ObjectiveTo explore the relationship between diet habits and constitution type of 8448adults from 9 provinces and municipalities of China.MethodsA total of 8448 participants from Jiangsu,Anhui,Gansu,Qinghai,Fujian,Beijing,Jilin,Jiangxi and Henan Province were enrolled in this study.The clinical information of constitution type,diet habits and demographic characteristics was collected.Logistic regression analysis was used to evaluate the relationship between diet habits and constitution type.ResultsLogistic regression analysis showed that gentleness type and Qi-deficiency were correlated with sweet food ( OR =1.22,P ＜ 0.05 ). There was a significantly positive correlation between Yangdeficiency and hot food intake ( OR =2.89,P ＜ 0.05 ),as well as between Yin-deficiency and cold food intake ( OR =1.56,P ＜ 0.05).Phlegm-wetness was mainly caused by fatty food consumption ( OR =2.07,P ＜ 0.05 ).Barbecue food was positively correlated with Wet-heat type ( OR =1.64,P ＜ 0.05 ),Bloodstasis type ( OR =1.37,P ＜ 0.05 ),and Qi-depression type ( OR =1.35,P ＜ 0.05 ).Special diathesis type was related to dietary preference of sweet food ( OR =1.29,P ＜ 0.05 ).ConclusionDifferent type of constitution may be related to specific lifestyle or diet habits,and diet habit might play a positive role in Gentleness type or health condition.

BACKGROUND:Stimulation of the pudendal nerve as a target can improve neurogenic bladder dysfunction after spinal cord injury, by adjusting the frequency, intensity, pulse width, as wel as regulating synergistic effect of detrusor and urethral sphincter. OBJECTIVE: To assess the research status of electrical stimulation of the pudendal nerve in the treatment of neurogenic bladder dysfunction after spinal cord injury. METHODS: We searched the folowing databases for articles addressing electrical stimulation of the pudendal nerve for neurogenic bladder dysfunction after spinal cord injury: PubMed, Cochrane Central Register of Controled Trials (CENTRAL), China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Database, and VIP Database. The search was updated to July 2014, and the reference lists of the identified studies were manualy screened for additional studies. The study selection and data extraction were independently conducted by two reviewers. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Fourteen studies were included in this review. We derived the folowing points by analyzing the included studies: Electrical stimulation of the pudendal nerve has positive effects on rehabilitation of neurogenic bladder dysfunction after spinal cord injury; pudendal nerve electrical stimulation can modulate the coordination of the detrusor and the external urethral sphincter, improve the bladder compliance and restore bladder function by regulating pudendal-to-bladder reflex and spinal reflexes to the bladder. Electrical stimulation of the pudendal nerve may be potentialy implemented as a feasible treatment of neurogenic bladder dysfunction after spinal cord injury. More high quality researches should be conducted to clarify the efficacy and the potential active mechanisms of pudendal nerve electrical stimulation for neurogenic bladder dysfunction after spinal cord injury because the number of clinical reports published in this study area is limited, neurophysiological mechanisms underlying biphasic regulation of frequency on bladder function are not wel known, and which intensity of pudendal nerve electrical stimulation is more effective than others for the treatment of neurogenic bladder dysfunction after spinal cord injury remains unknown.

Objective To evaluate the outcomes of small (5 ～ 10mm),arterially enhancing nodules (SAENs)shown exclusively at the hepatic arterial phase of CT in a hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) surveillance population and to determine risk factors for developing HCC.Methods The study population included 112 patients (maleifemale =100 ∶ 12 ; aged 36 ～ 92 years) with 1 7 5 SAENs who were at risk of HCC.We evaluated serial changes during follow-up(1.4 ～41.8 months,mean 35.7 months) and analysed the initial CT findings of SAENs and the accompanying lesions to elucidate the risk factors for HCC development.Results Of 175 SAENs,101 (57.7％) disappeared and 34(19.4％) persisted.Forty SAENs(22.9％) became HCC in 33 patients(29.5％).Presence of HCC treatment history(P =0.005,risk ratio =7.429),a larger size of SAEN(P =0.003,risk ratio =1.630),presence of coexistent HCC(P =0.021,risk ratio =3.777) and absence of coexistent typical arterioportal shunts (P =0.003,risk ratio =4.459) turned out to be independently significant risk factors for future development of HCC.Conclusion SAENs are frequently seen in an HCC surveillance population and have a 22.9％ probability of becoming HCC on a per-lesion basis.Risk increased particularly when the lesion is associated with a previous or concurrent HCC,a large size or found without a coexistent typical arterioportal shunt.

