Objective To evaluate the efficacy and toxicity of weekly docetaxel and cisplatin in previously untreated patients with advanced non-small-cell lung carcinoma. Methods Between January 2002 and December 2003 ,34 patients with pathologically comfirmed advanced non-small-cell lung carcinoma who had not received treatment were enrolled. The mean age was under 66 years. The patients received intravenous infusions of docetaxel(25 mg/m2,dayl ,8,15) with dexamethasone premedication and cisplatin(25 mg/m2,dayl ,8,15) ,followed by a week of rest. The remedies which were less than 6 regimens lasted to disease progression or severe toxicity. Therapeutic effect was evaluated by CT scan every two courses . The patients were followed up for 24 months. Descriptive statistics and SPSSIO. 0 software were used to analyse the results. Results 34 patients finished 90 courses. The mean was 2. 6 courses. All patients were followed up. Two patients achieved complete responses, ten patients achieved partial responses, ten patients achieved stable disease. An objective response rate of 35. 29% (95% confidence interval 19. 25%-51. 33% )was obtained. Patients life quality was significantly improved. The median time to progression was 4. 1 months, and median overall survival was 11 months. The 1-year survival rate was 47. 06% , the 2-year survival rate was 11.76% . Toxicities were mild. Grade 3 to 4 neutropenia (11.76%), anemia (5.88%), hyponatremia (5.88%), alopecie (17.64%) and nausea/vomiting (5. 88% ) were observed. Conclusion Weekly Cisplatin plus docetaxel is an effective and well-tolerated regimen in chemo-naive patients with advanced NSCLC. Well-designed clinical trials should be conducted.

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of HE’s needling method (three ways for unblocking) in treating mild simple obesity due to dampness from spleen deficiency.Method Forty eligible subjects with mild simple obesity due to dampness from spleen deficiency were randomized into group A and group B, 20 cases in each group. Group A was intervened by mild unblocking method plus intensive unblocking method from HE’s needling method, and group B was by mild unblocking method plus warm unblocking method. The obesity-related indexes were observed before and after treatment, and the clinical efficacies were compared.Result The body weight and Body Mass Index (BMI) were significantly changed after intervention in the treatment group (P<0.05). The body weight was significantly changed after treatment in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, there were no significant differences in comparing the obesity-related indexes (body weight, BMI, waist circumference, hip circumference, and waist-hip ratio) between the two groups (P>0.05). The total effective rate was 55.0% in the treatment group versus 10.0% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01).Conclusion HE’s needling method is effective in treating mild simple obesity due to dampness from spleen deficiency, and mild unblocking method plus intensive unblocking method can produce a more significant efficacy compared to mild unblocking method plus warm unblocking method.

Objective To analyze the medication rules of the treatment of stroke in Gu Jin Ming Yi Lin Zheng Jin Jian Zhong Feng Juan; To provide references for the clinical treatment. Methods Prescriptions with confirmed efficacy of famous TCM doctors in the history in Gu Jin Ming Yi Lin Zheng Jin Jian Zhong Feng Juan was searched. Excel2003 was used to establish database to analyze medication frequency. SPSS17.0 statistical software was used to conduct cluster analysis, and tree view was used to show results. Results Totally 112 prescriptions for the treatment of stroke of 36 famous TCM doctors were included in the study, including 204 kinds of Chinese materia medica and 1169 times of medication frequency. The high-frequency medicines (>10 times) were Paeoniae Radix Alba, Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix, Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Pinelliae Rhizoma Praeparatum, and Poria. The high-frequency medicine categories were tonifying deficiency medicine (22.58％), pacifying liver and wind medicine (12.31％), activating blood and dispelling stasis medicine (11.89％), clearing heat medicine (11.46％) and dissipating phlegm, cough and asthma medicine (8.72％). Cluster analysis showed that high-frequency medicine (>10 times) could be clustered as 6 categories. Conclusion Gu Jin Ming Yi Lin Zheng Jin Jian Zhong Feng Juan focuses on tonifying deficiency medicine, accompanied with pacifying liver and wind medicine, activating blood and dispelling stasis medicine, clearing heat medicine and dissipating phlegm, cough and asthma medicine, which can be used to guide clinic.

ObjectiveTo analyze the role of postmastectomy radiotherapy in different molecular subtypes of breast cancer patients with Stage T1 -T2 and one to three positive axillary nodes. MethodsA total of 436 breast cancer patients with T1 -T2 and one to three positive axillary lymph nodes treated with mastectomy and axillary dissection were retrospectively analyzed. Patients were grouped as the following four subtypes:Luminal A, Luminal B, Her2+ and triple-negative. The local recurrence (LR), distant metastasis ( DM ), disease free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) rates were compared between paitents with or without radiotherapy in univariate analyses. Multivariate analyses for LR were performed. Results The follow-up rate was 86. 0％. In patients with Luminal A subtype, radiotherapy decreased the 5-year LR rate (4.6％ vs 15.8％ ,x2 =5.74,P=0.017) but had no influences on DM, DFS or OS rates (17.2％ vs 19.7％,x2 =0. 17,P=0.682;77.0％ vs 67. 1％ ,x2 =1.99,P=0. 158 or87.4％:85. 5％ ,x2 =0. 12,P=0. 733 ). In patients with Luminal B subtype, radiotherapy decreased the 5-year LR rate (3.7％ vs 12. 1％,x2 =4. 13, P =0. 042), increased DFS and OS ( 84. 0％ vs 57.6％ ( x2 =14.61, P =0. 000) and 91.4％ vs 70. 7％ ( x2 =11.87, P =0. 001 ), but had no influence on DM ( 12. 3％ vs 22. 2％, x2 =2. 97, P =0. 085).In patients with Her2+ subtype, radiotherapy decreased the 5-year LR rate (5. 6％ vs 31.0％ ,x2 =4. 31,P=0. 035) , increased DFS (61. 1％ vs 13. 8％ ,x2 =11.44,P=0.001 ) ,but had no influence on DM and OS (27.8％ vs 41.4％, x2 =0. 89, P =0. 345 and 66. 7％ vs 48. 3％, x2 =1.52,P =0. 218 ). Tumor size and radiotherapy were independent prognostic factors for LR rate in multivariate analyses ( x2 =4. 76, P =0. 029 and x2 =8.06, P =0. 005 ). ConclusionsFor patients with stage T1 -T2 and one to three positive axillary nodes, patients with all molecular subtypes except triple-negative can benefit from postmasteetomy radiotherapy.
