OBJECTIVETo investigate the long-time effects of nylon fixation at the internal and external canthus combined with skin graft for recurrent lower eyelids ectropion.

METHODSUnder local anesthesia, the cicatricial contraction was released to repostion the lower eyelid. Then nylon thread was implanted in the fascial tissue at the upper margin of tarsus and was fixed on the periosteum at the internal and external canthus. The skin graft was applied on the wound of lower eyelids.

RESULTS12 patients with lower eyelids ectropion at 19 sides were treated with primary healing. The patients were followed up for 6-24 months. All cases were satisfied with functional and cosmetic results. No complication and no recurrence happened.

CONCLUSIONSThe technique of nylon fixation at the internal and external canthus combined with skin graft is an effective method for recurrent lower eyelids ectropion.

After analyzing the clinical data of 5 injured persons diagnosed with delayed spleen or liver rupture combined with fractures after the Wenchuan earthquake, we found that the abdominal injuries in earthquake were rare but usually very severe. Since almost all the injured persons had multiple injuries, mortality was extremely high. First aid service should be applied in the first 6 to 8 hours. Orderly physical examination and peritoneocentesis in multiple sites are in favor of diagnosis. Reducing the missed diagnosis rate of abdominal injuries is important in raising the rate of successful treatment. Therapy for earthquake injuries should be focused on the most deadly injuries after a thorough examination, besides this, precise employment of control surgery, swift transportation of the injured persons, and prevention and dealing with complications are also important.

NF-κB a factor possessing multiple transcription functions, has been demonstrated to have relation with the imbalance between cell proliferation and apoptosis in stomach, intestines, liver and other tissues of digestive tract. The active NF-κB signal transduction is extensively involved in the precancerous lesion,rumor development and invasion and metastasis. The therapies aimed at the activation of NF-κB can promote apoptosis of tumor cells, reduce the resistance against chemo-radiotherapy and relieve the cachexia caused by tumor.

Objective:To examine the applicability of Generalized Pathological Internet Use Scale(GPIUS) in college students of China.Methods:A sample of 667 college students completed translated Chinese version of GPIUS and Chinese version of Young Scale for IAD.Reliability and validity of GPIUS-CR were analyzed.Results:①The retest reliability,split-half and Cronbach’s ? reliability coefficients of total scale were 0.73,0.87 and 0.91 respectively.②Scores of total scale and each subscale were significantly correlated with scores of Young Scale at 0.01 levels.③Six factors were extracted by exploratory factor analysis and explained 60.19% of variance.④CFA confirmed that standard measurement model fit data well:?2=1021.9,NNFI=0.94,NFI=0.92,CFI= O.94,RMSEA=0.080.Conclusion:Reliability and validity of GPIUS-CR is corresponded with psychometric standard,and it could be used as an effective instrument in diagnosis of generalized internet addition disorder.

ObjectiveTo summarize long-term effects of different op eration methods to cure congenital blepharophimosis syndrome in the past twenty years. MethodsIn the past twenty years, according to the clini cal features of 74 cases of congenital blepharophimosis syndrome,we adopted one -stage or two-stage technique to do the medial and lateral canthoplasty and/or to correct blepharoptosis. 24 patients accepted post-operative follow-up as l ong as 9 years. ResultsGenerally, Mustrarde technique was adop ted to correct inverse epicanthus for 54 cases, but for 20 patients with mild ep icanthus we adopted other methods. When enlarging the medial canthus, we selecti vely shortened the medial canthal ligament for 36 patients. When transverse tens ion on the upper eyelids was not increased, 33 cases selected one-stage techniq ue to correct this syndrome and obtained the same effects as two-stage techniqu e did for the other 41 cases. Other combined deformations of the patients should be treated in adolescence according to the patients' requirements. ConclusionBy adopting one-stage or two-stage technique to perform the medial and lateral canthoplasty and/or to correct blepharophimosis for con genital blepharophimosis syndrome can reach the satisfactory results if a correc t indication is selected.

