Chinese Journal of Dermatology 2009;42(12):831-834
Objective To explore the effect ofrosiglitazone (RGZ), a ligand of peroxisome proliferatoractivated receptor γ (PPARγ), on the invasiveness of A375 cells in vitro and its mechanism of action. Methods A375 human melanoma cells were cultured in vitro and treated with different concentrations of RGZ. The proliferation of the cells, mRNA expression levels of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) 2 and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase (TIMP) 2, protein expression of MMP2 in A375 cells were detected by MTT assay, semi-quantitative RT-PCR and Western-blot, respectively. The invasiveness of A375 cells was detected by Matrigel invasion assay. Results MTT assay showed that the proliferation of A375 cells was inhibited by (4.86±0.31 )% and (5.15±0.52)% under the 24-hour treatment with RGZ of 10 and 25 μmol/L, respectively, and no evident cytotoxity was observed for RGZ. Compared with untreated A375 ceils, a significant decrease was observed in the mRNA and protein expression of MMP2 in A375 ceils treated with RGZ of 10 and 25 μmol/L (all P < 0.05), along with an increase in the mRNA expression of TIMP2 (both P < 0.01 ).The count of A375 cells transmigrating through matrigel was 154.1±7.7 and 87.3±8.1 under the treatment with RGZ of 10 and 25 μmol/L, significantly lower than that of those without treatment (210.7±14.9,both P < 0.01 ). Conclusions RGZ could inhibit the transmigration of A375 ceils, likely by down-regulating the mRNA and protein expression of MMP2.

Chinese Journal of Ultrasonography 1997;0(06):-
In order to evaluate the use of transendoscopic miniature ultrasonic probe (TEMP) in the diagnosis of gastric submucosal tumor, 18 patients were investigated. The results obtained by TEMP were compared with those of gastroscopy, and endoscopical ultrasonography (EVS). The result showed that among those 18 patients, gastric submucosal leiomyomas, were common and accounted for 88.9%. Most of them were intramural. The diagnostic accuracy of TEMP for the size of tumor and gastric submucosal tumor was 88.9% and 100% respectively. Which were much higher than those of gastroscopy (33.3% and 61.1% respectively). The sonogrophic characteristics of gastric submucosal tumors in TEMP imaging were related to the nature of the tumors, hut the common manifestations were that all the tumors were hypoechoic under the hyperechoic mucosal layer with clear bell shaped origin, and usually appeared as round or nearly round intragastric eminence. It is concluded that the selective use of TEMP has great value in the diagnosis of gastric submucosal turmor, especially for those lesions which were small and difficult to be detected by EUS.

Journal of Practical Radiology 2001;0(05):-
Objective To investigate the imaging appearances of esophageal tuberculosis. Methods 5 cases of esophageal tuberculosis proved by pathology were retrospectively analyzed. There were 2 male and 3 female patients aged between 24 and 36 years median age 29 years. All cases were undergone esophageal barium examination, CT scan and gastroscopy. The surgical resection of the tumor was complemented in one case. Results Esophageal barium contrast study showed: the location of lesions at upper, middle and low esophagus in 1,3 and 1 cases respectively. The X-ray features included filling defect in 2 cases, centripetal strictures in 2 cases, intraluminal barium patch in 1 case, extramural irregular fistulous formation in 1 case, mucosa destruction in 2 cases and mucosa flattened or disappeared in 3 cases. On chest CT, bronchiectasis in the posterior basal segment of left inferior lung in 1 case, enlargement of right hilum of lung and small nodule in the right chest wall in 1 case, irregular thickening in the wall of inferior oesophagus in 1 case, pleural adhesion in 1 case were showed, and the other two were normal. The accurate diagnosis was confirmed only in 2 patients preoperation. Conclusion Esophageal tuberculosis extent is not of imaging characteristics, its diagnosis should be in combination with clinical data.

Objective To study the characteristics of plasma adiponectin levels exhibiting in gestation women and newborns, as well as the relationships between adiponectin levels and fetal birth weight. Methods Totally 98 subjects have been considered in this study, in-cluding venous blood samples of 36 healthy non-pregnant women (control group), 31 uncomplicated pregnant women (pregnancies group) and the cord blood samples taken at delivery of their singleton infants born at term (newborns group). The concentrations of adiponectin and insulin were determined by radioimmunoassay technique. And SPSS was used for statistical analyses. Results The adiponectin level in women of late period of gestation (WLPG) (11.10±5.72)g/ml was lower than that of other two groups, and the newborns average cord plasma level of adiponectin was (30.71±12.77) g/ml significantly higher than that of the control group (16.52±6.87) g/ml. The adipone-ctin level for WLPG was correlated with FINS and HOMA-IR (r = -0.411, -0.393, P <0.05). The adiponectin level in cord plasma was positively correlated with birth weight(r = 0.416, P < 0.05). The adiponectin level in WLPG was correlated neither with the adiponec-tin level nor body weights of their newborns. Conclusions The average cord plasma adiponectin level of newboms is significantly higher than that of the control group and WLPG. It is positively correlated with birth weight, which suggests that adiponectin may be involved in reg-ulating fetal growth. The adiponectin level in WLPG is correlated neither with the adiponectin level nor body weights of their newborns.
