Objective To investigate the possible roles of the different subnuclei of hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus (PNV) which may regulate splenic immune function. Methods 4 SD rats received splenic injection of pseudorabies virus(PRV).96 hours after injection, a block containing hypothalamus was taken and cut into 40 μm sections with cryostat. Immunohistochemical technique and stereology method were used to detect the distributing character of transsynaptic PRV infection neurons in the PVN and the localization relationship between PRV neurons and AVP neurons in the PVN.Results Transsynaptic PRV infection neurons distributed through out the PVN, but mainly concentrated in the lateral parvocellular (LP) subnucleus of PVN and posterior magnocellular (PM) subnuclei of PVN (occupied 73.49% of total surface area),a few distributed in the anterior, dorsal and periventricular parvocellular (AP,DP and PP)nuclei of PVN,few scatted in the rest of nuclei of PVN. In the LP and PM some of the PRV neurons distributed among the AVP neurons. Conclusions Besides the classical neuro-immuno-endocrine modulation, the PVN may regulate the splenic immune function through direct innervation .The AVP neurons in the PM and neurons projecting to the proganglionic neurons in the dorsal medulla and lateral horn of spinal cord in the LP,DP and AP regulate the immune function of spleen through sympathetic and para-sympathetic innovation.

Objective To quantitatively evaluate the image quality, stability and volume precision in kilovoltage cone beam CT (CBCT) on Varian linear accelerator. Methods The Catphan (R) 600 phantom was repeatedly scanned in the full-fan and half-fan CBCT scanning modes. A simulation fan-beam CT (FBCT) was used as a benchmark and results related to the low contrast resolution, spatial resolution, uniformity and image noise were compared with the CBCT using the treatment planning system. The comparison of image quality and long-term stability and volume precision was analyzed. Results Spatial resolution was no differences observed between FBCT and CBCT ( 6 lp/cm: 6 lp/cm , T = 18. 00 , P> 0. 05 ) .Low contrast resolution was, on average, 1. 65% and 1. 74% for both CBCTFull-Fan and CBCTHalf-Fan , and 1. 03% for the FBCT ( T =6. 00, P < 0. 05). Uniformity was, on average, 0. 005 and 0. 033 for both, and 0. 003 for the FBCT ( T=6. 00 , P <0. 05). In terms of image noise, the FBCT images were superior to the CBCT (T=30. 00, P<O. 05). In valid scan range of the CBCT, reconstructed precision was high. There was no significant time trend in the image quality. Conclusions The image quality of kilovoltage CBCT is inferior to the conventional CT. However, tumor and soft tissues are visible in the CBCT images. The image stability and reconstructed precision is satisfying.

Shanghai Journal of Acupuncture and Moxibustion 2016;35(4):452-456
The accurate location of acupoints is the prerequisite for the efficacy of acupuncture-moxibustion. Bone-length measurement, bone-proportional measurement, and proportional unit of the body measurement are commonly used in clinic for acupoints location. Based on the systematic review of the ancient literatures, this article discussed the meaning, evolution and relations of bone-length measurement, bone-proportional measurement, and proportional unit of the body measurement. It’s concluded that the bone-length measurement should be a benchmark in ancient anthropometry and an important basis for acupoints location. Bone proportional measurement, used in different genders, ages and body sizes, was based on the relatively stable proportional relations of various body parts, though some of the standards were adjusted in accordance with the correlation between meridians and acupoints. Location of points by proportional unit of the body simplified the application of bone-length measurement and bone proportional measurement, based on the ratio between short and long bones or the ratio of same body parts in anthropometry. However, proportional unit of the body measurement should be applied for the specific body parts. Bone-length measurement, bone-proportional measurement, and proportional unit of the body measurement are correspondingly the benchmark measurement, relative measurement, and simplified measurement.
