The fasting and 2 h levels of glucagon, somatostatin ( SS), and C-peptide during 75 g oral glucose tolerance test in 60 patients with type 2 diabetes and 34 normal subjects were determined. Compared with control group, the fasting levels of glucagon and SS and 2 h levels of SS after glucose loading significantly decreased, while the fasting and 2 h levels of C-peptide increased in diabetes group. The 2 h levels of these hormones were significantly higher than the fasting levels in two groups. Compared with control group, the increased folds of glucagon ( 1.40±0.48 vs 1.20±0. 30, P<0. 05 ) and SS( 2.79±2. 17 vs 1.14±0. 22, P<0. 01 ) levels after glucose loading were higher and that of C-peptide level ( 3.58 ±3. 10 vs 8. 33 ± 6. 99, P<0. 01 ) was lower in diabetes group. The levels of fasting glucagon were positively correlated with that of fasting SS in two groups( both P<0. 01 ). These results suggest that disturbance exists in hormones from α and δ cells besides the dysfunction of β cells in patients with type 2 diabetes.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the pathogenesis of globozoospermia, fertilization ability of round-headed sperm, and the application value of assisted oocyte activation in intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) for the wives of glohozoospermia men.
METHODSWe collected oocytes from the wives of 2 globozoospermia patients and randomly divided them into two groups after ICSI to receive calcium ionophore A23187-activation and conventional treatment, respectively. We reviewed the relevant literature published at home and abroad, and discussed the etiology of globozoospermia, fertilization ability of round-headed sperm, and treatment options for this disease.
RESULTSQuality embryos were obtained in the A23187-activation group while no fertilized oocytes, oocyte cleavage, quality embryos, or blastular formation were found in the conventional treatment group. Both women achieved pregnancy and gave birth to healthy neonates after transfer of the quality embryos from the A23187-activation group.
CONCLUSIONCalcium ionophore A23187 can be applied to ICSI for the wives of globozoospermia men and bring about desirable clinical outcomes. Meanwhile, attention should be paid to its safety.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2022;43(5):768-771
Objective:
To analyze household determinants of adolescents non suicidal self injury(NSSI), and to provide scientific basis for NSSI intervention amogn adolescents.
Methods:
Using stratified random cluster sampling method, 15 623 middle school students aged 11-20 were selected from Heilongjiang, Anhui, Hubei, Yunnan, and Guangdong provinces, and non suicidal self injury and related household determinants were investigated by questionnaire.
Results:
The survey showed that 28.8% of people who had NSSI in the past year accounted;among them,17.6% had 1-4 times(occasional self injury) and 11.2% had 5 times or more(repeated self injury) univariate results showed that whether they were an only child, family type, educational level of the main caregiver, family rearing style, family monthly income per capita, and whether there was a family history of mental illness was associated with adolescents NSSI ( χ 2=6.30-12.16, P <0.05); multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that whether one child or family parenting style is still significantly related to occasional NSSI( OR =1.11,1.34, P <0.05)after controlling for gender, age, grade, ethnicity, emotional control, resilience, loneliness and social support; whether it is an only child, educational level of the main caregiver and family parenting style are still significantly related to repeated NSSI ( OR =1.19,0.69,1.57, P <0.05); stratified analysis by region shows that the influencing factors of NSSI in adolescents in each region are different.
Conclusion
Family factors such as the only child and the education level of the main caregiver may be related to the occurrence of adolescents NSSI, but there are regional differences in the family impact of NSSI.

Objective To investigate the role of microRNAs (miRs) in the proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs)induced by endothelial insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) under low shear stress (LowSS). Methods Endothelial cells (ECs) and VSMCs were co-cultured and exposed to normal shear stress (NSS, 1.5 Pa) and LowSS (0.5 Pa) for 12 h with parallel plate flow chamber system, respectively. Real-time PCR was used to examine the expression levels of miRs. The target genes of miR-133b were predicted by multiple algorithms. The expression of polypyrimidine tract binding protein 1 (Ptbp1) and N-myc downstream regulated 1 (Ndrg1) in VSMCs was detected by Western blotting. The VSMC proliferation was detected by EdU flow cytometry assay. Results After treated with recombinant IGF-1, the expression of both miR-133b and miR-378a in VSMCs was increased. Compared with NSS, LowSS significantly induced the expression of miR-133b in the co-cultured VSMCs, but had no obvious effect on miR-378a. In VSMCs, the protein and mRNA levels of Ptbp1 and Ndrg1 were down-regulated by miR-133b mimics. miR-133b inhibitor up-regulated the mRNA levels of Ptbp1 and Ndrg1. miR-133b overexpression promoted the proliferation of VSMCs significantly. Conclusions IGF-1 secreted by ECs in response to LowSS can upregulate the expression of miR-133b in the co-cultured VSMCs, which subsequently depresses the expression of Ptbp1 and Ndrg1, and induces the proliferation of VSMCs eventually. The research findings provide a potential new target for cardiovascular disease therapy.
