Objective To analyze the expression stability of the three widely used reference genes β-glueuronidase (GUSB), glycera]dehydes-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH), β2-microglobulin (β2-M) in Chinese lung cancer tissue specimens and normal lung tissue specimens. Methods Gene expression wasmeasured by quantitative real time PCR and expression stability was analyzed with two widely used softwares genorm and normfinder. Results The intra-and inter-group difference of GAPDH is maximum (The intra and inter-group s is 1.07 and 0.93 respectively, |△ Ct|=2.01±1.06; P =0.000). The mean of these three genes' Ct value is the most stable one analyzed by the two softwares. But the t test showed that the mean of Ct value of GUSB and β2-M is the unique combination that had the minimum intra-and inter-group difference, with no statistically significant differences between normal and malignant samples (The intra-and inter-group s is 0.53 and 0.79 respective]y, |△Ct|= 0.73±0.53; P =0.053). Conclusion It is inappropriate to normalize data derived from lung tissue specimens using one of these three housekeeping genes alone. Among the different combinations of these three genes, the mean of the Ct values of GUSB and β2-M is the best choice as the internal control of lung tissue specimens.

Object To explore the relationship of 25 (OH) D levels in cord and maternal peripheral blood to understand the maternal and neonatal vitamin D status in Songjiang District of Shanghai. Methods One hundred newborns delivered at the First People’s Hospital afifliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University and 20 pregnant women during November 2010 to January 2011 in Songjiang district were enrolled in the study. The levels of 25 (OH) D in cord and maternal blood were measured by ELISA and compared. Results Mean materna1 serum levels of 25 (OH) D was (23.42±5.23) nmol/L, and cord blood 25 (OH) D was (29.77±12.51) nmol/L. Maternal serum 25 (OH) D was positively correlated with cord blood 25 (OH) D (r=0.84, P<0.001). Conclusions This study shows that the prevalence of vitamin D deifciency in pregnant women is high in Shanghai Songjiang District, which could have adverse effects on newbowns.

Objective To assess the prevalance and distribution of pain in Parkinson' s disease (PD) patients, and to describe the relationship between pain and development of disease and its impact on the quality of life. Methods 113 PD patients were assessed with Visual Analog Scale (VAS), Brief Pain Inventory (BPI), Unified Parkinson' s Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS), Hoehn-Yahr Scale (H-Y), Hamilton Anxiety and Depression Scale (HRSD, HAMA) and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Patients were divided into no pain group, PD-pain group and non-PD-pain group. PD-pain group was divided into PD-pain direct group and PD-pain indirect group. And statistical analysis was performed for each group. Results The incidence of PD-pain was 42. 5% (48/113). And compared with no pain group, PD-pain group had earlier age at onset of disease, longer duration, higher HAMA, HRSD, UPDRS and H-Y score, higher daily L-dopa dose, with statistical significance. Compared with non-PD pain group, the differences in the onset of age (57.4±9.6 vs 65.9±8.7, t= -2.596, P =0.012), HRSD(12. 9±7.9 vs 8.7±3.7, t =2.605, P=0.014) and VAS (61.6±25.9 vs 38.0 ± 30. 1, U = -2.290, P =0.022) were also statistically significant. BPI was different between PD-pain direct group and PD-pain indirect group except normal work and relations with other people. Conclusion Pain is frequent in Parkinsonian population. Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effects,acute and late side-effects of cisplatin plus 5-fluorouracil (PF) schemed chronomodulated chemotherapy combined with concurrent intensitymodulated radiotherapy(IMRT) for nasopharyngeal carcinoma.Methods A total of 48 nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients treated with chronomodulated chemotherapy plus concurrent IMRT were retrospectively studied.The radiation doses prescribed to the gross target volume GTVnx of nasopharyngeal,to the positive neck lymphnodes GTVnd,to the clinical target volume CTV1,and to CTV2 were 73.92-77.88,69.96,60.06-66.00 and 50.96-56.00 Gy respectively.The Kaplan-Meier survival analysis was used to calculate the local-regional progression-free rate.The acute and late side-effects were graded according to RTOG radiation morbidity scoring criteria.Results The complete remission (CR) rate was 41.6％(20/48) ; the partial remission (PR) rate was 47.9％ (23/48) ; the stable disease (SD) rate was 4.2％(2/48) ; and the local tumor control rate was 89.6％.Most of the patients had grade 1 to 2 acute side effects and grade 0 to 1 late side-effects.No grade 4 acute and late toxicity was observed.1,2,4-year survival rates were 93.8％,79.2％ and 64.5％,respectively.The DVH analysis showed that IMRT improved the total dose and dose per-fraction to the target volume with considerable dose reduction of the normal structures at the same time.Conclusions PF chronomodulated chemotherapy plus concurrent intensity-modulated radiotherapy for NPC could improve therapeutic effects with satisfactory tolerance of the side effects.

Objective To study the genes which simultaneously participate in different carcinogenesis progression in lung adenocarcinoma for biomarkers identification. Methods 10 lung adenocarcinoma samples including pathologic stage Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ were chosen for experiment and their matched normal tissues for control. After hybridization on 20 slides of microarray with 13824 genes, we analyze the expression profiles combined with pathologic stage and clinical prognosis by data mining. The genes differentially coexpressed in different stage and different prognosis samples were the target. Results 119 genes were identified. Among these targets, 26 genes have known to be related to lung cancer, 46 genes were unreported and 47 gene were new. Conclusions The 119 genes were very important during cancer occurrence and development and were the candidate biomarkers in lung adenocarcinoma.
