Objective This paper summarizes the safety management of 13 ARDS patients resulting from influenza A (H7N9) virus infection with daily awakening during analgesia and sedation treatment. Methods Safety management was given to 13 ARDS patients with influenza A (H7N9) virus infection during analgesia and sedation treatment. Results No serious complications or adverse events occurred during interruption period of analgesia and sedation. Conclusions To give safety management of daily awakening to patients with influenza A (H7N9) virus infection during analgesia and sedation treatment can increase treatment effect and facilitate early recovery of patients.

Objective By the designing and clinical application of score table and focus nursing sheet to brain trauma patients, paramedics can observe state of illness individually, optimize the nursing care in a further performance, and ensure the security of brain trauma patients more profitably. Methods To design the score table and focus nursing sheet according to the disease species and symptoms, contrast to the previous nurse observing table in noting time, error rate, exam results and surgeon satisfaction degree. Results By evaluating 130 cases in this test, the score table and focus nursing sheet were superior to the previous nurse observing table. Conclusions With the score table and focus nursing sheet, nurses can observe the illness and note the progress more scientifically and conveniently, the concept of individuation and specialization are worthy of recommending.

Objective To design quality improvement checklist of catheter-related blood stream infection (CRBSI),in order to improve the nursing quality of ICU and ensure nursing safety. Methods A new ICU quality improvement checklist of CRBSI was designed and applied for the quality control of the patients with central venous catheter from April to June 2012.The using rate of central venous catheter and incidence of CRBSI were observed. Results After application of the checklists, the using rate of central venous catheter was decreased and the incidence of CRBSI was decreased. Conclusions The checklist may help improve the prevention and control of CRBSI in ICU.

Objective:To investigate the expressions and significance of tyrosine kinase receptor EphA2 and its ligand ephrinA1 in human malignant gliomas and their correlation with tumor angiogenesis. Methods:The expressions of EphA2, ephrinA1, and CD105-stained microvessel density (MVD) were detected via immunohistochemical assay in 62 glioma tissues and 8 normal brain tissues. The correlation between EphA2 and ephrinA1 expression and microvessel counts in the glioma tissues were assessed. Results:Immunohistochemical staining results revealed that variable levels of EphA2 and MVD expression were significantly higher than that of the normal brain samples. Statistical difference was observed in EphA2 and MVD expressions between human gliomas and normal brain samples (P<0.01). The positive rate of EphA2 and MVD expressions was significantly higher in high-grade gliomas (WHO III-IV) than that in low-grade gliomas (WHO I-II) (P<0.01). EphrinA1 was expressed at low levels in most malignant gliomas, and the increased ephrinA1 expression was associated with lower-grade histology. MVD was significantly positively correlated with EphA2 expression (r=0.713, P<0.01) and significantly negatively correlated with ephrinA1 expression (r=-0. 772, P<0.01). EphA2 was significantly negatively correlated with ephrinA1 expression (r=-0.912, P<0.01). Conclusion:Specifically over-expressed EphA2 and its low-expressed ligand ephrinA1 in malignant gliomas may be closely correlated with the invasion and malignant degree of gliomas. Cooperation is involved in the angiogenesis and has an important function in the initiation and progression of gliomas.

Objective:To evaluate the effect of buccal acupuncture on analgesia after tonsilloadenoidectomy in pediatric patients. Methods:This was a randomized controlled study. One hundred and twenty-six American Society of Anesthesiologists Physical Status classification Ⅰ or Ⅱ pediatric patients, aged 3-12 yr, weighing 12-34 kg, with body mass index <30 kg/m 2, undergoing elective tonsilloadenoidectomy with general anesthesia, were divided into 2 groups ( n=63 each) by the random number table method: buccal acupuncture group (group B) and control group (group C). All pediatric patients received the same anesthesia induction and intraoperative anesthesia maintenance. The concentration of sevoflurane was adjusted to keep the fluctuation amplitude of vital sign parameters within 20% of the baseline value. After surgery, the drug was immediately stopped and the children were transferred to the postanesthesia care unit for resuscitation under general anesthesia. In group B, the bilateral neck points, upper neck points, hologram points on the head and Zhongjiao points were selected before removal of the tracheal catheter, and disposable acupuncture needles were inserted directly into the acupoints and remained for 20-30 min. Group C received no buccal acupuncture. The pain Assessment Scale (FLACC) was used to assess the severity of postoperative pain. The postoperative agitation score was evaluated by Aono four-point rating method to evaluate the occurrence of agitation. The effective pressing times of patient-controlled analgesia, rescue analgesia and occurrence of nausea and vomiting within 48 h after operation were recorded. The occurrence of bleeding, infection and broken needle at acupuncture sites was recorded. Results:Compared with group C, the effective pressing times of patient-controlled analgesia and incidence of nausea and vomiting were significantly decreased in group B ( P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the rate of rescue analgesia and incidence of postoperative agitation between the two groups ( P>0.05). No infection or broken needle was found at acupuncture sites after buccal acupuncture, only 2 cases had slight bleeding at the puncture site, and there was no abnormality after pressing in group B. Conclusions:Buccal acupuncture can enhance the analgesic effect after tonsilloadenoidectomy in pediatric patients.
