1.CT and MRI findings of vixed mullerian tumor: report of three cases.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1993;29(3):501-503
Mixed Mullerian tumors are rate uterine malignancy and occur primarily in postmenopausal women. We have experienced three case of pathologically proven mixed Mullerian tumor. Two cases had prior history of pelvic irradiation for uterine cervical carcinoma. We suggest that mixed Mullerian tumor should be suspected when an enlarged uterus with polypoid masses in the uterine cavity are initially observed in postmenopausal women who had history of pelvic irradiation.

Prenatal chromosome analysis of amniotic cells at 18 weeks of gestation showed a male fetus to carry a large 15p+ derivative chromosome inherited from his mother. Extra genetic material on the short arm of chromosome IS was silver-negative with Ag-NOR (nucleolus organizer regions) stain, but stained darkly with C-banding method like the distal heterochromatic segment of the Y long arm. Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) using two DNA probes (DYZ1 and D15Zl) showed a red fluorescent signal on 15p+ In addition to a green chromosome 15 centromere signal, confirming 15p to be from the distal Yq heterochromatin.

5.A Comparative Study of Excretory Urography and Renal Angiography on Blunt Renal Trauma.
Korean Journal of Urology 1978;19(1):1-6
10 patients with blunt renal trauma have been studied and compared by the excretory urography and renal angiography in the Department of Urology, National Medical Center, Seoul, during the period of January 1976 through June 1977. The following results were obtained: 1) Renal angiography is a more specific diagnostic procedure than the excretory urography in detailing the extent of injury. And it provides more opportunity of a high salvage rate of injured kidney. 2) In a normal excretory urography, renal angiography need not do in deciding surgical management of renal injury. 3) The result of positive renal angiograms was especially great in patients showing any of the following urographic abnormalities; non-or poor visualization and extravasation of contrast media. 4) Surgical intervention was done in only one patient of renal thrombosis.

6.CT Findings of Pulmonary Aspergillosis.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1995;33(6):903-909
The fungus aspergillus can cause a variety of pulmonary disorders. Aspergilloma is a noninvasive aspergillus colonization of virtually any type of preexisting pulmonary cavity or Cystic space. Invasive pulmonary aspergillosis is serious, usually fatal infection in patients being treated with immunosuppressants or who have chronic debilitating disease. Allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis is charaterized clinically by asthma, blood and sputum eosinophilia and positive immunologic reaction to aspergillus antigen. Awareness of the radio-graphic and CT findings of pulmonary aspergillosis is important in making the diagnosis of aspergillus-caused pulmonary disorders. In this pictorial essay, we illustrated various radiological findings of pulmonary aspergillosis focused on CT findings correlated with gross pathologic specimens.

8.CT-guided alcohol block of the celiac plexus: The abterior approach.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1993;29(3):471-474
Since Kappis described percutaneous celiac plexus block in 1914, variations and refinements of his technic have been proposed. Recently, computed tomography (CT) guided nerve block has improved results of the block and made it safer, particularly when neurolytic drugs are injected for the relief of intractable abdominal pain caused by malignancy or chronic pancreatitis. We report a case of CT-guided alcohol block of the celiac plexus with the anterior approach in a patient with a common bile duct carcinoma.
