2.Effects of yiqi huoxue compound combined with exercise therapy on MMP-1 and collagen type III expressions of cardiac muscle in chronic heart failure rats.
Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2011;31(7):955-960
OBJECTIVETo study the effects and mechanisms of Yiqi Huoxue Compound combined with exercise therapy on the ventricular remodeling of chronic heart failure (CHF) rats after myocardial infarction.
METHODSEight rats were selected from sixty healthy SD rats as the blank control group, and the rest was used to prepare CHF rat model by coronary artery ligation in combination with exhausted swimming and food reducing. The successfully modeled rats were randomly divided into five groups, i. e., the model group (n = 8), the Chinese medicine group (n = 8), the Western medicine group (n = 8), the Chinese medicine + exercise group (n = 10), and the exercise group (n = 10). Routine gastrogavage of equal volume distilled water was given to rats in the blank control group and the model group respectively, 3 mL each time. Yiqi Huoxue Compound was given by gastrogavage to rats in the Chinese medicine group and the Chinese medicine + exercise group at the daily dose of 9.2 g crude drug/kg. Lisinopril was given by gastrogavage to rats in the Western medicine group at the daily dose of 1.5 mg crude drug/kg. The medication was administered twice daily for six successive weeks. The Chinese medicine + exercise group and the exercise group adopted exercise therapy, once daily. The myocardial tissue of rats' non-infarcted left ventricle was taken out. mRNA and protein contents of matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) and collagen type III were detected by Real-time fluorescent quantitation PCR.
RESULTSCompared with the blank control group, the mRNA expression and the average gray value of MMP-1 increased, while those of collagen type III decreased in the model group, showing statistical difference (P<0.05, P<0.01). Compared with the model group, the mRNA expression and the average gray value of MMP-1 decreased in the Chinese medicine group, the Western medicine group, and the Chinese medicine + exercise group, showing statistical significance (P<0.01). It was lowest in the Chinese medicine + exercise group. The mRNA expression and the average gray value of collagen type III increased in the Western medicine group and the Chinese medicine + exercise group, showing statistical difference (P<0.01).
CONCLUSIONSYiqi Huoxue Compound combined wih exercise therapy could attenuate the ventricular remodeling degree. Its mechanism might be to inhibit the MMP-1 expression, improve the expression of collagen type III, thus alleviating and even reversing myocardial fibrosis.

Abstract: Objective To find out the existing problems and provide reference for further improving the quality of report information by analyzing the report cards of COVID-19 and the positive report cards of primary screening reported in Ningxia. Methods All COVID-19 case cards from 2020 to 2021 and initial screening positive cards were derived from the Chinese Information System for Disease Control and Prevention according to final review date. The timeliness of case reporting, timeliness of case review, completeness and accuracy of the case cards were analyzed. Results In Ningxia, the first case of COVID-19 was reported on January 20, 2020, and as of December 31, 2021, 122 confirmed cases and 4 symptomatic infected cases were reported. In 2021, the timely reporting rate of COVID-19 was 98.00%, which increased by 8.24% compared with 2020 (90.54%). Compared with 2020, the average time limit for diagnosis to reporting of COVID-19 in 2021 was shortened by 83.12%; in 2021, the timely review rate of COVID-19 was 100.00%, which increased by 13.84% compared with 2020 (87.84%). Compared with 2020, the time from reporting to final review was shortened by 98.91%. In 2021, the timely rate of positive reports in COVID-19 in Ningxia was 90.00%, among which the timely rate of reports by county (district) nucleic acid detection institutions was the highest (92.31%), followed by municipal (91.67%) and autonomous region (81.82%). Conclusions At the beginning of the epidemic in 2020, the timeliness of COVID-19 in Ningxia was poor, and through the implementation of measures such as technical training, supervision and inspection to continuously optimize the staffing of medical institutions and disease control institutions, the timeliness of reporting COVID-19 in Ningxia in 2021 was substantially improved, but there were still some weak links. In the future work, technical guidance and training should be carried out for weak links, and efforts should be made to improve the quality of reports.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the relationship between various factors and the undercorrection after laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK).
METHODSOf 1 391 eyes (696 cases), the undercorrection eyes grouped by left or right eye were analyzed by Chi-square test and logistic regression analysis based on age, sex, occupation, address, family history of myopia and all ophthalmologic examination results before and after LASIK.
