Objective To investigate the regularity of chronopharmacology of bruceolic oil emulsion ( BOE) in treating H22 tumor-bearing mice. Methods The KM mice model bearing H22 hepatocellular carcinoma was established. And then the model mice were divided into groups according to the condition of illumination and medicine intervention. After treatment for 10 days, the tumor-growth inhibitory rate, viscera indexes, and hepatic and renal function indexes were observed. Results Tumor mass and ratio of tumor mass to body mass were decreased in medication groups under the normal and disordered illumination. The tumor mass and ratio in mice treated with BOE before dark phase of normal illumination and disordered illumination, and during the dark phase of disordered illumination differed from those of the model group at the corresponding illumination phase (P<0.05) . Under normal illumination, BOE-treated mice at 10 pm of dark phase had lower liver index but higher thymus index than the model group (P < 0.05) . Under disordered illumination, BOE-treated mice at 7 am of dark phase had higher spleen index than the model group ( P < 0.05) . Conclusion BOE exerts certain inhibition of H22 hepatocellular carcinoma under both normal illumination and disordered illumination, and the effect will be better when medication is given in dark phase period.

Objective:To observe the effect of acupuncture on gastric motility, plasma motilin and serum gastrin in patients with diabetic gastroparesis (DGP) and evaluate its clinical efficacy.
Methods:A total of 100 eligible cases were randomly allocated into an acupuncture group (n=50) and a control group (n=50). Patients in the acupuncture group were treated by needling Zhongwan (CV 12), Zusanli (ST 36) and Neiguan (PC 6), whereas patients in the control group were treated with oral administration of Domperidone. The clinical efficacies of the two groups were compared; and changes in gastric motility, plasma motilin and serum gastrin in both groups were observed before and after treatment.
Results:After treatment, the symptom scores, gastric motility and contents of plasma motilin and serum gastrin were significantly improved in both groups (P<0.05). There were between-group statistically significant differences in symptom scores, gastric motility and levels of plasma motilin and serum gastrin after treatment (allP<0.05). The total effective rate was 96% in the treatment group, versus 78% in the control group, showing a statistically significant difference (P<0.05).
Conclusion:Acupuncture is effective for DGP and can reduce the levels of plasma motilin and serum gastrin.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the inhibitory effects mechanism of scallop skirt glycosaminoglycan(SS-GAG)on inju-ry in human umbilical vein endothelium cells (HUVEC). METHODS:In the test, there was a negative control group,a model group and the groups of SS-GAG at high, middle and low concentrations(mass concentrations of 200,100 and 50 mg/L respective-ly). The cells in latter 3 groups were cultured in SS-GAG at different mass concentrations for 12 h,and then in 50 μmol/L oxidized low-density lipoprotein(OX-LDL)for 24 h. MTT method was used to detect cell viability and the activity of lactic dehydrogenase (LDH),the flow cytometer to determine the level of reactive oxygen species (ROS),real-time fluorescence quantitative poly-merase chain reaction (RT-PCR) to detect mRNA expression of lectin-like oxidized low-density lipoprotein receptor 1 (LOX-1), and Western blot to detect NOX4 protein expression. RESULTS:Compared to the cells in the negative control group, those in the model group demonstrated lower viability, higher activity of LDH,higher level of ROS,and stronger expressions of LOX-1 mRNA and NOX4 protein. There was statistical significance (P<0.01). Compared to the cells in the model group, those in the groups of SS-GAG at high, middle and low concentrations showed higher viability, lower activity of LDH,lower level of ROS and weaker expressions of LOX-1 mRNA and NOX4 protein. There was statistical significance (P<0.01). CONCLUSIONS:SS-GAG can protect HUVEC to some degree by a mechanism which may be related to inhibiting ROS production via LOX-1/NOX4 pathway and relieving oxidative stress injury.

OBJECTIVETo compare the effects of oblique insertion at anatomical points and conventional acupuncture for sacroiliac joint injury.
METHODSEighty patients were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, 40 cases in each one. In the observation group, oblique insertion therapy at anatomical points was used, and the 9 points of equal division (anatomical points) marked by palpating the anatomical symbol were treated as the insertion acupoints. In the control group, conventional acupuncture was applied, and perpendicular insertion was adopted at Huantiao (GB 30), Zhibian (BL 54) and Weizhong (BL 40), etc. In the two groups, the! treatment was given once a day and 5 times per week. Ten treatments were made into one course and two courses were required. The clinical effects, the changes of visual analogue scale (VAS) and Oswestry dysfunctional index. (ODI) before and after treatment were observed in the two groups.
RESULTSThe total effective rate of the observation group was 90.0% (36/40), which was better than 72.5% (29/40) of the control group (P < 0.05). After treatment, the results of the VAS and ODI of the two groups were apparently declined (both P < 0.01), and those in the observation group were decreased more obviously (both P < 0.01).
CONCLUSIONThe effect of oblique inser-tion at anatomical points for sacroiliac joint injury is superior to that of conventional acupuncture, which can effectively relieve pain and improve the disfunction.

Objective To investigate the microRNAs expression profile in human colorectal cancer with or without liver metastasis and try to screen miRNA associated with liver metastasis in colorectal cancer. Methods Twenty five surgical resected colorectal cancer specimens were collected and frozen in liquid nitrogen. Three without liver metastasis and three with liver metastasis were selected, from which total RNAs were isolated. The expressions of miRNAs in these two types of specimens were detected by illumine microRNA microarray, and the difference of miRNA expression was screened. The biochip results were verified with real-time RT-PCR in all colorectal caner specimens. Results The miRNA expression was significantly different in colorectal cancer with liver metastasis and without liver metastasis. Compared with colorectal cancer without liver metastasis, 28 miRNA expressions was different in colorectal cancer with liver metastasis, 4 up regulated and 24 down regulated. The quantity of miR-139-3p expression in colorectal cancer with liver metastasis was 1.75±0.40, up regulated compared with that incolorectal cancer without liver metastasis(0. 69 ±0.58,P<0.05). The quantity of miR-19a expression in liver metastasis was 0. 39±0. 20, downregulated compare with no liver metastasis( 1.38 ± 0.98, P<0. 05). The result of miRNA biochip was consistent with that of RT-PCR. Conclusion The difference of miRNA expression might relate to liver metastasis of colorectal cancer. The specific miRNAs expression profile might provide new target for diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer with liver metastasis.
