Abstract?AIM:To evaluate the effect of combined glaucoma and cataract surgery on the function of eye surface and tear film.?METHODS:This clinical trial involved 75 patients ( 75 eyes ) with glaucoma complicated with cataract undergoing combined glaucoma and cataract surgery.All the eyes were divided into surgical group ( the eyes undergoing operation ) and control group ( the other eyes).The symptoms and signs of dry eye disease, Schirmer's I test, break -up time ( BUT ) , corneal fluorescein staining were tested and marked 1mo after operation.Comparison of the results was made between two groups.?RESULTS:The average intraocular pressure was 16.25± 0.46mmHg at 1mo after operation, compared with 45.29± 4.39mmHg at 3d before surgery, the difference was statistically significant ( P<0.05 ).Preoperative average visual acuity was 0.08±0.06, corrected visual acuity was<0.05 in 23 eyes,≥0.05 to<0.1 in 16 eyes,≥0.1 to<0.3 in 36 eyes.Postoperatively 1mo, corrected visual acuity:<0. 05 for 7 eyes (9%),≥0.05 to <0.1 for 11 eyes (15%), ≥0.1 to<0.3 for 38 eyes (51%), ≥0.3 to <0.5 for 11 eyes (15%) , ≥0.5 for 8 eyes (11%), postoperative visual acuity was 0.15 ±0.1, which was significantly higher than before surgeries ( P<0.05).The postoperative dry eye symptoms of surgical group was higher, compared with that of control group, and the differences of diagnosis of dry eye test indicators between the two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).? CONCLUSION: Combined cataract and glaucoma surgery may affect postoperative ocular surface and tear film function, make the tear film stability damaged and lead to dry eye disease.

To determine the content of 10-Hydroxy -2-decenoic acid in Chongcaojing Wangjiang Capsule by HPLC.The column was Discovery C 18 .The detective wavelength was at 209 nm. The mobile phase was acetonitrile: 0.5% phosphoric acid (25∶75) with the flow rate being 1.0 mL/min and the column temperature at 25℃.There was a good linearity (r=1) winthin the range of 0.02144 ～ 0.38592 ?g. The average recovery rate was 101.8%, RSD= 1.6%. [Conclusion] This method can be used for the quality control standard of Chongcaojing Wangjiang Capsule.

OBJECTIVETo study clinical effects of inversive LISS (less invasive stabilization system, LISS) plate combined with steel wire for the treatment of Seinsheimer type V subtrochanteric femoral fractures.

METHODSFrom January 2009 to Janurary 2012, 11 patients with Seinsheimer type V subtrochanteric femoral fractures were treated with inversive LISS plate combined with steel wire, including 8 males and 3 females, ranging in age from 35 to 61 years old (averaged, 51 years old). Causes of injury: 8 patients caused by accident and 3 patients caused by falling down. According to X-ray examination, all the patients were type V subtrochanteric femoral fractures and were treated with LISS plate combined with steel wire. Merle d'Aubigne scores were used to evaluate therapeutic effects on hip.

RESULTSThe mean period of follow-up was 16 months (ranged, 12 to 28 months). All the patients obtained bone union for average 3.8 months (ranged from 3 to 4.3 months). There were no complications such as deep infection,deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and bone nonunion. According to Merle d'Aubigne scores, 7 patients got an excellent result and 4 good.

CONCLUSIONInversive LISS plate combined with steel wire for the treatment of Seinsheimer type V subtrochanteric femoral fractures is satisfactory, Which can provide stable fixation for fracture end and provide an ideal internal fixation method for treatment of this kind of fractures in the future.

Objective To report the experience of nursing during operation on spina bifida and related diseases.Methods 168 patients with spina bifida and related diseases undergoing spine surgery in the hospital from October, 1989 to October, 2008 were reported. They were 76 males and 92 females, the averaged age was 5.6 years old (from 1 month to 23 years old). There were two follow-ups one month and 6 months to 2 years after operation. Results According to the second follow-up, the neural function improved in 123 cases, didn't change in 32 cases, and deteriorated in 13 cases. Nursing experience included: carefully observed the patients, especially managed respiratory tract and blood pressure; prepared good conditions for surgon to protect the neural function; sponge cushion for the pressured positions.Conclusion Perfect preparation of nursing can facilitate spine surgery on spina bifida and related diseases.

We evaluated the patient in the early,advanced or healing phase of the disease by MRI in the treatment of chronic brucellosis spondylitis and to guide the clinical treatment.MRI images of 40 patients with clinically diagnosed chronic brucellosis spondylitis were analyzed retrospectively.The imaging findings of early,advanced and healing patients were summarized.MRI showed abnormal signals in the vertebral body,intervertebral disc,paraspinaI and psoas muscle.It is early stage if the intervertebral space was normal,and advanced stage if combined with interverbral space stenosis.It demonstrated short T1 and short T2 signal or similar to the normal vertebral body,combined with intervertebral space stenosis,for the healing stage.According to the specific imaging manifestations of chronic brucellar spondylitis in the course of disease development,it is possible to evaluate the clinical stage of the disease and guide the rational selection of clinical treatment.

