Objective To study the expression of aspartic proteinase cathepsin D in the germinal center of follicular lymphoma and follicular hyperplasia. Methods Immunohistochemical staining was performed to detect the expression of cathepsin D in paraffin sections of 10 cases of follicular lymphoma and 9 cases of follicular hyperplasia. Results Cathepsin D was weakly expressed in the plasma of dendritic cells and histiocytes in the germinal centers of 9 out of 10 cases of follicular hyperplasia. The number of positive cells were smaller in the center of follicles, but larger in the periphery. It was more strongly expressed in the plasma of dendritic cells and histiocytes located predominantly in the peripheral areas of germinal centers of follicular lymphoma in 10 patients. Some germinal centers were surrounded by T lymphocytes in 4 cases of follicular lymphoma, and cathepsin D positive cells in these germinal centers were more in number than that in the germinal centers without being surrounded by T cells in other 6 cases of follicular lymphoma, in which positive sign even absent in some germinal centers. Conclusion Cathepsin D is a good marker for the dendritic cells and histiocytes, and its differential expression in follicular lymphoma and follicular hyperplasia is helpful for differential diagnosis of the diseases. Based on the former reports of cathepsin D with its important roles in antigen processing, we suppose that lower expression of this protease is probably due to the decreased ability of immunological response to tumor in follicular lymphoma patients.

Aim To investigate effects of moxonidine on hemodynamics in anesthetized rats. Methods The indexes of hemodynamics were examined by catheterization of arteries in anesthetized Wistar rats. Results DBP, +dp/dt_ max, -dp/dt_ max,t-dp/dt_ max ,V_ pm and V_ max were significantly declined in dose-dependent manner after administration, but HR and SBP didn't change significantly. Conclusion These results showed that antihypertensive effects of moxonidine were related to inhibition of systolic and diastolic functions of myocardium.Furthermore, the antihypertensive effects of moxonidine were associated with reduction of peripheral vascular resistance.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1986;0(04):-
The phospholipase A2 ( PLA2 ) is one of the main constituents of the bee venom. Its hypotensive effect and mechanism are studied in this report. In the anaesthetized rats and cats, the PLA2 of the bee venom given intravenously caused a quick and profound fall in the arterial blood pressure. The results of this study indicate that its hypotensive effect is mainly concerned with releasing the endogenous histamine. If the antagonists of H1 and H2 receptor are administered together, its hypotensive action will be countered.

Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of VSD combined with external fixator in the treatment of open tibial and fibular fractures in Tibet plateau. Methods From August 2014 to August 2015, totally 16 cases of open tibial and fibular fractures were treated in our department, including 12 males and 4 females with an average 39. 4 years-old. There were 4 cases of proximal and mid tibial fractures while 12 cases were distal fractures. Debridement, vacuum sealing drainage combined with external fixator for stabilization of fractures was performed in all patients after general condition was improved. A vacuum sealing drainage change or second stage wound closure or soft tissue coverage was undergone after 7 days. Bone union time by X-ray and complications were recorded. Results All wounds were healed by second stage. Twelve patients months were followed up ( by calling back to the hospital ) for an average 18 months ( 12 to 24 months ) , 4 cases were lost to follow-up. X-ray demonstrated that bone union was obtained at a mean 5. 5th month (3 to 7 months). There were 9 cases (75%) obtained a first phase of fracture healing, while 3 cases ( 25%) of delayed healing. Pin-track infection was occurred in two patients and was cured by conservative treatment. No complications of deep infection, graft skin or flap necrosis, malunion, nonunion or osteomyelitis was seen during follow-up. Conclusions Vacuum sealing drainage combined with external fixator for treatment of open tibial and fibular fracture in Tibet can rapidly and effectively stabilize the fracture, and simultaneously safely and effectively seal the wound, reduce the wound healing time, promote fracture healing and lower the complication rates.

AIM: To investigate the effect of silymarin on homocysteine-induced cell viability and apoptosis in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). METHODS: Cell viability was analyzed by using MTT and LDH assay. Apoptotic cells were detected by using DNA fragmentation and flow cytometric analysis. The level of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) and the potential of mitochondrial membrane were determined by flow cytometric assay. The activity of caspase-3, -6 and -9 were measured with microplate spectrofluorometer. Protein levels were examined by Western blotting. RESULTS: Treatment of cultured HUVECs with HCY for 48 h induced a significant decrease in cell viability, and the percentage of apoptosis increased to 76.8%. The level of intracellular ROS and activity of caspase-3, -6 and -9 enhanced, and the red/green ratios of mitochondrial membrane decreased. However, simultaneous treatment with silymarin exhibited cytoprotective effects, reduced formation of the DNA ladder, prevented the levels of Bax and Bcl-2 proteins and the accumulation of ROS as well as caspase-3, -6 and -9 activation, reconverted the potential of mitochondrial membrane, and the percentage of apoptosis/necrosis was significantly decreased to 12.7% in a dose-dependent manner. CONCLUSION: These results demonstrate that silymarin has the protective capacity to antagonize HCY-induced apoptosis in HUVECs. The antiapoptotic action of silymarin may be partially dependent on an anti-oxidative stress effects, inhibition of caspases activity, and maintenance of mitochondria function.

Objective This study is to explore the expression of CIP2A mRNA in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and its correlations with clinicopathologic features and prognosis of HCC patients. Methods CIP2A mRNA expression was analyzed in four liver cancer cell lines (Hep-G2, MHCC97,SMMC-7721 and BEI-7402), one immortalized liver cell line L-O2, neoplastic tissues and adjacent matched non-neoplastic liver tissues in 120 HCC patients and normal liver tissues of 20 cases using semi-quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The correlations between CIP2A mRNA and clinicopathologic features and prognosis of HCC were analyzed. Results CIP2A mRNA was detected in Hep-G2, MHCC-97H, SMMC-7721 and BEL-7402, but not in L-O2.The positive rate of CIP2A mRNA expression was significantly increased in HCC tissues (78.3%)than in adjacent matched non-neoplastic liver tissues (28.3%) and normal liver tissues (5.0%,P<0. 01). CIP2A mRNA expression was correlated with tumor size, differentiation and TNM stage (P<0.05). Patients with positive expression of CIP2A mRNA had lower overall survival and diseasefree survival rates. Conclusions CIP2A mRNA, which is highly expressed in liver cancer cell lines and HCC tissues, may be involved in hepatocarcinogenesis. CIP2A mRNA may be a valuable biomarker for assessing the prognosis of HCC.

Chinese Journal of Burns 2019;35(3):221-223
From June to November 2016, 5 patients with severe burns were admitted to our unit. Broad-spectrum antibiotic and fluconazole were used on patients as earlier empirical anti-infection therapy of bacteria and fungi. Seven to twenty-one days after injury, 5 patients developed fungal infection. Antifungal agents of caspofungin, voriconazole, and amphotericin B liposomewere were used according to the results of fungal culture, and the infected wounds were also treated with repeated debridement and dressing change. Multiple autologous skin grafts were performed after infection control of wounds. With the above antifungal infection treatment for 5 to 11 days, 2 patients′ condition tended to be stable, and no fungus was found in wound secretion after cultured for many times. The patients were discharged with wounds healed after 52 to 54 days′ hospital stay. Due to severe burns degree and or elder age, fungal infection aggravated and expanded to the trunk in the other 3 patients, then developed into burn sepsis, resulting in patients died of multiple organ failure secondary to sepsis.
