Past decade,plants as production systems for recombinant proteins has been actively investigated,and is one of the most active research fields in life sciences. Plants are attractive as protein factories because they with advantages of cost,scale,and safety,and emerge capability to produce pharmaceutical production with bioactivity proved by previously studies. The plant-made pharmaceuticals possess enormous viability for market and wide prospects for application. Based on those reasons,the rise of plant bioreactor was reviewed,and research advance on the expression systems and plant-made recombinant proteins was introduced. Bottleneck problems and adopted strategies using plant system to produce recombinant proteins and research hotspot in the near future were summarized,and prospect of plant bioreactor in future was described. Synchronously,some opinions including research progress of plant bioreactor,differences to foreign and strategies in the future were discussed.

Objective To study the expression changes of IL-1β、FN-α6、IFN-γ and TNFR-m18 in peripheral blood within 2 hours in epileptic mice. Methods Semi quantitative real-time PCR was used to test the mRNA expres?sion level of IL-1β、FN-α6、IFN-γand TNFR-m18 in peripheral blood from normal and pilocarpine-induced epileptic mice at different time points (10 min, 30 min, 1 h and 2 h). Results The mRNA expression level of IL-1βincreased at 30 min(1.8±0.07), 1 h(2.9±0.98)and 2 h(1.45±0.11)after pilocarpine-induced status epilepticus comparing with that of control and SE 10 min(0.81±0.09)(P<0.05). The IFN-α6 mRNA expression level was lower at 10 min(0.59±0.05, P<0.05) than that of control. IFN-γmRNA expression level was higher at 10 min(2.85±0.11) than that of control and at oth?er time points during SE(P<0.01). TNFR-m18 mRNA expression level was higher at 1h(2.84±0.15) than that of control, and at other time points during SE(P<0.01). Conclusion The immune system of epileptic state is active, the imbalance of cytokine expression in peripheral blood may be related to the immune pathological process of acute stage of epilepsy.

Aim To investigate the effect of sulfur dioxide (SO2) on blood pressure and aortic structure of the spontaneous hypertensive rat(SHR).Methods Sixteen male SHRs at the age of 4 weeks were randomly divided into SHR control group and SHR+Na2SO3/NaHSO3 group,respectively.Another eight male WKY rats served as WKY control group.Five weeks later, the blood pressure was determined.The rat aortas were dyed with Hart's Method. The morphometric parameters including outer radius, lumen radius and the wall thickness were calculated by Leica workstation. Objective To investigate the characteristics of healthcare-associated infection(HAI) in elderly hospitalized patients,and analyze the risk factors for HAL Methods Incidences of HAI in elderly(elderly group) and non-elderly hospitalized patients (control) in a tertiary first-class hospital were investigated,the underlying diseases,infection sites,department distribution and so on between two groups of patients were compared.Results The incidence of HAI in elderly group was higher than that in control group(3.38 ％ vs 1.45 ％,P＜0.05);the proportions of hypertension and diabetes mellitus in elderly group was higher than control group,while cerebrovascular disease was lower than control group.The proportion of lower respiratory tract infection,urinary system infection and antimicrobial-associated diarrheal in the elderly were higher than control group(41.62％ vs 28.00％,15.44％ vs 12.02％,6.03％ vs 3.15％,respectively).The incidence of catheter-associated urinary tract infection in the elderly group was higher than that in control group(6.85‰ vs 3.95‰,RR95％CI =1.209-2.485,P＜0.05).The proportion of HAI in the elderly group in internal medicine departments was higher than that in control group (52.71％ vs 40.03％),while in intensive care unit was lower than control group (33.52％ vs 41.19％).Conclusion The characteristics of HAI in elderly patients are closely related to their demographic characteristics,early prevention of HAI in key sites should be carried out according to its characteristics.