Objective To explore the CT and MRI manifestations and diagnosis of elastofibroma dorsi(EFD).Methods CT or MRI findings of 20 cases (36 lesions)of EFD confirmed by surgical pathology were analyzed retrospectively.12 patients underwent plain chest CT,4 patients plain chest MRI,4 patients plain unilateral shoulder MRI.Results ① All of cases were located in the infrascapular region,between the thorax wall and serratus anterior,mainly shaped flat mound-like or semi-circular.CT densities and MRI signal intensities of the masses were similar to those of muscle with some interlaced fat-like areas within the lesions.The masses had irregular edges, with no clear boundary between the thorax wall and serratus anterior,with disappeared fat gaps.② Statistical difference were found in patients’incidence between men and women,incidence between unilateral and bilateral and lesion volume between the left and right (P <0.05),and the incidence in female was significantly higher than that in male,the incidence in bilateral was significantly higher than that in unilateral,the lesion volume in the right was bigger than that in the left.Conclusion ① EFD has its characteristic location and imaging findings,so a definite diagnosis can be made with CT and MRI.② The mechanical friction between the scapula and chest wall may be related to tumor growth.

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of mirror therapy in treating the upper limbs of patients with stroke.Methods The PUBMED,MEDLINE,EMbase,Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL),ISI Web of Knowledge,OVID,CNKI,VIP and Wanfang Data databases were searched for reports of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of mirror therapy in the treatment of the upper limbs of patients with stroke from the date of establishment of each database to April 2012.The bibliographies of the studies retrieved were also searched.Two independent researchers evaluated the included studies using the risk of bias provided by Cochrane Library.The extracted data were analyzed using RevMan 5.1 software and version 3.6 of the GRAED profiler.Results Reports of 9 trials were discovered.Meta-analysis showed that compared to the group that didn't have visual feedback,mirror therapy did not significantly increase Fugl-Meyer assessment (FMA) (Upper Limb) scores after 4 weeks of treatment compared with groups that did not have visual feedback.Mirror therapy also did not significantly increase average scores on the action research arm test (ARAT) after 6 weeks of treatment.Mirror therapy did,however,increase average Brunnstrom stage scores for the hand after 4 weeks of treatment and at a 6-month follow-up.Mirror therapy did not increase average scores on the modified Ashworth scale (MAS) after 4 weeks of treatment,but increased MAS scores were observed at a 6-month follow-up compared with a group which had no visual feedback.Mirror therapy increased functional independence measure (FIM) self-care scores after 4 weeks of treatment and at a 6-month follow-up,and it also increased modified Barthel index (MBI) scores after 4 weeks of treatment.In the GRADE system,the scores of Brunnstrom stages for the hand after 4 weeks of treatment were of moderate quality,but those scores and the MAS scores at the 6-month follow-up were of low quality.The FIM selfcare scores after 4 weeks and at the 6-month follow-up and the MBI scores measured after 4 weeks were of very low quality.Conclusion This evidence shows that mirror therapy can improve upper limb function and quality of daily life to some extent after stroke.However,because of the limitations of the previous studies such as poor quality,different end points,different rating scales and different courses of stroke,more high-quality,randomized,controlled trials with larger samples are needed to evaluate the effectiveness of mirror therapy in the rehabilitation of upper limb function after stroke.

Objective To study the mechanism of mast cell increase in cellular leiomyoma of uterus.Methods Tissue sections from 30 cases of cellular leiomyoma of uterus,15 cases of leiomyosarcoma and 30 cases of ordinary leiomyoma were studied using immunohistochemical double labeling techniques.The expression of mast cell tryptase ahd Ki-67 as well as mast cell tryptase and chemotactic factors RANTES,Eotaxin,monocyte chemoattractant protein-1(MCP-1),transforming growth factor-? (TGF-?)were double immunostained.Results Ki-67 in mast cells was rarely expressed in each group. Expressions of regulate upon activation normal T cell expressed and secreted(RANTES),Eotaxin and TGF-? in cellular leiomyoma were 78%,89%,91%,respectively.They were all higher than those in ordinary leiomyoma and leiomyosarcoma(P

