A novel method based on cross sensitivity of cataluminescence (CTL) on nano-Ti3CeY2O11 was proposed for simultaneous determination of formaldehyde, benzene and sulfur dioxide in air.The relations between the concentrations of formaldehyde, benzene and sulfur dioxide and their CTL intensities were respectively ascertained at three wavelengths. The accurate concentrations of formaldehyde, benzene and sulfur dioxide can be calculated by superimposed total CTL intensities. The three analysis wavelengths are 420 nm, 535 nm and 680 nm.The surface temperature of the sensitive materials is 280℃.The carrier gas flow rate is 130 mL/min.The detection limits (3σ) are 0.04 mg/m3 for formaldehyde, 0.05 mg/m3 for benzene and 0.10 mg/m3 for sulfur dioxide, respectively. The linear ranges of CTL intensity versus analyte concentration are 0.08-75.60 mg/m3 for formaldehyde, 0.1-101.40 mg/m3 for benzene and 0.3 to 115.00 mg/m3 for sulfur dioxide. The recoveries of 12 testing standard samples by this method are 96.4%-103.7% for formaldehyde, 97.8%-102.5% for benzene and 97.2%-103.3% for sulfur dioxide.Common coexisting substances, such as acetaldehyde, toluene, hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, methanol, ethanol and carbon dioxide, do not disturb the determination. The relative deviation of CTL signals of continuous 200 h detection for gaseous mixture containing formaldehyde, benzene and sulfur dioxide is less than 2%, which shows the longevity of the nanometer composite oxide to formaldehyde, benzene and sulfur dioxide. This method makes full use of the cross sensitive phenomenon, and can realize the on-line analysis of formaldehyde, benzene and sulfur dioxide in air.

BACKGROUND:SIRT6/NF-κB is the important signal axis to cellsenescence, but the effect of SIRT6/NF-κB signal axis to hematopoietic stem and progenitor cell(HSC/HPC) senescence is unclear. OBJECTIVE:To induce (t-BHP) in vitro and to investigate the role of SIRT6/NF-κB signal axis in Sca-1+HSC/HPC senescence induced by tert-butylhydroperoxide in vitro. METHODS:Sca-1+HSC/HPC was isolated and purified by magnetic activated cellsorting. Sca-1+HSC/HPC senescence was induced by 100μmol/L tert-butylhydroperoxide in vitro. The senescence-associatedβ-Galactosidase staining, cellcycle analysis and culture of mixed hematopoietic progenitor cellwere used to investigate the biological effects of tert-butylhydroperoxide on Sca-1+HSC/HPC senescence. The expression of senescence associated SIRT6, NF-κB mRNA and protein was examined by real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR and western blot assay. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Compared with control group, the percentage of positive cells expressing SA-β-Gal and cells in G0/G1 phase increased and the number of forming colony of mixed hematopoietic progenitor decreased in the aging group. It showed lower expression of SIRT6 and higher expression of NF-κB in the aging group. The SIRT6/NF-κB signal axis may play a key role in the Sca-1+ HSC /HPC senescence inducted by tert-butylhydroperoxide.

Objective To introduce an improved extraction method of prefrontal cortical and striatal synaptosomes from SHR rat. Methods Synaptosomes were prepared from SHR rat brain tissue by Percoll density gradient centrifugation.Transmission electron microscopy was used to assess the morphology and structural integrity of the synaptosomes. Results The obtained synaptosomes showed oval structures surrounded by an intact membrane.Presynaptic components contained one or more mitochondria and a large number of synaptic vesicles. The synaptic clefts were clearly visible, and prominent part of the characteristic compact structure was clear, complete and with higher electron-density. The synaptosome presynaptic membrane, synaptic cleft, and postsynaptic membrane were well preserved, and the synaptosomes were densely distributed, showing typical morphological characteristics of synaptosomes. Conclusions The results of our study improved the traditional preparation method and provide a less time-consuming, highly productive protocol for preparation of structurally typical and intact synaptosomes, suitable for further research on neuroscience and neurological diseases.

Previous studies have suggested that various kinds of inflammatory factors can influence the formation and development of tumor cells.Researche has shown that gallbladder cancer is closely linked with local inflammation, which is a risk factor for the development of gallbladder cancer. It is widely known that cholecystitis is closely correlated with gallstones, and that bile obtained from patients with gallbladder cancer contains a large variety of bacteria, such as Salmonella typhi,Helicobacter, and Escherichia coli.It is proposed that the gallbladder may be the result of the joint action of inflammation with the bacterial flora.Similarly, the inflammatory “tumor infiltrating lymphocyte” (TIL)can be observed in the tumor and its surrounding tissues, and may also play a role in tumor growth and metastasis. However, detailed mechanisms about the relationship between inflammation and gallbladder cancer is still not clear. No specific anti-inflammatory drugs for gallbladder cancer have been developed. In the near future, anti inflammatory drugs may play a more important role in gallbladder cancer prevention and treatment.

