Objective: To study if the immune-enhancing effect of Arg was mediated via liver.Methods: The direct effect of Arg on T cell proliferation was measured by 3H-TdR incorporation. Rat hepatocytes were primarily cultured in serum-free DMEM/F12 medium, and then cultured in medium containing Arg(?mol/L:0,7.5,75,750,7 500), and the supernatant was collected at 0, 24, 48, 72 hours, and added to splenocytes culture, and T cell proliferation, NK cell activity and IL-2 activity,〔Ca 2+〕i were measured respectively.Results: Arg had no direct effect on splenocyte proliferation. The hepatocyte culture supernatant significantly increased the lymphocyte〔Ca 2+〕i ,IL-2 activity and T lymphocyte proliferation; 7 500 ?mol/L was most effective. Conclusion: Arg may enhance immune function via secretion of bioactive molecules by hepatocytes.

Objective To explore the influence of honokiol on growth,cell cycle and radiosensitivity in nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells,CNE-1 and CNE-2.Methods MTT assay and clonogenic assay were used to detect cell growth and survival respectively.Flow cytometry was employed to analyze cell cycle progression.Annexin V-FITC kit was used to detect cell apoptosis.Western blot assay was applied to examine protein expression.Results Honokiol signficantly inhibited proliferation of CNE-1 and CNE-2 cells in a dose and time dependent manner,the IC50 value was 2.84 and 2.68 μmol/L(24 h)and 2.50 and 2.20 μmol/L (48 h),respectively.After being treated with 2.5 μmol/L honokiol for 24 h,the ratios of early apoptosis,late apoptosis and necrosis were 24.53％,23.05％ and 7.13％ in CNE-1 cells compared with the control group(t =-41.17,-8.18,-6.08,P ＜0.05).The expression levels of pro-apoptotic proteins Caspase-3 and Bax were significantly increased to 2.31 and 1.89 times (t =-15.92,-17.15,P ＜ 0.05),4.43 and 1.85 times (t =-29.39,-13.47,P ＜ 0.05).Simultaneously the expression level of anti-apoptotic protein Bcl-2 was reduced by 2.22 and 2.74 times(t =26.94,66.14,P ＜ 0.05) as compared with controls after being treated with 4 and 3 μmol/L honokiol.Additionally,honokiol at lower doses signicantly enhanced the senstivity of CNE-1 and CNE-2 cells to X-ray irradiation.The SER was 1.41 and 1.88 in CNE-1 and CNE-2 cells.3 Gy irradiation of X-rays increased the proportion at G2/M state in both cell lines (t =-14.96,-19.26,P ＜ 0.05).Honokiol reduced the G2/M cell cycle arrest induced by irradiation significantly (t =7.65,4.98,P ＜ 0.05).Simultaneously,cyclin B1 protein expression obviously elevated (t =-33.07,-73.49,P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions Honokiol is a potent inhibitor of nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell growth by inducing cell apoptosis and necrosis and works as a radiosensitizer by disrupting G2/M cell cycle checkpoint.

Objective To investigate and analyze the military operation ability and influence factors of soldiers alongthe border in an extremely cold environment and to provide a scientific basis for effectively improving the combat effective -ness of the army stationed the cold regions.Methods According to relevant standards, recruits(the length of service <1month) and old soldiers(the length of service >1 year) were randomly selected to investigate their military operationfactors, physical condition, sleep condition, mental health and cognitive ability.Results Cold was the main factor whichaffected military operation capability in cold regions.According to physical standards,border troops were in poor physicalcondition.Results of SCL-90 showed that the total score, the number of positive items , the score of each factor of the 130recruits were significantly lower than those of the Chinese army model and 46 veterans (P <0.05).There was nosignificant difference in these aspects between the 46 veterans and Chinese army model.Recruits were in better sleepcondition and had better instantaneous memory(P <0.05).Birthplace had no effect on these factors .Recruits from Centraland South China were in poorer sleep condition than those from cold regions (P <0.05).Results of SCL-90 showed that thetotal score,the factors of somatization, coercion, depression and anxiety of communication veterans were significantly higherthan those of the Chinese army model (P <0.05).The sleep condition of communication veterans was poorer than that ofmotorized infantry and patrol veterans (P <0.05).Conclusion Cold is the main factorthat impacts the ability of militaryoperations in cold regions.The physical work capacity of border guards in cold regions was significantly below the militarystandard, so the level of military training should be strengthened .Research on cold-protection equipment for special tasks should be strengthened.

Objective To analyze risk factors of northwest dryness syndrome (NDS) among the patients of metabolic syndrome in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.Methods Totally 321 cases of metabolic syndrome in Kashgar, Hami and Urumqi were collected to filter 15 variables to calculate OR value and 95% CI, and evaluated by single factor and multi-factor analysis by applying conditional Logistic regression analysis.Results Single factor conditional Logistic regression analysis showed that high fat diet, addiction to hot diet, salty diet, smoking history and hypertension were the risk factors of NDS. The OR values of them were 0.387, 0.071, 0.033, 2.614 and 0.440, respectively (P<0.05). Multi-factor conditional Logistic regression analysis showed that smoking history, alcohol drinking history, high fat diet and hypertension were all entered into regression model. The OR values of them were 3.945, 4.334, 0.370 and 2.142, respectively (P<0.01).Conclusion Patients of metabolic syndrome with a high fat, salty and hot diet are suggested to adjust their diet habit by adding sour food, giving up smoking and drinking, and controlling their blood pressure. It will be helpful for them to adapt local climate and living environment, and reduce the attack rate of NDS.

