Except the ratio of peak and basal level, all the other five indices of the LH response to LHRH were significantly lower in IGHD patients than in normals of puberty. The functional reserve of LH cell was low in about 2/3 IGHD patients. These results might explain the delayed or no puberty in adult IGHD patients.
4. Effect of estrogen receptor α on transactivation and expression of Gli1 in breast cancer cells

Objective: It has been found that the expression of Hedgehog signaling molecule Gli1 can inhibit the activity of estrogen signaling pathway. The present study is to observe the effect of estrogen receptor α (ERα) on the transactivation and expression of Gli1 in breast cancer cells, so as to study whether there is a cross talk between the two pathways. Methods: Using luciferase reporter gene transactivation analysis, we cotransfected MCF-7 cells with pGli-BS-luc, PcDNA3. 1-Gli1, pRL-CMV, pSG5-ERa or equimolar amounts of pSG5 vector. Then the cells were subjected to Luciferase Assays to analyze the change of Gli1 transactivation. The mRNA and protein expression of Gli1 following ectopic overexpression of ERa was also analyzed by quantitative real-time PCR and Western blotting analysis. Results= Expression of ERα induced the luciferase activity in a dose-dependent manner. ERα at 500 ng/well increased the activity of luciferase by 3.5 folds (P<0.001). The luciferase activity had no obvious changes after estrogen treatment. Overexpression of ERα increased the expression of Gli1 mRNA by 2 folds (P< 0.01), and obviously increased the expression of Gli1 protein. Conclusion: Overexpression of ERa in MCF-7 cells can greatly increase the transactivity of Gli1 and increase its expression, which indicates that there is a cross talk between the two transcription factors in breast cancer cells.
5.Clinical Attack Type and Electroencephalogram Features of 36 Cerebral Palsy Children with Epilepsy

ObjectiveTo investigate the relationship between the clinical type of attack and electroencephalogram (EEG) features of cerebral palsy (CP) children with epilepsy (EP).MethodsThe EEGs of 36 CP cases with EP were recorded under natural circumstances.Results20 cases (55.6%) had focal high amplitude spikes and wave complexes; 4 cases (11.1%) had typical hypsarrhythmia; 3 cases (8.3%) had varied hypsarrhythmia. Among them, the spikes and wave complexes of 9 cases were bilateral.ConclusionThe most of the clinical attack and EEG characters of CP children with EP are partial type.
6.Analysis of correlative factors effecting on diopter in myopia

Objective To study the correlations between diopter,axis length,cornea curvature and thickness in myopia patients. Design Prospective case series.Participant 300 myopic patients who were ready for LASIK.Method 300 myopic patients who were ready for LASIK were selected randomly.They were divided into four groups according to the diopter of myopia:low myopia group (≤-3.00D)41 cases,medium myopia group(>-3.00D,≤-6.00D)130 cases,high myopia group(>-6.00D,≤-9.00D)95 cases,and super myopia group(>-9.00D)34 cases.The axis length,cornea thickness,cornea eurvture and diopter of myopia were detected. Through analysis of variance(ANOVA),Pearson correlation analysis and linear regression analysis,the correlations between axis length, cornea thickness,curvature and diopter of myopia were made out in four groups.Main Outcome Measure Diopter of myopia,cornea curvature,axis length of eye and central cornea thickness.Result The axis length of low myopia group,medium myopia group,high myopia group and super myopia group was(24.32?1.73)mm,(25.33?1.49)mm,(26.04?1.92)mm,(27.47?2.57)mm respectively. There were obvious differences of axis lengths between four groups(P=0.000).The cornea curvature in high myopia group was obviously different from those in low myopia group and medium myopia group.There were no significant differences of cornea thickness among four groups(P=0.409).The axis lengths of eyes respectively had correlations with diopters(r=0.734,P=0.000),vertical and horizontal cornea curvatures(r=-0.312,P=0.000;r=-0.328,P=0.000).Conclusion The main effective factor on the diopter of myopia is the axis length for most patients.For the patients with high myopia,the cornea curvature is another effective factor.With the increase of axis length,the cornea curvature decreases,and the cornea turns flatter.(Ophthalmol CHN,2006,15:321-323)
7.The current status and future in limbal stem cells research

The discovery of limbal stem cells is the key advancement in ophthalmology in the 20th century.Many clinical researches have proved that limbal stem cells transplantation is an effective method to treat severe ocular surface diseases.However, some important issues associated with the identification,isolation,standardized culture in vitro and differentiation after transplantation are still not clear and need to be paid more attention.Strengthening the underlaying research in this field will play important role in treating corneal blindness.
8.Isolation of genes that are induced by Ty21a in intestinal cells by suppression subtractive hybridization (SSH)

Objective:To isolate the genes induced by Ty21a. Methods: Prepare the intestinal cells of Balb/C mouse with and without Ty21a immunization, extract the polyA+ RNA, synthesize the dscDNA by using reverse transcription-PCR,get the differentially expressed genes by suppression subtractive hybridization(SSH).Results:Seven genes were novel genes revealed by GenBank searching whose expression were probably induced by Ty21a were isolated by SSH and cDNA microarray. The full length cDNA sequence of three genes are now obtaining through RACE-PCR. Conclusion: SSH is an effective method for isolating the differentiatlly expressed genes; High throughput cDNA microanay is a credibility method to profile changes in gene expression; Ty21a can induce the expression of some new genes related to immune.

Object:To explore the value of multi-station examination in medical students'clinic skills.Methods:The bedside examination was compared with the multi-station examination.Results:The multi-station examination was more comprehensive,objective and impartial in the evaluation of medical students'clinical skills.Conclusion:The multi-station examination is superior to the bedside examination.
