Objective: To investigate the trends in incidence and mortality of lung cancer in Huangpu District, Shanghai Municipality from 2002 to 2019, so as to provide the evidence for formulating lung cancer prevention and control measures. Methods: Data of lung cancer incidence and mortality among residents in Huangpu District from 2002 to 2019 were collected through the Shanghai Cancer Registration and Reporting Management System. The crude incidence and mortality of lung cancer was calculated, and standardized by the data from the Chinese Fifth National Population Census in 2000 (Chinese-standardized rate) and the Segi's world standard population in 1960 (world-standardized rate). The trends in incidence and mortality of lung cancer among residents by age and gender were evaluated using annual percent change (APC). Results: A total of 12 965 cases of lung cancer were reported in Huangpu District from 2002 to 2019, and the crude incidence rate was 80.66/105, the Chinese-standardized incidence rate was 34.54/105, and the world-standardized incidence rate was 31.30/105, all showing upward trends (APC=4.588%, 2.933% and 3.247%, all P<0.05). A total of 10 102 deaths of lung cancer were reported, and the crude mortality rate was 62.30/105, showing an upward trend (APC=0.959%, P<0.05); the Chinese-standardized mortality was 25.93/105, and the world-standardized mortality was 22.05/105, both showing downward trends (APC=-1.282% and -1.263%, both P<0.05). The crude incidence and mortality rates of lung cancer in males were higher than those in females (101.39/105 vs. 60.52/105, 85.45/105 vs. 39.87/105, both P<0.05). The crude incidence and mortality rates of lung cancer showed upward trends with age (both P<0.05), reaching their peaks in the age groups of 80-<85 years (341.37/105) and 85 years or above (355.97/105), respectively. Conclusions The incidence of lung cancer showed an upward trend, while the mortality showed a downward trend in Huangpu District from 2002 to 2019. Elderly men were the high-risk group for lung cancer incidence and mortality.

Objective To explore the effects of air pressure, humidity, wind, and sunshine on the incidence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases (CVD) in Guiyang, and to provide reference for the prevention of CVD. Methods Using CVD incidence data from September 2021 to August 2022 in Guiyang City and meteorological data including average air pressure, average humidity, wind, and sunshine during the same period, the effects of meteorological factors on CVD incidence were explored and the importance of each factor was analyzed. Results When air pressure was below 868 hPa, above 887 hPa, or between 877 and 883 hPa, and when air pressure dropped less than 5.3 hPa within 24 hours, there was a higher risk of CVD. When the humidity was above 81%, the wind speed was small (<1.2 m/s) or high (>4m/s), and there was less sunlight (less than 3 hours), the risk of CVD was higher. Low humidity (<60%) was not conducive to the onset of CVD. There were highest risks at lag 5~10 days and 4-25 days for high pressure and low sunlight, respectively. When the relative humidity was saturated, there was an immediate effect. When the wind speed was low and high, the immediate effect and hysteresis effects were significant. Among the above meteorological factors, the impact of 24-hour variation of pressure and high or low atmospheric pressure on the incidence of CVD was the most significant, while the impact of sunlight and humidity was the weakest. The impact of diurnal variations in wind and atmospheric pressure was not clear. Conclusion The impact of air pressure on the incidence of CVD does not exhibit a simple linear relationship. The risk of CVD is high in high humidity, low light, and moderate or strong winds. It is necessary to fully consider changes in meteorological factors for CVD prevention and control.

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the cost-utility of ciclesonide （CIC） versus budesonide （BUD） for the maintenance treatment of mild to moderate bronchial asthma. METHODS From the perspective of Chinese health service system， a Markov model was established based on the data from a clinical trial in China and some literature. The cycle length was 1 week， the time horizon was 60 years. A discount rate of 5% per year was applied. Cost-utility analysis was performed on therapeutic scheme of CIC and BUD using three times of China’s per capita gross domestic product （GDP） in 2023 as the threshold of willing-to-pay （WTP）. One-way sensitivity analysis， probabilistic sensitivity analysis and scenario analysis were applied to test the uncertainty of basic analysis. RESULTS Compared with BUD scheme， the incremental cost of the CIC scheme was 9 401.67 yuan， and the incremental quality-adjusted life years（QALYs） were 0.001 3； incremental cost-effectiveness ratio （ICER） was 6 928 868.26 yuan/QALY， far beyond the threshold of WTP 268 074 yuan/QALY. One-way sensitivity analysis showed that the usage， dosage and unit price of CIC and BUD were parameters that had a significant impact on ICER； probabilistic sensitivity analysis showed that the basic analysis results were relatively robust； scenario analysis showed that， when the price of CIC reduced to 159.95 yuan/branch， the probability of CIC scheme having economics was similar to that of BUD scheme. CONCLUSIONS At the current price， CIC is not economical compared with BUD for the maintenance treatment of mild to moderate asthma， using three times of China’s GDP in 2023 as the threshold of WTP.

