Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;(24):3889-3893
BACKGROUND:At present, isokinetic testing system has attracted more and more attentions in the evaluation of athlete muscle function, but its application in the detection of waist and abdomen muscle strength characteristics in juvenile male basketbal athletes is rarely reported. OBJECTIVE:To study the biomechanical characteristics of waist flexor and extensor muscles inoutstanding juvenile male basketbal athletes in order to provide the basis for waist and abdominal strength training, scientific selection and prevention of lumbar abdomen injury in basketbal sport. METHODS:Eighteen athletes from the Guangzhou Men’s Basketbal Team were subjected to the detection of muscle strength and work of waist flexor and extensor muscles at 60(°)/s and 180(°)/s using Cybex-Norm isokinetic test system. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:At the same testing speed, the peak torque and relative peak torque of the extensor muscles were higher than those of the flexor muscles (P<0.01). The increase in the peak torque, relative peak torque and total work of the waist extensor and flexor muscles exhibited a reduced tendency with the increasing of testing speed (P<0.05);the peak torque and relative peak torque of the extensor muscles were decreased more significantly (P<0.01);the relative power of the waist extensor and flexor muscles were increased gradual y with the increasing of testing speed (P<0.01). These parameters were better in perimeter players than in post players. Under the isokinetic concentric contraction, the peak torque ratio of extensor to flexor muscles showed a decreasing trend with the increasing of testing speed and the waist flexor peak torque and extensor muscles flexion showed a decreasing trend, and the trunk stability was weakened. These findings indicate that the muscle strength of the extensor muscles was higher than that of the flexor muscles;the muscles strength of the waist flexor and extensor muscles was better in perimeter players than in post players. In isokinetic rapid movement, the muscle strength of the waist flexor and extensor muscles were reduced and the balance of the muscle strength of the waist flexor and extensor muscles was weakened, suggesting rapid strength training of the waist and abdominal core muscles should be strengthened in juvenile male basketbal athletes.

1.5). The mean intakes of riboflavin were 1.05 mg/day in the 2nd trimester and 1.03 mg/day in 3rd. The correlation of BGRAC value and riboflavin intake (riboflavin per day, ridoflavin per 1000 kcal/day) demonstrated a significant negative correlation. The cord blood BGRAC values were in normal range, indicating that placenta may transport riboflavin from mother to fetus actively. The mean riboflavin content of colostrum was 22.9ug/dl.

Ophthalmology in China 1994;0(02):-
Objective To investigate the surgical treatment and early intravitreal injection of antibiotics to the curative effects of vitrectomy for exogenous endophthalmitis. Design Retrospective case-controlled study. Participants From Jan 2000 to Dec 2004, 94 patients(94 eyes), diagnosed as endophthalmitis were evaluated retrospectively. Methods All patients underwent pars plana vitrectomy. 46 patients (46 eyes) underwent the intravitreal injection of antibiotics early before undergoing vitrectomy from 3 to 14 days (mean 5.6 days) (group Ⅰ). The other 48 patients (48 eyes) underwent vitrectomy directly (group Ⅱ). Postoperative follow-up ranged from 3 to 12 months (mean 7.5 months). Main Outcome Measures Visual acuity. Results The visual acuities of these 94 patients improved significantly after vitrectomy (P=0.000). The rate of curative effects in group Ⅰ was significantly higher than that of the group Ⅱ (P=0.029). According to the further analysis, the rates of curative effects of the patients underwent vitrectomy in 7 days were similar between group Ⅰ and group Ⅱ(P=0.692), but the rates of curative effects of the patients underwent vitrectomy after 7 days were obviously different between two groups (P=0.008). Conclusions Undergoing vitrectomy as early as possible is a good available method for the treatment of exogenous endophthalmitis. If the vitrectomy can not be undergone early, intravitreal injection of antibiotics in time before vitrectomy may increase the therapeutic effect of exogenous endophthalmitis obviously.
7. Influence of 8-alkyl-berberine on ethology and neurotransmitter in brain tissue of anxiety model mice
Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 2014;45(20):2953-2957
Objective: To investigate the anti-anxiety effect of 8-alkyl-berberine in anxiety model mice and explore the mechanism. Methods: The anti-anxiety effect of 8-alkyl-berberine was evaluated with light-dark box test and elevated plus-maze (EPM). The contents of norepinephrine (NE), dopamine (DA), and 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) in brain tissue were detected by high performance liquid chromatography-fluorescence detector (HPLC-FLD). Results: The light-dark box test indicated that 8-butyl-, 8-octyl-, 8-dodecyl-, and 8-hexadecyl-berberine could obviously increase the time spent in light box (P < 0.05) compared with the control group. The number of transitions in 8-octyl-berberine group was significantly increased (P < 0.05). The results of EPM showed that 8-octyl-berberine significantly increased the percentage of the times entering the open arms (OE%) and staying duration in the total period (OT%) (P < 0.05). There was variation observed in the concentration of monoamine neurotransmitters of 8-octyl-berberine. Conclusion: 8-Alkyl-berberine has a certain anxiolytic effect. The mechanism may be related to the regulation of the contents of NE, DA and 5-HT in the brain tissues.