RESULTSThe results of logistic regression analysis showed that the undercorrection after LASIK of both groups was related to four factors: the duration of myopia (left eye OR = 1.076, 95% CI: 1.030 - 1.124; right eye OR = 1.093, 95% CI: 1.046 - 1.142), preoperative refractive power (left eye OR = 7.799, 95% CI: 1.755 - 34.654; right eye OR = 28.823, 95% CI: 5.750 - 144.467), preoperative best corrected vision (left eye OR = 0.000, 95% CI: 0.000 - 0.262; right eye OR = 0.000, 95% CI: 0.000 - 0.144) and the corneal thickness (left eye OR = 0.976, 95% CI: 0.965 - 0.987; right eye OR = 0.975, 95% CI: 0.964 - 0.986).
CONCLUSIONLonger duration of myopia and the more refractive power seemed to be the risk factors, while the better corrected vision and the thicker thickness of cornea the protect factors of undercorrection after LASIK.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the role of p38 MAPK on ischemic postconditioning (IPO) attenuating pneumocyte apoptosis after lung ischemia/reperfusion injury (LIRI).
METHODSForty adult male SD rats were randomly divided into 5 groups based upon the intervention (n = 8): control group (C), LIR group (I/R), LIR + IPO group (IPO), IPO + solution control group (D), IPO + SB203580 group (SB). Left lung tissue was isolated after the 2 hours of reperfusion, the ratio of wet lung weight to dry lung weight (W/D), and total lung water content (TLW) were measured. The histological structure of the left lung was observed under light and electron transmission microscopes, and scored by alveolar damage index of quantitative assessment (IQA). Apoptosis index (AI) of lung tissue was determined by terminal deoxynuleotidyl transferase mediated dUTP nick end and labeling (TUNEL) method. The mRNA expression and protein levels of and Bax were measured by RT-PCR and quantitative immunohistochemistry (IHC).
RESULTSCompared with C group, W/D, TLW, IQA, AI and the expression of Bax of I/R were significantly increased, the expression of Bcl-2 and Bcl-2/Bax were significantly decreased (P < 0.05, P < 0.01), and was obviously morphological abnormality in lung tissue. Compared with I/R group, all the indexes of IPO except for the expression of Bcl-2 and Bcl-2/ Bax were obviously reduced, the expression of Bcl-2 and Bcl-2/Bax were increased (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). All the indexes between D and IPO were little or not significant( P > 0.05). The expression of Bcl-2 and Bcl-2/Bax of SB were significantly increased and other indexes were reduced than those of IPO (P < 0.05, P < 0.01).
CONCLUSIONIPO may attenuate pneumocyte apoptosis in LIRI by inactivation of p38 MAPK, up-regulating expression of Bcl-2/Bax ratio.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the role and significance of ATP-sensitive K+ channels in the pathological process of hypoxia hypercapnia-induced pulmonary vasoconstriction (HHPV) and the relationship with ERK1/2 signal pathway in rats.
METHODSWe made the third pulmonary artery rings of SD rats, used the model of pulmonary artery rings perfusion in vitro. Under acute hypoxia hypercapnia condition, and observed the effects of the three stages of HHPV incubated by glybenclamide(Gly) and the combined application of Gly and U0126. At the same time, the values of rings' tension changes were recorded via the method of hypoxia hypercapnia conditions reactivity.
RESULTSUnder the normoxia condition, the values of the third pulmonary artery rings tension were relatively stable, but under the hypoxia hypercapnia condition, we observed a biphasic pulmonary artery contractile response compared with N group (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). When the third pulmonary artery rings incubated by Gly, it's phase II persistent vasoconstriction was enhanced compared with the H group (P < 0.05, P < 0.01), and the phase I vasoconstriction was also heightened. Moreover, under the hypoxia hypercapnia condition, U0126 could significantly relieve the phase II persistent vasoconstriction compared with HD group (P < 0.05, P < 0.01) induced by Gly, but the phase I acute vasoconstriction and the phase I vasodilation had no changes (P > 0.05).
CONCLUSIONGly may mediate HHPV via activating ERK1/2 signal transduction pathway.