Objective To investigate the effect of ifenprodil in the mice of bone cancer pain.Methods 96 male C3H/HeJ mice were divided randomly into tumor group( Group T),control group( Group C) and sham group( Group S).The α-minimal essence media(ct-MEM) with 2 × l05 osteosarcoma NCTC 2472 cells were implanted into the intramedullary space of the right femurs of mice to induce ongoing bone cancer related pain behaviors.The sham group was inoculated by α-MEM without any cells.On the 14th d after inoculation,pain ethology indexes such as the spontaneous lifting behaviors,the paw withdrawal mechanical threshold(PWMT) and the paw withdrawal thermal latency (PWTL)were observed on 1 d before inoculation and on 3 d,5 d,7 d,10 d,14 d,17 d,19 d,23 d after inoculation.Lumbar intumescentia of mice in each group were taken out to investigate the expression level of NR2B western blot after pain behaviors tests at the same time point after intrathecal injection.Results ( 1 ) At day14 after the operation,the obvious increasing of spontaneous lifting behaviors ( ( 12.88 ±1.64) ) and the expression of NR2B (2.12 ±0.13),the significant decreasing of PWMT( (0.39 ±0.17)g) and PWTL( ( 11.59 ± 1.67 ) s ) were observed in group T compared with group S and preoperative base level (P ＜ 0.05 ).(2) At day 17,day 19 and day 23 after the operation,compared with the basal level of dayl4 before administration and group C,the spontaneous lifting behaviors ( (5.13 ± 1.38),(4.70 ± 1.58),(5.64 ± 1.17) ) of group T were obviously decreased,PWMT ( ( 1.10 ± 0.65 ) g,( 0.95 ± 0.56 ) g,( 1.05 ± 0.26 ) g) and PWTL ( ( 15.17 ± 1.27) s,( 15.93 ± 2.18 ) s,( 16.28 ± 1.48 ) s ) were increased,the expression of NR2B ( ( 1.42 ± 0.17),(1.67 ±0.53),(1.14 ±0.79) ) were significantly decreased(P＜0.05).Conclusion Repeated intratheal injection of ifenprodil can efficiently relieve spontaneous lifting behaviors,mechanical hyperalgia and thermal hyperalgia and decrease the expression of lumbar intumescentia NR2B in the mouse model of bone cancer pain.

ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of intrathecal injection of magnesium sulfate ( MgSO4 ) on pain behavior in mouse with bone cancer pain.Methods56 male 8-10 week old C3H/HeJ mice weighing 18-22 g were divided randomly into 7 groups ( n =8 ):sham group (S group),control group (C group) and MgSO4 plus morphine treat groups( T1-T5 group).Croup C and T mice were induced bone cancer pain models by intra-rightfemur inoculation of osteolytic NCTC2472 cells while group S were injected of only α-MEM.On the 14d after inoculation,group S and C received intrathecal injection of artificial cerebrospinal fluid 5 μl,while group T1-T5 received intrathecal injection of MgSO4 14.4 μg,43.2 μg,86.4 μg,morphine 0.36 μg,MgSO4 14.4 μg-morphine 0.36 μg,which were dissolved in 5 μl artificial cerebrospinal fluid.Micc received pain behavior tests including quantification of spontaneous flinches,paw withdrawal mechanical threshold (PWMT) and paw withdrawal thermal latency (PWTL) at 0.5h before and 0.5h,2h,4h,gh after administration.ResultsTreatment with MgSO4 (14.4 μg),morphine (0.36 μg) have no effect on bone cancer pain,while treatment with MgSO4 (43.2 μg,86.4 μg)can dose-dependently reverse quantification of spontaneous flinches,mechanical allodynia and thermal hypcralgesia which were induced by inoculation as well as MgSO4 14.4 μg-morphine 0.36 μg.At 0.5 h after administration,the quantification of spontancous flinches of the three groups( ( 10.08 ± 1.66),(7.35 ± 1.36),( 10.54 ± 1.32 ) ) were decrcased when compared with control group ( 13.05 ± 2.06 ),PWMT ( (0.81 ± 0.22 ) g; ( 1.33 ± 0.19)g; (0.93 ±0.26)g),PWTL( (10.57 ±1.53)s; (13.12 ±1.71)s; (11.46 ±1.83)s) were increased when compared with control group ( (0.42 ± 0.23 ) g,( 8.87 ± 1.27 ) s) (P ＜ 0.05 ).The effect reached maximum level at 2h,lasted for at least 4h and disappeared at 8h.ConclusionIntrathecal injection MgSO4 can effectively attenuate bone cancer pain dose-dependently.At the same time MgSO4 can amplify the analgesic effect of subliminal morphine.

Six bacterial strains were isolated from lead-zinc mine tailings with the age of about 100 years, and their phylogenetic position was determined by the analysis of partial 16S rRNA gene sequence. Three strains belonged to genus Arthrobacter, and were close to A. nicotinovorans and A. histidinolovorans. Other three strains belonged to genus Agromyces, and were close to Ag. mediolanus. All of them were resistant to Pb(NO_(3))_(2), CdCl_(2), ZnSO_(4), CuSO_(4) and CoCl_2. Relatively, minimal inhibitory concentration(MIC)of Zn~(2+) and Co~(2+) of three Arthrobacter strains was significantly higher than that of three Agromyces strains. Additionally, these strains displayed strong adsorption of Pb(NO_(3))_(2), CdCl_(2), ZnSO_(4). Averagely three Arthrobacter strains could adsorb about 400mg of Pb~(2+), 177mg of Cd~(2+) or 80mg of Zn~(2+) per gram of dried cells. Therefore, these strains were important candidates for application in bioremediation of heavy metal-contaminated environment.
