OBJECTIVE:
Comparison of operation of epitympanic/antrum cholesteatoma excised by endoscopy and microscope.
METHOD:
Eleven patients with epitympanic/antrum cholesteatoma were analysed, 5 cases were excised by endoscopy and 6 cases were excised under microscope.
RESULT:
No complication occurred after operation and all patients got dried ear. There were no difference in hearing recovery and closure of perforation of tympanic membrane between two group. The operation time, injury degree, length of stay in hospital and hospitalization expense with endoscopy was superior to that of microscope.
CONCLUSION
Considering financial constraints of patients, resection of epitympanic/antrum cholesteatoma cholesteatoma can be adopted by endoscopy.

5.Cultivation of students' clinical thinking ability in hematology teaching
Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2011;10(8):915-917
Clinical thoughts based on symptoms, physical signs and examine outcomes is a process of analysis, judgement and conclusion of disease diagnosis. To cultivate an exact thinking model can avoid taking a part for the whole or a miss in disease analysis, so to cultivate clinical thoughts in clinical practice can elevate medical students'clinical skills.
6.Study on Microbial Limit Test Method for Ciclopirox Olamine Vaginal Suppository
China Pharmacy 2007;0(28):-
OBJECTIVE:To establish an optimal method for microbial limit test for ciclopirox olamine vaginal suppository.METHODS:The microbial limit test for antibacterial agents was validated by plating method and membrane filtration method, and the optimal method for the test of bacteria and mold were confirmed based on the recovery rate of artificially sprayed bacteria.RESULTS:By plating method, the recovery rate of artificially sprayed E.coli was more than 70%,whereas that of mould was 0%;however,by membrane filtration method, the recovery rates of bacterial and mould were all higher than 70% when flushing doses of bacteria, mold, and control bacteria were 200 mL,300 mL,and 200 mL,respectively.CONCLUSIONS:The membrane filtration method could be used for the microbial limit test of the preparation the drug quality can be kept under effective control, and the established method is accurate and reliable.

Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 2006;37(6):810-812
Objective To study tannins of Corylus heterophylla from Heilongjiang Province. Methods The constituents were separated and purified repeatedly by macroporons resin chromatography methods and their structures were identified by 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, FAB-MS, and 1H-1HCOSY spectra, and chemical methods as well. Results Three tannins were obtained from C. heterophylla. They were heterophylliin D (Ⅰ), roxbin A ( Ⅱ ), and rugosin F ( Ⅲ ). Conclusion Heterophylliin D ( Ⅰ ) is isolated from the extract of C. heterophylla leaves as a new dimmer tannin firstly.
8.The results analysis of intervention on fall among the elderly in Niujie area of Beijing
Chinese Journal of Geriatrics 2009;28(9):777-779
Objective To explore the current status and influencing factors of fall among the elderly in Niujie area of Beijing so as to provide evidences for prevention. Methods Based on the basic survey of fall in 1703 elderly people, the people were divided into intervention group and control group according to different habitation areas using cluster sampling method. The elderly people in intervention group of 874 were accepted intervention management for one year, including cognitive behavioral intervention, fall-inducing diseases intervention and intervention of elderly static and dynamic behaviors that affected the balance function, so as to help the elderly to master the relevantfactors of fall and preventive measures. Results The annual occurrence rate of fall was 11.7% (200/1703) and the fall injury incidence was 9.0% (152/1703). The prevalence of fall was increased with aging, and it was high in people with balance dysfunction. After one year intervention, the incidence of fall was decreased to 5.2%, while it was 7.6% in control group. Conclusions Cognitive behavior intervention can effectively prevent fall in the elderly, which has an important significance for improving the life quality of the elderly.
9.Progress in treatment of clinical stage N2 non-small cell lung cancer
Journal of International Oncology 2010;37(6):454-457
Although the optimal treatment protocol for clinical N2-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is still uncertain, the recommended standard treatment protocol goes to radical concurrent chemora diotherapy. Concurrent chemoradiotherapy after induction chemotherapy is not superior to standard concurrent chemoradiotherapy. Neoadjuvant concurrent chemoradiotherapy followed by pulmonary lobectomy can improve overall survival ratio comparaed with preoperative neoadjuvant concurrent chemoradiotherapy. The role of concurrent chemoradiotherapy followed by consooldation chemotherapy is still controversial. Gefitinib or erlotinib failed to bring about the survival benefit from the maintenance treatment after concurrent chemoradiotherapy. Prophylactic cranial irradiation play a role merely in decreasing the risk of brain metastases, but not in the improvement of overall survival.
10.Reoperation for patients with postoperative local recurrence of rectal cancer
Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery 2009;8(6):435-437
Objective To assess the efficacy of surgical treatment and the prognostic factors predicting survival for patients with local recurrence of rectal cancer. Methods The clinical data of 43 rectal cancer patients who received reoperation at Beijing Cancer Hospital from November 1998 to April 2005 were retrospectively analyzed. The postoperative 5-year survival, incidence of complications, perioperative mortality were calculated. Postoperative survival was analyzed by Kaplan-Meier method and prognostic factors by univariate analysis and Cox proportional hazard regression model. Results Of all patients, 35 underwent radical resection, 8 underwent palliative resection or colostomy. The incidence of complications, perioperative mortality and postoperative 5-year survival were 26% (11/43), 2% (1/43) and 9% (4/43), respectively. Patients who received radical resec-tion, with primary tumor of TNM Ⅱ stage, with normal level of carcinoembryonic antigen, and with the time of recurrence within postoperative 24 months had better prognosis (χ~2 = 21.30, 14.17, 5.93, 5.53, P < 0.05). Modality of reoperation and TNM staging of primary tumor were the independent factors influcing the prognosis (χ~2 = 8.89, 6.96, P < 0.05). Conclusion Radical resection for patients with postoperative local recurrence of rectal cancer results in a favorable prognosis.
