Journal of Clinical Pediatrics 2015;(6):504-510
The complement system, the chief component of innate immunity, is not only required for host defense against pathogens and homeostasis, but also related to the pathogenesis and development of various kidney diseases. Recent study has shown that tissue-derived complement and immune cell-derived complement can each mediate local inlfammation. The comple-ment system acts as a bridge between innate and adaptive immunity. Furthermore it’s also a functional bridge between pathogenic humoral and cellular immune responses in an array of kidney diseases. Increasing evidence links inappropriate complement acti-vation and deifciencies of complement proteins to the pathogenesis of kidney autoimmune disease, ischemia-reperfusion injury, transplant rejection and complications in hemodialysis. The development of pharmacologic agents that target complement in pa-tients with this assortment of immune and/or inlfammatory kidney diseases has the potential to abrogate disease progression and improve patient health.

China Biotechnology 2006;0(10):-
Hepatitis C virus (HCV) accounts for the majority of cases of transfusion acquired hepatitis and may cause chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. Currently, there is no vaccine against HCV and treatment is expensive and not always effective. The adaptive host immune response in viral clearance of HCV infection was described and the recent progress in vaccine development of HCV, focusing on the fields of DNA vaccine candidates, recombinant viral vectored vaccine candidates and combined (prime-boost) vaccine candidates were summarized. Some challenges and limitations of developing a HCV vaccine were also analysed. In summary, a promising approach of developing an experimental HCV vaccine to induce extremely potent and broad T-cell responses based on prime-boost strategy was presented.

Journal of Jilin University(Medicine Edition) 2006;0(06):-
Objective To determine the existence of RBM6-RBM5 chimera and study its relationship with oncogenesis. Methods Ten cell lines including GLC-20,MDA.MB.231,Jurkat,TF-1,MCF-7,Hela,BT-474,A431,K562 and Raji ; several cDNAs from tumor tissues including lung, ovary, skeletal, skin, spleen, uterus, heart, bone, brain, lymph node, pancreas, prostate, testis and their normal controls and 5 breast cancer tissues were collected for the study.Nested PCR was used to identify the existence and expression level of RBM6-RBM5 chimera.QPCR was used to determine the RBM6,RBM5 gene expression level in chimeric positive and negative tumor tissues. Results RBM6-RBM5 chimera was identified in MDA,MB,231 cell line, which lacked exons 20,21 of RBM6 and exon 1 of RBM5.The chimeric expression was only observed on 10 tumor cell lines and tissues, among some specific tumor types, the chimeric expression was associated with elevated levels of RBM6 and RBM5 mRNA.Conclusion RBM6 mRNA experiences altered co-transcriptional gene regulation in certain cancers.RBM6-RBM5 transcription-induced chimerism might be a process that is linked to the tumor-associated increased transcriptional activity of the RBM6 and RBM5 genes, and this chimera might be a new marker for tumor prediction.

[Objective] To observe the clinical therapeutic effect of Yanyan Decoction on treating yin deficiency of lung and kidney chronic pharyngitis . [Methods] 120 cases of patients were randomly divided into treatment group(60 cases) which treated with Yanyan Decoction and control group(60 cases) which treated with Jinguo drink.[Results] The total effective power was 80.00% in the treatment group and 63.33% in the control group .Two groups of patients total effective rates had difference of statistical meaning .[Conclusion] The effect of Yanyan Decoction in the treatment of yin deficiency of lung and kidney chronic pharyngitis is significant,it is worthy of clinical promotion.

Objective To explore the significance of serum cytokine interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) ,interleukin-4(IL ) ,transforming growth factor-beta 1 (TGF-β1) ,interleukin-9 (IL-9) ,interleukin-17 (IL-17) in detection of youth first-episode depression .Methods Ninety cases of youth first-episode depression as the experimental group were equally divided into 3 groups according to different disease courses(<6 months ,6 months to 2 years ,>2 years)and other 30 normal persons served as the control group .The levels of serum cytokines were measured by ELISA .The level of each cytokine and Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) score were per-formed the Spearman correlation analysis .Results The IL-9 level in the 6 months to 2 years group and > 2 years group was high-er than that in the control group (P< 0 .05);the IFN-γlevel was negatively correlated with psychic anxiety (P<0 .05);the IL-9 level was positively correlated with the somatic anxiety and systemic symptoms (P<0 .05);the IL-17 level was positively correla-ted with the depressive mood and suicide (P<0 .05);the IFN-γlevel was positively correlated with difficulty falling asleep ,early a-wakening ,work and interest in the 6 months to 2 years group ,while positively correlated with somatic anxiety (P<0 .05);the IFN-γ level was positively correlated with depressive mood and block in the >2 years group(P<0 .05);the IL-4 level was positively correlated with the depressive mood (P<0 .05) .Conclusion Different cytokines play different roles in youth first-episode depres-sion ,cytokines may involve in the occurrence and development of depression .

World Journal of Emergency Medicine 2010;1(3):185-189
BACKGROUND: Serum creatinine (SCr) is the most commonly used parameter to estimate renal function impairement, but there are some shortcomings. Many factors including age, gender, drug, diet, muscle mass and metabolic rate can influence SCr, leading to an inaccurate estimation of kidney impairment. Studies have shown that cystatin C (CysC) is not affected by factors such as muscle mass, age, gender, diet, inflammation or tumor. The present study was undertaken to compare the sensitivity of CysC and SCr in evaluating renal function impairment at early stage of shock. METHODS: Seventy-one patients aged 38.3±21.4 years, who had been treated at the Emergency Medicine Department of the First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University between February 2006 and June 2007, were studied. They were divided into groups A, B, C, and D according to the shock time. Serum sample was drawn from each patient at 1, 2, 3, 4 hours after shock to determine SCr and CysC. CysC and SCr were determined again at 72 hours and 7 days after shock. RESULTS: CysC increased earlier than SCr in the 71 patients, and CysC decreased slower than SCr when shock was corrected. CysC increased at 1 hour after shock. There was a negative correlationship between CysC, SCr and glomerular filtration rate (GFR), especially at early stage of shock. CONCLUSIONS: There is renal injury at early stage of shock. CysC is more sensitive than SCr in assessing renal function at the early stage of shock.

Objective To review the clinical data of reduction mammoplasty by central pedicle technique, and to summarize all kinds of the complications to modify the technique for improvement of long term aesthetic effects. Methods The postoperative complications were analyzd and then an approach was used to investigate the pattern of the blood supply and the nerve distribution of breast.Based on the anatomical study,a modified double-circle reduction mammoplasty technique was designed to treat patients with hypertrophical breasts. Results With a follow-up for 3 months to 3 years, the patients who underwent this modified central pedicle technique, had an invisible scar, good projection, the better shape of breast and preserved their sensation of nipple-areola complex. Conclusions Modified central pedicle technique is a safe and reliable technique, especially ideal for Chinese women. The blood supply is rich and the sensation of nipple-areola complex is preserved. The fixation of the gland tissue is more important than the dermal-bra.
