1.Therapeutic Observation of Application at Shenque (CV8) for Primary Dysmenorrhea Due to Blood Stagnation

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of application at Shenque (CV8) in treating primary dysmenorrhea due to blood stagnation.Method Sixty patients with primary dysmenorrhea due to blood stagnation were enrolled and randomized into a treatment group and a control group to receive the corresponding intervention, started 3 d prior to menstruation. The treatment group was intervened by application at Shenque with Chinese herbal medicinewhile the control group was by orally taking Ibuprofen sustained release capsules, successively for 3 menstrual cycles. The pre-treatment, short-term and follow-up dysmenorrhea scores and traditional Chinese medicine symptom and sign scores for blood stagnation were recorded, and the clinical efficacies of the two groups were observed.Result The short-term total effective rate was 93.3% in the treatment group, slightly lower than 96.7% in the control group, while the long-term therapeutic efficacy in the treatment group (93.3%) was obviously higher than that in the control group (50.0%). The changes in the symptom and sign scores for blood stagnation in the treatment group were more significantthan those in the control group, especially in the scores of menstruation amount, blocked menstrual flow, color of menstrual blood and blood clots (P<0.01). No adverse events occurred during the whole study. Conclusion Application at Shenque can effectively release menstrual pain and improve the symptoms of dysmenorrhea due to blood stagnation.
2.Effects of Hesperidin on RAW264.7 Foam Cell Formation And Expression of ICAM-1

This study was aimed to investigate the effects of hesperidin on the macrophage foam cell formation in RAW264.7 cells and the expression of ICAM-1.RAW264.7 cells were culture in vitro and induced by oxLDL (50 μg· mL-1).Furthermore,cells were separated into the control group,oxLDL model group and hesperidin treatment group.The effect of hesperidin on cell viability in RAW264.7 was assessed by MTF assay.Oil Red O staining was examined by foam cells formation.Effect of hesperidin on protein expression of ICAM-1 was analyzed by western blot.In addition,the effect of hesperidin on mRNA expression of ICAM-1 was assessed by RT-PCR.The results showed that the viability should been over 80% after less than or equal to 5 μM hesperidin treatment.Hesperidin decreased the protein expression of ICAM-1 in RAW264.7 cells.Additionally,hesperidin suppressed the mRNA expression of ICAM-1 in RAW264.7 cells.It was concluded that hesperidin can inhibit foam cell formation and the expression of ICAM-1 in RAW264.7 cells.It suggested that hesperidin protect against atherosclerosis.
3.A control study of ultrasound and histology of normal rectal walls

Objective To investigate the ultrasonographic features of normal rectal walls.Methods Ten removed rectal specimens were scanned with high frequency (4-13 MHz) linear array probe to obtain ultrasound images of various layers and having each layer marked,and separated,followed by histological examination respectively.Results Ultrasound demonstrated seven layers of structure which were identified by alternative high and low echoes.From innermost layer towards the outer layers,they were divided as:high-echo acoustic interface,low-echo mucous layer,high-echo sub-mucous layer,low-echo circular muscle layer,high-echo fibrous connective tissue layer,low-echo outer longitudinal muscle layer and high-echo outer membrane layer.All these findings were justified by histological examination.Conclusions High-frequency ultrasound demonstrated 7 layers of echoes in normal rectal walls.This provides imaging basis for diagnosis and judge the invasion degree of rectal cancers.
4.Effects of sevoflurane preconditioning on LPS-induced acute lung Injury in rats

Objective To investigate the effects of sevoflurane preconditioning (SP) on acute lung injury induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in rats.Methods Twenty-four male SD rats weighing 220-250 g were randomly divided into 4 groups (n = 6 each): group Ⅰ control (group C),group Ⅱ LPS,group Ⅲ sevoflurane (group Sev) and group Ⅳ SP + LPS.In group Ⅰ and Ⅱ ,normal saline and LPS 5 mg/kg were given Ⅳ 30 min after ventilation respectively.In group Ⅲ and Ⅳ,the animals inhaled sevoflurane (end-tidal concentration 2.4% ) for 30 min followed by 5 min wash-out,and then received iv injection of normal saline and LPS 5 mg/kg respectively.The animals were killed at 6 h after LPS or normal saline administration.Lungs were removed for determination of W/D lung weight ratio,myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity,cytokine-induced neutrophil chemoattractant-1 (CINC-1) content and expression of CINC-1 and CINC-1 mRNA.The severity of lung injury was evaluated using diffuse alveolar damage (DAD) score.Results Compared with group Ⅰ ,W/D lung weight ratio,DAD score,MPO activity and CINC-1 content were significantly increased,and expression of CINC-1 and CINC-1 mRNA up-regulated in group Ⅱ and Ⅲ,while there was no significant difference in the above indices between group Ⅲ and group Ⅰ .Compared with group Ⅱ ,W/D lung weight ratio,DAD score,MPO activity and CINC-1 content were significantly decreased,and expression of CINC-1 and CINC-1 mRNA down-regulated in group Ⅲ.Conclusion Sevoflurane preconditioning can protect the lungs against LPS-induced acute lung injury by inhibiting inflaunnatory response.
5.Anatomic Assessment of Right Inferior Phrenic Artery with Multi-detector Row CT