[Objective] To investigate the infection and characteristics of hepatitis E virus among blood donors in Hangzhou. [Methods] A total of 5 075 blood samples of blood donors from Zhejiang Provincial Blood Center from September to November 2023 were collected, including 5 037 samples with normal ALT and 38 samples with elevated ALT (>50 U/L). Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to detect anti-HEV IgM, anti-HEV IgG and HEV-Ag. The Fisher test and Chi-square test were used to evaluate the difference in the reactivity rates of anti-HEV IgM and anti-HEV IgG among different levels of ALT. The distribution characteristics of HEV screening in blood donors were analyzed. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression were used to analyze the susceptibility factors of anti-HEV IgM and anti-HEV IgG seropositivity, and the anti-HEV IgM-reactive blood donors were followed up by telephone. [Results] The reactivity rates of anti-HEV IgM, anti-HEV IgG and HEV-Ag in 5 075 blood samples were 0.45%, 22.98% and 0%, respectively. There was no difference in the reactivity rates of anti-HEV IgM and anti-HEV IgG among different levels of ALT (P>0.05), and the results of univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that age was a risk factor for anti-HEV IgM and anti-HEV IgG reactivity in blood donors (P<0.05), while no difference in the reactivity rates of anti-HEV IgM and anti-HEV IgG among blood donors was noticed in gender, occupation and education level (P>0.05). [Conclusion] There is a potential risk of transfusion-transmitted HEV (TT-HEV) in Hangzhou, and a cost-effective HEV screening strategy needs to be established to continue regular HEV surveillance in Hangzhou to assess the risk of infection.

ObjectiveTo explore the potential mechanism of Xiezhuo Jiedu prescription in regulating autophagy in the treatment of ulcerative colitis （UC） by bioinformatics and animal experiments. MethodsThe differentially expressed genes （DEGs） in the colonic mucosal tissue of UC patients was obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus （GEO）， and those overlapped with autophagy genes were obtained as the differentially expressed autophagy-related genes （DEARGs）. DEARGs were imported into Metascape and STRING， respectively， for gene ontology/Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomics （GO/KEGG） enrichment analysis and protein-protein interaction （PPI） analysis. Finally， 15 key DEARGs were obtained. The core DEARGs were obtained by least absolute shrinkage and selection operator （LASSO） regression and receiver operating characteristic curve （ROC） analysis. The CIBERSORT deconvolution algorithm was used to analyze the immunoinfiltration of UC patients and the correlations between core DEARGs and immune cells. C57BL/6J mice were assigned into a normal group and a modeling group. The mouse model of UC was established by free drinking of 2.5% dextran sulfate sodium. The modeled mice were assigned into low-， medium-， and high-dose Xiezhuo Jiedu prescription and mesalazine groups according to the random number table method and administrated with corresponding agents by gavage for 7 days. The colonic mucosal morphology was observed by hematoxylin-eosin staining. The protein and mRNA levels of cysteinyl aspartate-specific proteinase 1 （Caspase-1）， cathepsin B （CTSB）， C-C motif chemokine-2 （CCL2）， CXC motif receptor 4 （CXCR4）， and hypoxia-inducing factor-1α （HIF-1α） in the colon tissue were determined by Western blot and real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction， respectively. ResultsThe dataset GSE87466 was screened from GEO and interlaced with autophagy genes. After PPI analysis， LASSO regression， and ROC analysis， the core DEARGs （Caspase-1， CCL2， CTSB， and CXCR4） were obtained. The results of immunoinfiltration analysis showed that the counts of NK cells， M0 macrophages， M1 macrophages， and dendritic cells in the colonic mucosal tissue of UC patients had significant differences， and core DEARGs had significant correlations with these immune cells. This result， combined with the prediction results of network pharmacology， suggested that the HIF-1α signaling pathway may play a key role in the regulation of UC by Xiezhuo Jiedu prescription. The animal experiments showed that Xiezhuo Jiedu prescription significantly alleviated colonic mucosal inflammation in UC mice. Compared with the normal group， the model group showed up-regulated protein and mRNA levels of caspase-1， CCL2， CTSB， CXCR4， and HIF-1α， which were down-regulated after treatment with Xiezhuo Jiedu prescription or mesalazine. ConclusionCaspase-1， CCL2， CTSB， and CXCR4 are autophagy genes that are closely related to the onset of UC. Xiezhuo Jiedu prescription can down-regulate the expression of core autophagy genes to alleviate the inflammation in the colonic mucosa of mice.