Objective To explore the efficiency and the clinical application value of non-invasive prenatal genetic testing for fetal chromosomal aneuploidy.Methods A total of 1 865 pregnant women treated in Guangdong Women and Children Hospital from January 201 1 to January 2013 were selected.Inclusion criteria:advanced age,prenatal screening for high risk,and fetal abnormality indicated by color ultrasonography,agreeing with non-invasive prenatal genetic testing.After non-invasive prenatal genetic testing, the pregnant women with positive result underwent cell culture and chromosomal karyotyping.Following the situations after deliv-ery were designed as the final criteria for definite diagnosis of fetal chromosomal aneuploidy.Results A total of 1 865 pregnant women underwent non-invasive prenatal genetic testing,of which 21 pregnant women were found with positive result,including 14 pregnant women with trisomy 21,5 pregnant women with trisomy 18,2 pregnant women with trisomy 13.The results of chromo-somal karyotyping after amniocentesis or umbilical cord blood puncture were designed as golden standard.Among the women with trisomy 21,one woman refused the prenatal diagnosis,self induced labor and could not be confirmed karyotype.No false positive case was found among the women with trisomy 18 and 13.No missed diagnosis was found among the pregnant women with negative result during follow-up after delivery.Through statistical analysis of non-invasive prenatal fetal genetic testing,the sensitivity for the trisomy 21 was 100%,and the accuracy was 92.9%.The sensitivity and accuracy for the trisomy 18 and 13 were 100%.Conclu-sion Non-invasive prenatal genetic testing can improve the diagnostic efficacy before delivery,reduce the birth of ill infants,and it is a quick,safe,easy-accepted and reliable prenatal diagnostic method,which is worthy to be popularized and an inexorable trend of development in the future.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the result of colorectal cancer screening for high-risk groups in Harbin, China from 2012 to 2015.

METHODSAccording to the Project of National Colorectal Cancer Screening in Urban Area, epidemiological investigation and cancer risk evaluation established by National Cancer Center were performed among 40-69 years old residents in Harbin. Questionnaires were issued to assess high-risk groups for clinical screening, including colonoscope examination. The results of colorectal screening were evaluated in detail.

RESULTSProject of Colorectal Cancer Screening in Urban Area was completed successfully from 2012 to 2015 in various districts of Harbin. The accomplishment of high-risk assessment included 3 017 people, while 2 996 people received the clinical screening, including 1 376 males and 1 629 females, from 40 to 69 (53.3±7.1) years old. Among 2 996 people, 1 158 cases of colorectal polyps(38.7%) were screened, including 36.6%(901/2 465) cases of age<60 and 48.4%(257/531) cases of age>60 years old with significant difference (χ=19.19, P<0.01), and 47.6% (651/1 367) cases of male and 31.1%(507/1 629) cases of female with significant difference (χ=85.33, P<0.01). Of 1 158 polyps patients, 141 received the pathological examination and 11 patients were diagnosed as colorectal cancer, accounting for 0.4% of overall screening people (11/2 996). All these 11 patients underwent operation by advice and the postoperative pathology results all indicated early adenocarcinoma. Furthermore, among 141 polyps patients, 97 cases of tubular adenoma were found, which were distributed as follows: 2 cases of cecum (2.1%), 14 cases of ascending colon(14.4%), 12 cases of transverse colon (12.4%), 15 cases of descending colon (15.5%), 35 cases of sigmoid colon (36.1%) and 19 cases of rectum(19.6%).

CONCLUSIONWith the increase in age, the risk of colorectal polyps is significantly elevated. The males have higher incidence of colorectal polyps than the females. Adenoma mainly locates in the distal colon and rectum, especially in the sigmoid colon. Early screening for high-risk group can find out colorectal precancerosis and cancer, so the patients can receive early treatment.

In order to understand the dental caries status of preschool children in Qingdao, a total of 1 690 children aged 3-6 years were screened from 13 kindergartens in two districts of Qingdao. The oral health examination was conducted according to the WHO standard, including the decayed?missing?filled index and pigmentation status. The prevalence of caries, the mean decayed,missing and filled tooth (dmft) and the mean dmfs were calculated. The results showed that the prevalence of deciduous teeth caries of children was 65.3% (n=1 103) with the mean dmft and dmfs about 3.2 and 5.4. There was a statistically significant difference in the prevalence of deciduous teeth caries among different age groups (P<0.001). There was a statistically significant difference between the prevalence of deciduous teeth caries with and without pigmentation (P<0.001). The prevalence of caries in preschool children in Qingdao is high and more attention should be paid to their dental caries.

Objective:To explore the effect of observation, teaching and discussion (OTD) teaching in the training of junior nurses in Ophthalmology Department.Methods:From January 2018 to January 2020, convenience sampling was used to select 102 junior nurses in the Ophthalmology Department of Beijing Tongren Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University as the research subject. The 49 nurses who received traditional teaching training from January 2018 to January 2019 were selected as the control group, and the 53 nurses who received OTD teaching training from February 2019 to January 2020 were selected as the observation group. The self-directed learning ability and critical thinking ability of the two groups of nurses were compared.Results:The total score and each dimension of the Chinese version of the Self-Rating Scale of Self-Directed Learning for nurses in the observation group, and the total score and each dimension score of the Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory-Chinese Version were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:OTD teaching can improve the self-directed learning ability and critical thinking ability of junior nurses in Ophthalmology Department, which is worthy of popularization and application.