Objective To study the diagnostic and therapeutic value of 1.4-metre colonoscope for upper jejunum lesions. Methods From 2008 to 2009, patients with suspected upper jejunum lesions, who presented as obscure gastrointestinal bleeding or other digestive symptoms and got no definite diagnosis from gastroscopy and entire digestive tract barium meal, were recruited as experimental group (n = 115) and underwent an examination with 1.4-metre endoscope. The endoscope was inserted into proximal jejunum, biopsy or treatment was performed according to the found lesions. Another 115 patients from 2004 to 2007, who presented with similar situation but were examined with gastroscope, were recruited as control group. Results Descending duodenum was accessed successfully in all cases from 2 groups. Horizontal duodenum was accessed in 112 and 107 cases of experimental group and control, respectively (97. 39% vs. 93.04%, P ＞0. 05), while the ascending part was accessed in 109 and 72 cases, respectively (94.78% vs. 62.61%, P＜0.005), and the proximal jejunum was accessed in 102 and 35 cases, respectively (88.70% vs. 30. 43%, P ＜ 0. 005). A total of 31 (26. 96%) lesions were found in experimental group, which was significantly higher than that in control group (6/115, 5.22%, P ＜0.005). Biopsy or endoscopic management was performed in 20 cases from experimental group, in which 12 occupying lesions were confirmed by pathology and surgery. In control group, 1 case of stromal tumor, 1 adenocarcinma, 1 P-J syndrome and 3 ancylostomiasis at horizontal duodenum were confirmed. Conclusion 1.4-metre endoscope can be inserted deeper than gastroscope, and is of better diagnostic value for bleeding in descending duodenum, especially in upper jejunum.

Objective To evaluate the effect of comprehensive prevention and control of soil?transmitted nematodiasis in Runzhou District Zhenjiang City Jiangsu Province from 1997 to 2012. Methods The comprehensive prevention and control measures included the helminthicide health education improvement of water supplier and harmless toilets and these mea?sures were implemented continuously. At the same time the infection rates of soil?transmitted nematodes the local economic in?dicators and the coverage rates of tap water and harmless toilets were surveyed. Results The mass chemotherapy was per?formed for 202 100 person?times and the diagnosed chemotherapy was performed for 2 006 person?times in Runzhou District from 1997 to 2012. The awareness rates of health knowledge were 57.18%in 1997 and 95.62%in 2012. The coverage rates of tap water and harmless toilets were 10.14%and 10.21%in 1997 and 100.0%and 90.38%in 2012 respectively. There were negative correlations between the awareness rate of per capita GDP per capita net income coverage rates of tap water cover?age rates of harmless toilets health knowledge and the infection rate of soil?transmitted nematodes respectively rper capita GDP=-0.526 P 0.05 rper capita net income=-0.671 P 0.01 rcoverage rates of tap water=-0.936 P 0.01 rcoverage rates of harmles toilets=-0.922 P 0.01 rawarenes=-0.774 P 0.01 . The statistical analysis showed that the infection rate of soil?transmitted nematodes had a downward trend as an expo?nential curve in Runzhou District from 1997 to 2012 y=42.031 7e?0.357 6x R2=0.803 6 F=57.28 P=0.000 . The infection rate of degradation by an annual rate was 29.18%. The infection rate in farmers was significantly higher than that in students χ2=17.998 P 0.01 . There was no significant difference between men and women in the infection rate of soil?transmitted nema?todes χ2=3.627 P=0.057 . Conclusion The comprehensive prevention and control measures and the development of so?cial economy contribute to the steady decline of soil?transmitted nematode infections.

Objective To compare the coherence of serum creatinine,creatinine clearance(Ccr), Cystatin C,and estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)in each stage of chronic kidney disease(CKD) patients.Methods Creatinine in serum and urine were determined by Jaffe method;serum Cystatin C was measured by particle enhanced turbidimetric method,while eGFR was calculated using the abbreviated Modification of Diet in Renal Disease(MDRD)equation which was mainly based on the serum creatinine concentration.According to the American national kidney foundation-Kidney Disease Outcome Quality Initiative(NKF-K/DOQI)guideline,all cases were grouped by eGFR into 5 stages.Results In these 228 cases,as eGFR decreased gradually,the average levels of creatinine and Cystatin C increased,while Ccr decreased.The level of each items showed a statistic difference among each stage(P0.05);in eGFR 60-89 ml/min group,the average level of creatinine was 83.3 ?mol/L,the abnormal rate was only 6.8%,it was not a sensitive marker to detect the slightly damaged GFR,the levels of Ccr and Cystatin C showed a marginal decrease and increase,with an abnormal rates of 70% and 86%,there was a statistic difference among the three abnormal rates(P
