3.Preventive and Therapeutic Effect of Weitong Injection on Postoperative Intestinal Adhesion of Rats
China Pharmacy 2005;0(21):-
OBJECTIVE: To study the preventive and therapeutic effect of Weitong injection(WTI) on the postoperative intestinal adhesion of rats.METHODS: Forty SD rats were randomly divided into five groups: blank control group, model control group,Dexamethasone group and high-dose WTI group and low-dose WTI group.Postoperative intestinal adhesion model was established in all the rats except those in the blank control group. On the operative day,the blank control group and the model control group received Normal saline(1 mL?kg-1);the Dexamethasone group received Dexamethasone(5 mg?kg-1),and WTI group received WTI(4 mg?kg-1 and 2 mg?kg-1,respectively) all via vena caudalis for 7 consecutive days.On day 8,laparotomy was performed on the rats for the evaluation of the degree of intestinal adhesion and the tissue of cecum was collected for the determination of the content of hydroxyproline(Hyp) and the pathological section test.RESULTS: The degree of postoperative intestinal adhesion of rats was attenuated by WTI(either high dose or low dose) or Dexamethasone.Furthermore,WTI significantly reduced the Hyp concentration in cecum tissue of rats with intestinal adhesion(P
4.Recognizing Ventricular Tachycardia and Fibrillation with Hurst Index
Space Medicine & Medical Engineering 2008;21(6):455-460
Objective To recognize normal sinus rhythm (NSR), ventricular tachycardia (VT) and ventricular fibrillation (VF) from each other accurately and promptly. Methods A nonlinear descriptor based on multi-scale analysis, Hurst index, as a feature to quantify the nonlinear dynamics behavior of the ECG signal, was quoted in this paper. Results The nonlinear technique, Hurst index was examined and evaluated with ECG signals extracted from MIT-BIH Arrhythmia Database, MIT-BIH Malignant Ventricular Ectopy Database, and CU Ventricular Tachyarrhythmia Database under a specific moving-window length. The experiment showed good performance of this nonlinear descriptor. When the window length was 5 s long, the recognition accuracy for each of NSR, VT and VF was 100%. Besides, the computing speed was much faster than the speed obtained with a traditional non-linear technique, the complexity measure algorithm. Conclusion The Hurst index has a strong potential for life-threatening ventricular arrhythmia recognition in clinical applications.
5.Application of Tracer Methodology in Reducing Dispensing Errors in PIVAS
China Pharmacy 2015;(25):3525-3527
OBJECTIVE:To reduce dispensing errors in Pharmacy intravenous admixture service(PIVAS),improve compound-ing quality of transfusion and guarantee the safety and rationality of clinic transfusion. METHODS:The case tracking method was applied to analyze each link of the work in PIVAS to find the reasons of configuration errors and control risk;and then the system tracking method was applied to analyze the hidden safety risk and the crack of quality from the inside of the system and work flow. Countermeasures and supporting continuous improvement were established to evaluate the effect of management before and after 6 months. RESULTS:Tracer methodology(TM)was adopted to find out the weakness in the key link and work flow of the cause of the configuration errors, the relative work pattern and work environment was improved, the relative system was formulated and completed, strength of rewards and punishment was increased. Through the implementation of the countermeasures, the number of dispensing errors was reduced from 81 to 38,and the error rate was reduced from 0.035% to 0.011%(P<0.01). CONCLU-SIONS:TM can be adopted in the key link and work flow of the cause of the configuration errors, aim at formulate and strictly carry out relative countermeasures to reduce errors in PIVAS,and promote the safety of drug use.
6.The clinical features and quality of life study of juvenile idiopathic arthritis
International Journal of Pediatrics 2010;37(3):228-231
Objective To explore the clinical features and long-term prognosis of juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA)in children, as well as particular quality of life associated with the clinical features and therapeutic options. Methods Seventy patients from August 1997 to August 2007 were retrospectively reviewed and survey was conducted using a questionnaire indicating quality of life(CHAQ questionnaires and CHQ questionnaire, adjusted appropriately) either by phone, letter or out-patient follow-up approach. The manner of correlation and logistic regression was used to analyze quality of life associated with the clinical features and therapeutic options. Results (l)The majority (74.3%) of patients were diagnosed as systemic onset JIA. The Cronbach Alpha coefficient of questionnaire is 0.9599, with a higher inernal consistency reliability. The scales validity also had the higher construction. Sixty nine cases with 76.8 percent of the score showed good quality of life. Quality of life in children less than 5 years old was significantly different from those more than 5-year old( P < 0.05). The rank sum test of single-use NSAIDs group and NSAIDs adding other medicine group suggested that the two groups had differences in quality of life( P = 0.026) .The correlation coefficient between the variables of time from onset to formal treatment and quality of life scores was 0.329( P < 0.05), and "walking"as the dependent variable for the regression analysis showed regression coefficient was 0.15( P = 0.016). The variable grip had the significant relationship with the "disease onset to regular treatment, the initial number of joint involvement" respectively. Conclusion Systemic oneset JIA is the most common type of JIA. Most of JIA patients have a good prognosis. The major factors which may cause the decline in the quality of life are age, duration without therapy after the disease onset, and the compliance to medication. To achieve a better prognosis, more aggressive therapy may be needed and individulized.

8.TOAST subtypes, risk factors and recurrence of ischemic stroke
Chinese Journal of General Practitioners 2009;8(4):230-233
Objective To analyse subtyping of iscbemic stroke by the criteria of Trial of Org 10 172 in Acute Stroke Treatment (TOAST), its distribution, and relationship between TOAST subtypes, its risk factors and recurrence. Methods Clinical data of 441 patients of ischemic stroke were collected prospectively during October 1, 2006 to September 30, 2007. All the patients were classified by TOAST criteria into five major subtypes and followed-up for one year since its first episode. Dates of its recurrence and death due to recurrence were recorded. Results All the 441 patients with ischemic stroke could be subtyped etiologically according to TOAST criteria as follows: etiology undetermined in 42.3 percent, small-vessel occlusion in 30.9 percent, large-artery atherosclerosis in 17.3 percent, cardioembolism in 9.3 percent, and others in 0.2 percent, without statistically significant difference in its gender and age distributions. Recurrence rate of iscbemic stroke in one year since its first episode for varied subtypes was 33.3 percent for cardioembolism, 14. 6 percent for etiology undetermined, 13.7 percent for large-artery atherosclerosis and 6.9 percent for small-vessel occlusion, respectively. There was no significant difference in risk factors for varied subtypes of iscbemic stroke, including history of smoking, hypertension, diabetes, cardiac disease, and serum levels of total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, fihrinogen and glucose. Conclusions Varied subtypes of iscbemic stroke had different risk factors and recurrence rate by TOAST criteria, which can be used as an etiologic classification for its secondary prevention.