AIM: To discuss the safety of hands chopping phacoemulsification in patients with microcoria cataract.METHODS:Hands chopping phacoemulsification with intraocular lens implantation was used for the microcoria cataract of 30 patients ( 32 eyes ) . Their visual acuity, pupil, and complication were observed in postoperative 1d,1wk and 1mo.
RESULTS: Postoperative naked vision be or more than 0. 3 were in 27 eyes (84. 4%) at one day, be or more than 0. 3 were in 30 eyes (93. 8%) at one week, be or more than 0. 5 were in 28 eyes (87. 5%) at one month. All pupil returned to round or oval. No synechia happened in postoperative 1mo.
CONCLUSION:Hands chopping nucleus operation is safe and effective for uveitis combined with microcoria phacoemulsification.

Objective:To investigate the regulation mechanisms of the bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells on lymphocyte pro -liferation of type I diabetic rats .Methods:The rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells were isolated , cultured and identified and the effect on lymphocyte proliferation of type Ⅰdiabetic rat was observed by MTT assay , and analyze the CD 4 +CD25 +regulatory T cell ra-tio, cell cycle and apoptosis of type I diabetes rat by flow cytometric .Results:B and C groups was significantly lower than the absor-bance values of group A,the differences between the data were statistically significant (P<0.05), C group was significantly lower than group B absorbance values, the difference was significant (P<0.05);the CD4 +CD25 +regulatory T cells of B and C groups were sig-nificantly higher than group A, the differences of the data were statistically significant (P<0.05), the CD4 +CD25 +regulatory T cell ratio of C group significantly higher than that group B , the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05);the apoptosis levels of B and C groups were significantly higher than group A , the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05), the apoptosis levels of C group were significantly higher in group B , the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion:Bone marrow mesen-chymal stem cells can significantly inhibit lymphocyte proliferation of type Ⅰdiabetic rats, and it may regulate CD4 +CD25 +regulatory T cells, promote apoptosis, thereby affecting the immune function of T lymphocytes , and play its rejection.

Objective To compare the number of DARPP-32 positive cells yield in the grafts based on the application of single cell suspension by neural micro-transplantation technique and by traditional cell delivery technique and to explore effects and mechanisms of different approaches.Methods Cells derived from the whole ganglionic eminence of E15 rat embryos,ubiquitously expressing Green Fluorescent Protein(GFP) were implanted into unilaterally QA-lesioned rat striatum in a single-tract with an ultra-thin glass capillary with an outer diameter of 50 μm or using traditional cannula tip with a diameter of 500 μm.Results Histological assessment at 4 months after transplantation showed that there was about two-fold DARRP-32 positive striatal-like neurons in the micro-transplantation group(TT group) than that in the traditional group(MT group).Total graft volume was similar in both groups[(2.8±0.2) mm3 vs(2.5±0.4)mm3,F =0.25,P ＞ 0.05].And DARRP-32positive plaque volume[(0.6±0.1) mm3 vs(0.6±0.2) mm3,F =0.90,P ＞ 0.05]and TH staining plaque volume[(1.0±0.1) mm3 vs(0.7±0.1)mm3,F =1.44,P ＞ 0.05]also had the same performance in both groups.Number of DARRP-32 positive cells was calculated by Abercrombie correction formula,and the result showed that the number of DARRP-32 positive cells in MT group was two-fold of that in TT group[(20.1 ×103±1.2 × 103) vs(9.8 × 103±3.2 × 103),F =8.62,P ＜ 0.05].Higher DARRP-32 positive cells in MT group indicated that grafts had a better condition of growth and development.Conclusion Micro-transplantation approach can increase the number of new born striatal-like neurons,potentially due to the enlargement of the graft-host border area intensifying the graft's exposure to host derived factors and the minimized mechanical injury.

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Tanreqing Injection combined with levofloxacin injection in treatment of acute episode of chronic bronchitis and its effect on bacterial clearance rate. Methods Totally 66 patients were randomly divided into treatment group and control group (33 cases for each). Both groups were given expectorant and antispasmodic treatment. The treatment group was given Tanreqing Injection combined with levofloxacin injection, while the control group was given levofloxacin injection only. The treatment course was 12 days. The clinical symptoms, signs, and sputum culture before and after treatment were observed. The clinical efficacy and the bacterial clearance rate of the two groups were compared. Results The markedly effective cases and the effective cases in the treatment group were 15 and 29 respectively, and those in the control group were 7 and 21 respectively, with statistical significance (P<0.05). The bacterial clearance rate was 89.5% (17/19) in the treatment group, while 55.6%(10/18) in the control group, with significant difference (P<0.05). Conclusion Acute episode of chronic bronchitis treated by Tanreqing Injection combined with levofloxacin injectcion is more effective than levofloxacin injection only.