Objective To find a procedure for facial rejuvenation w hi ch is simple, safe with lasting aesthetic results and to make it popularized eas ily. Method We performed complete face lifting first by extens ive subcutaneous detatchment. Secondly we plicated the superficial musclo-apon eurofic system (SMAS), including the superficial temporal fascia and the SMAS su perior to the parotid fascia, 1 cm anterior to the incision line by No.1 silk su tures. The distance of plication was about 1-2 cm. Interval of suture was 1 cm. After dissection under the platysma for 1-2 cm, we pulled the posterior edge of platysma postlaterally, and sutured it to the sternocleiodomasoid fascia. The n we suspended the obiculoris oculi and the SMAS lateral to the nasoalar and com issura oris by 4-0 absorbable surtures. If necessary, we plicated the platysma near the anterior border of the detachment. Results We performe d rhytidectomy on 48 patients by extesive subcutaneous detachment and multiple S MAS suspension in the past two years. The results were satisfactory after 3-16 months follow -up. There were no serious complications (including injury of fa cial nerve and skin necrosis and severe bleeding which needed another operation to clean up the hematoma). The aesthetic results were lasting. Complications in cluded temporal hair loss in 3 cases, in which one patient accepted hair transpl antation, and in another two patients alopecia zone were incised and sutured pri marily. Two cases had scar hyperplasia behind the ear, who required revision. Tw o cases had temporary asymmetry which were given no treatment and recovered 3 mo nths after operation. Conclusion This procedure overcomes the s hortcoming caused by simple subcutaneous rhytidectomy, in which improvement is t emporary. The SMAS is well perserved to avoid the facial nerve injury, the most severe complication of rhytidectomy. Therefore, rhytidectomy by extensive subcu taneous detachment and multiple SMAS suspension is a simple and safe procedure w ith lasting aesthetic results.

Objective To explore the effective therapies of no n-small cell lung cancer(NSC LC) of advanced stage.Method.Two hundred twenty nine patient s with NSCLC at advanced stage were treated by thr ee methods including comprehensive therapy,chemotherapy and radiotherapy.Cur ativ e effects of various therapy methods were analyzed.Result The to tal effective rates o f the patients who received comprehensive therapy were obviously higher than che motherapy and radiotherapy alone groups,they were 68.96%,49.17%,50.00%(P ＜0.01) respectively.Conclusion The preference method was c omprehensive therapy.A clos e relationship was found among the total efficacy and pathological classificat ion and clinical staging.

Objective To explore the clinical technique and curative effect of tissue expansion in repairing soft tissue defects of eyelid.Methods Repair of eyelid defects with tissue expansion was performed in 21 patients(21 eyes)from Apr.2004 to Apr.2009,in whom there were 9 males and 12 females,aged 6-48 years(mean 29),in a course of 6 months to 23 years.Twelve defects were in upper eyelid and 9 in lower eyelid.The areas of eyelid scars ranged from 5mm?20mm to 30mm?50mm,and 10 patients were with ectropion of eyelid due to cicatrical contraction.Tissue expanders sized 30-100ml were implanted beneath the normal skin adjacent to lesions of eyelids,and normal saline solution was periodically injected for 3 to 4 months to slowly expand the overlying skin.Then the expanders were removed,and different sizes of adjacent expanded skin flaps were used with rotation to repair the eyelid defects and restore normal position of palpebral margins.Results Satisfactory wound healing was obtained in all the 21 patients with no complication.Sixteen patients were followed-up for 1 to 16 months(mean 10 months),in them the expanded flap survived nicely with acceptable cosmetic result,and the postoperative scar was not conspicuous.No recurrence of ectropion occurred except one with mild ectropion due to termination of expanding treatment by the patient.Conclusion Tissue expansion technique is a reconstructive option for eyelid defects.
