upregulated (t =-7.639, P <0.01;t =2.388,P <0.05).In the mouse primary hepatocytes,compared with that in the control group,the uptake of DiI -LDL by cells in DiI -LDL group was increased;the uptake of DiI -LDL by mouse primary hepatocytes in DiI -LDL +NaHS group was significantly increased in comparison with that in the DiI -LDL group.Compared with that in the control group,the DiI -LDL content of culture supernatant in the DiI -LDL group was significantly increased (t =-39.156,P <0.01);after treatment with H2 S donor,the content of DiI -LDL in the culture supernatant was sig-nificantly decreased in comparison with that in the mouse primary hepatocytes without H2 S donor treatment (t =17.202,P <0.01).Conclusion H2 S upregulated the expression of LDLR protein in the mouse primary hepatocytes.

A sensitive and reliable liquid chromatography-electrospray ionisation-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS/MS) method was established to simultaneously quantitate four categories of compounds (isoflavonoids, flavonoids, alkaloids and saponins) in Gegen-Qinlian decoction (GQD). These compounds were separated by a Shiseido CAPCELL PAK C18 column with a linear gradient consisting of 0.1% (v/v) formic acid in water (A) and 0.1% (v/v) formic acid in acetonitrile (B), and delivered at a flow rate of 0.3 mL/min. All the analytes were determined by electrospray positive ionization tandem mass spectrometry in a multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mode. Linearity, accuracy, precision, recovery and stability of the method were evaluated with the validation over the range of 4.0-538 5 ng/mL. The proposed method was applied to the analysis of a Chinese herbal preparation GQD successfully.

Objective:To study the functional connectivity (FC) and metabolic effective connectivity (MEC) patterns of the default mode network (DMN) in healthy male adults based on a novel hybrid PET/MR system.Methods:Fifteen healthy male adults with median age of 29 years were recruited locally in Xi′an from January to May 2019. All subjects went through PET/MR scan to get the whole brain 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) PET, resting-state functional MRI (fMRI) and magnetization prepared rapid gradient echo (MPRAGE) T 1 weighted imaging data. CONN18b and statistical parametric mapping (SPM) 12 softwares were used to analyze data. The voxel-wise FC and FDG metabolic data were extracted within 4 sub-networks of DMN, which included medial prefrontal cortex (MPFC), posterior cingulate cortex (PCC) and bilateral lateral parietal (LP). The FC and MEC between 4 sub-networks were calculated based on merged resting-state fMRI and metabolic data, and analyzed by one-sample t test separately, with Bonferroni correction. Results:FC pathways were all significant within 4 sub-networks of DMN ( t values: 6.00-7.71, all P<0.008, Bonferroni corrected). Meanwhile, there were significant bi-directional MEC between MPFC and PCC(MPFC to PCC: t=10.03; PCC to MPFC: t=3.73, both P<0.004, Bonferroni corrected), as well as between bilateral LP (LP_L to LP_R: t=5.28; LP_R to LP_L: t=4.76, both P<0.004, Bonferroni corrected). There were significant uni-directional MEC from both MPFC and PCC to bilateral LP ( t values: 3.44-6.93, all P<0.004, Bonferroni corrected). Conclusions:Special FC and MEC patterns exist within DMN. The closely interrelated MPFC and PCC play more important roles in DMN, and they may mediate LP jointly. The novel integrated PET/MR system will bring new perspective on the organization of brain networks, which may deepen the comprehensive understanding of DMN.

Background and purpose:The E-cadherin as a pivotal structural protein is important for cellular polarity and maintainance of normal tissue morphology and cellular differentiation. Recently some study investigated the impact of the C/A genetic polymorphism at-160 from the site of the E-cadherin gene promoter on susceptibility in NPC. To evaluate the association of the E-cadherin gene promoter-160 C/A single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) and nasopharyngeal carcinoma risk in a Chinese population, we designed a hospital-based case-control study. Methods:Subjects included in this study were 303 patients deifnitely diagnosed with NPC, and 318 matched healthy controls. We used TaqMan Probe method for analyzing polymorphism. Results:The A/A genotype was associated with increased risk of NPC after being adjusted for age and gender (adjusted OR=2.09, 95%CI:1.03-4.22, P=0.04). When 2 gender groups were analysed respectively, female group with A/A genotypes showed a higher risk (OR=7.57, 95%CI:1.57-36.47, P=0.012). Besides, among NPC patients compared with males A/A genotype, females with A/A genotype had a signiifcant risk(OR=2.66, 95%CI:1.14-6.20, P=0.024). Conclusion:The A/A genotype of E-cadherin promoter-160 C/A might be genetic risk factor for NPC, especially female patients.