AIM: To evaluate whether Wnt pathway-related genes previously implicated in high myopia(HM)could serve as candidate genes for HM in the Chinese Han population, and to identify risk loci associated with HM susceptibility.METHODS: A case-control association analysis was conducted, involving 530 HM patients(HM group)and 1 087 healthy controls. The test efficacy was estimated using Quanto software. Peripheral blood DNA was extracted using the magnetic bead method, and seven candidate single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)were genotyped using the Sequenom MassARRAY system, including HIVEP3 rs17365632, rs35134694, rs11210537, CTNNB1 rs13072632, CAMK2N1 rs10753502, TCF4 rs41396445 and Wnt7B rs73175083. Differences in allele and genotype frequencies between the HM and healthy control groups were compared under different inheritance models. Haplotype analysis was performed using SHEsis plus.RESULTS: All 7 SNPs had a genotyping detection rate exceeding 90%, and were in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium(P>0.05). The test efficacy of the sample size was above 90.13%, indicating that the samples were representative of the population. In the HM group, the A allele frequency of HIVEP3 rs11210537 was significantly reduced(Pc=0.003, OR=0.889). Conversely, the G allele frequency was significantly elevated(Pc=0.003, OR=1.176). In an additive genetic model(AA vs GG), the AA genotype frequency was significantly lower than the GG genotype frequency(Pc=0.003, OR=0.583). Additionally, the frequency of the CCA haplotype of rs17365632, rs35134694, and rs11210537 in HIVEP3 was decreased in the HM group compared to the control group(Pc=0.008, OR=0.791).CONCLUSION: The SNP locus rs11210537 in the HIVEP3 gene is associated with genetic susceptibility to HM in the Chinese Han population, with the G allele identified as risk genetic markers. The CCA haplotype of rs17365632, rs35134694, and rs11210537 in the HIVEP3 gene represents a protection haplotype for HM.

Ferroptosis is a regulated cell death mechanism that is iron-dependent and characterized by disruption of iron metabolism and accumulation of lipid peroxides. More and more studies have found that ferroptosis is closely related to the onset of CAG. Professor LI Diangui， a master of traditional Chinese medicine， first proposed the turbid toxin theory， which holds that spleen deficiency and turbid toxin is the main pathogenic mechanism of CAG. Abnormal iron metabolism regulation is a prerequisite for the accumulation of turbid toxin in CAG， and ferroptosis is in accordance with the pathogenic mechanism （spleen deficiency and turbid toxin） of CAG. This article explores the pathological mechanism of spleen deficiency and turbid toxin in CAG from the perspectives of iron metabolism， oxidative stress， and lipid peroxidation， providing theoretical support of traditional Chinese medicine for the modern research on CAG. It enriches the modern scientific connotation of the turbid toxicity theory and provides new ideas and breakthrough points for the clinical treatment of CAG.

ObjectiveTo assess the risk of vector-born infectious diseases by monitoring the major vectors in the relevant venues of the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games in Fuyang competition area, so as to provide references for the prevention and control of vector in similar large-scale events or activities in the future. MethodsFrom April to October 2023, monitoring and evaluation of rodent, mosquito, fly and cockroach density levels were carried out in various venues and reception hotels in Fuyang competition area (venues and hotels were the 1st circle area, and various environments and places in the surrounding 500 meters were the 2nd circle area). SPSS 25.0 software was used to analyze the data, and chi-square test or Fisher’s precision probability test were used to calculate the qualified rate and positive rate. Moreover, the path index, landing index and Bretrau index were analyzed by Kruskal-Wallis H test. ResultsThe control effect of vector density in the 1st circle was significantly better than that in the 2nd circle. Since September, the monitoring indices of the venues in the two circles had reached the national A-level and B-level standard, respectively. The positive rate of rodent traces generally showed a trend of first increasing and then decreasing, and the peak was shown to occur in July and August, with the highest rate of 5.38%. The qualified rate of rodent prevention facilities continued to rise, and facilities in the 1st and 2nd circles had reached national A-level and B-level standard respectively in late August. The landing index and path index of mosquitoes basically showed a changing trend from high to low, with the highest landing index of 4.56 individuals·person-time^-1 and the highest path index of 2.44 places·km^-1.The adult fly infestation rate remained at a low level, with the highest rate of 4.17%, and the minimum qualified rate of fly prevention facilities was 28.57%, which reached the national standard after July. The positive detection rates of adult flies and cockroach traces showed no significant pattern, with the highest rate of 7.00% and 8.33%, respectively. The detection rate of live ootheca was always at a low level. ConclusionThe relevant venues in the Fuyang competition area of the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou meet national standards in terms of vector control indicators such as rodents, mosquitoes, flies, cockroaches and other vectors. By means of environmental improvement, facilities for preventing rodents and flies, and deepening biological and chemical prevention and control methods, it can be ensured that there will be no vector-borne diseases and infestation incidents during the event.