OBJECTIVETo study the effects of continuous dry-stress and full-water treatments in different periods of spring on the water condition, permeability of plasma membrane and protective enzymes activities in leaves of Ligusticum chuanxiong.
METHODPot cultivation method was applied and physical and biochemical indexes were measured.
RESULTUnder dry-stress treatment the soil relative water content (SRWC) and the relative water content (RWC) in leaves decreased gradually with the days of treatment increased, the content of malondialdephyde (MDA) and permeability of plasma membrane increased significantly. The activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) increased at first and then decreased while the activity of peroxidase (POD) increased. The influence of full-water treatment to all above indexes was the same trend with that of dry-stress treatment approximately but was not significant.
CONCLUSIONIn this experiment, the suitable soil relative water content for growth of Chuanxiong is about 60%.

Objective To evaluate the effect of two polymer membranes, polyhydroxyalkanoates(PHA)and polylactic acid(PLA)during glaucoma filtration surgery(GFS),and to evaluate the morphology of membranous PHA after interlamellar implantation. Methods Twenty-eight New Zealand white rabbits were chosen and twenty-four of them were randomly divided into 6 groups(n=4):the PHA-low group,PHA-high group,PLA-low group,PLA-high group, positive control group(MMC group)and blank control group. The rabbits in each group received GFS. The corresponding polymer membranes were implanted under the scleral flap, while the MMC group was treated with 0.2 mg/mL mitomycin C(MMC) for 3 minutes, and the blank control group was treated without extra drugs. The intraocular pressure(IOP)was examined at 0 d,1 d, 3 d, 7 d, 14 d, 28 d and 84 d after GFS. The corneal layers of four rabbits were implanted with PHA membranes and the corneal morphological changes were observed after 84 d. Results The IOP of the PHA-low and PLA-high groups was lower than that of the blank control group at 84 d after GFS(P < 0.05),and was similar with that of the MMC group(P> 0.05). Morphological studies showed that there were no collagenous fibers filling in the duct, and the collagenous fibers around the membranes were generally arranged in parallel. There were no obvious changes in the peripheral collagen structure after implantation of PHA membranes between the corneal layers. Conclusions Application of PHA and PLA membranes during GFS in rabbits may maintain the level of IOP,and the effect is similar with MMC. The mechanism may be achieved through the mechanical blocking of fibrous tissue.

Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy of early versus delayed open reduction and internal fixation in the treatment of tibial pilon fracture. Methods:Sixty patients with tibial pilon fractures admitted to Zhejiang Veteran Hospital from May 2018 to May 2021 were included in this study. They were randomly divided into a control group and a study group ( n = 30/group) using the coin-tossing method. Patients in the control group underwent early reduction and internal fixation within 3 days after injury. Patients in the study group underwent delayed reduction and internal fixation during 7-14 days after injury. The time to bone fracture healing and the time to independent weight-bearing walking were recorded. At 3 and 6 months after surgery, the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society score, Visual Analogue Scale score, clinical efficacy, and incidence of complications were compared between the two groups. Results:The time to bone fracture healing and the time to independent weight-bearing walking in the study group were (8.23 ± 0.63) weeks and (11.77 ± 0.82) weeks, respectively, which were significantly shorter than (9.57 ± 0.86) weeks and (13.40 ± 0.93) weeks in the control group ( t = 6.87, 7.21, both P < 0.001). At 3 months after surgery, American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society score in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group, and the Visual Analogue Scale score in the study group was significantly lower than that in the control group ( t = 6.69, 5.16, both P < 0.001). Overall excellent and good rate of clinical efficacy in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group (86.6% vs. 63.3%, χ2 = 4.35, P = 0.037). At 6 months after surgery, there were no significant differences in American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society score and Visual Analogue Scale score between the two groups ( t = 0.96, 1.12, P = 0.339, 0.267). At 6 months after surgery, there was no significant difference in the overall excellent and good rate of clinical efficacy between the study and control groups (96.6% vs. 90.0%, χ2 = 0.26, P = 0.605). The incidence of complications in the study group was significantly lower than that in the control group (3.3% vs. 26.6%, χ2 = 4.70, P = 0.030). Conclusion:Delayed open reduction and internal fixation after reducing injury to the soft tissue of the affected limbs can effectively shorten the rehabilitation cycle of tibial pilon fracture, increase short-term efficacy, and decrease the risk of postoperative complications.