Objective To estimate the anatomic variation of the right inferior phrenic artery(RIPA)with multi-detector tomography(MDCT)scans.Methods 45 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)and 46 healthy subjects were examined by contrast-enhanced CT scan(CTA)at 16-section CT scanner.Then the images were reconstructed with MPR,VR and MIP.Results RIPA were detected by CTA in all cases(sensitivity was 100%).The origin of RIPAs directly from the aorta in 42%,celiac trunk in 37%,right renal artery in 15%,left gastric artery in 3% and proper hepatic artery in 2%.For the reconstructive images quality,MPR and MIP were better than VR,but in showing the origin of RIPAs,MPR and VR were better than MIP.In compared with normal group,the diameters of RIPAs in tumor group were larger.Conclusion MDCT estimates well for the anatomy of RIPAs,which is significant for planning and embolization of extrahepatic RIPA supply in HCC.
6.A Novel Biocatalyst and Its Optimized Process for Preparing L-theanine

L-theanine (γ-glutamylethylamide) is the main free amino acid component of tea and its favorable physiological effects on mammals have been reported. An enzymatic method for optically pure L-theanine production with a new L-aminoacylases-production fungi Cunnighamella echinulata 9980 was developed. The optimum conditions for enzymatic catalysis were at pH 6.5 with 50 mmol/L N-Acyl-DLtheanine and 40 mmol/L CoCl2. After 12-h incubation at 50℃,22.5 mmol/L L-theanine was obtained, the conversion rate against N-Acyl-L-theanine being 90%. Cunnighamella echinulata and the aminoacylase were applied in preparation of L-theanine.
7.Information aggregation model for case-oriented analysis

A data link-based information aggregation model was established by analyzing the dimensions, approaches, model and its application scope of case specific information aggregation according to the link between information characteristics and the link between information use processes followed by a substantial evidence analysis of information aggregation with Middle East Respiratory Syndrome as an example, which showed that the model can be used in case analysis of health field.
8.Chinese herbal medicine for treatment of dislipidemia

Prevalence of dislipidemia is increasing rapidly in China and there has been a growing interest in Chinese herbal medicine for the treatment of hyperlipidemia both inside and outside China. In this article, lipids regulating effects of 9 herbs or their extracts and 5 herbal formulae which have been published in English-language literature are reviewed. Although evidence from animals and humans consistently supports the therapeutic activities of these Chinese herbal medicines, few multi-center large-scale clinical trials have been conducted to confirm the efficacy and evaluate their safety.
9.Correlation of Intratumoral Susceptibility Signal Intensity and Apparent Diffusion Coefifcient with Pathological Grading of Brain Glioma

Purpose To analyze the relevance between magnetic susceptibility weighted imaging intratumoral susceptibility signal intensity (ITSS) and diffusion weighted imaging apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) with different grade gliomas, and to explore the value of ITSS and ADC in the preoperative grading of gliomas. Materials and Methods Fifty-two cases of glioma patients underwent magnetic susceptibility weighted imaging and diffusion weighted imaging scans, all subjects were divided into low-grade glioma group (18 cases) and high-grade glioma group (34 cases) according to brain tumor grading standard, correlation between ITSS grade and ADC values with tumor grade was analyzed, and ROC curve was used to evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of ITSS and ADC values in the grading of brain glioma. Results Difference of ITSS grading was statistically significant (χ2=27.458, P<0.01) among different grade gliomas;difference of ADC values between different grade gliomas was also statistically significant (U=689.000, P<0.01); there was a significant positive correlation (r=0.727, P<0.001) between ITSS grading and pathological grading, ADC values were significantly negatively correlated (r=-0.622, P<0.001) with tumor grading, and ITSS grading was significantly negatively correlated (r=-0.617, P<0.001) with ADC values among different grade brain gliomas. With pathological grading as reference standard, the diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of ITSS for preoperative glioma grading was 85.29%, 77.78%, 82.69%, 87.88%and 73.68%, respectively, while the diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of ADC values for preoperative glioma grading was 97.06%, 88.89%, 94.23%, 94.29%and 94.12%, respectively. Conclusion There is a significant correlation between ITSS grading, ADC values and pathological grading of gliomas, the combination use of ITSS and ADC values can significantly improve the preoperative grading accuracy of brain glioma.
10.Protection of heme oxygenase-1 against hepatic ischemia reperfusion injury in cirrhotic rats

Objective To study the proctective effect of heme oxygeanse-1(HO-1) on cirrhotic rats after hepatic ischemia reperfusion injury.Methods All the rats were randomly divided into 5 groups as follows: normal group(N),liver cirrhosis group(LC),sham operation group(S), ischemia reperfusion group(I/R),and I/R+hemin group.Except for N group,the other groups were injected with 40% CCl4 twice a week.After 11 weeks,the model of liver cirrhosis was formed.The segmental(70%) hepatic ischemia reperfusion operation was carried out one week later.The animals were sacrificed 6h after reperfusion.Blood was collected to measure the liver function,antioxidative ability,NF-?B and caspase-3,and HO-1 expressions were studied by immunohistochemistry method. Results Administration of hemin to induce high HO-1 expression could lessen hepatic injury,increase MnSOD enzyme level,and decrease caspase-3 and NF-?B expresssion.Conclusion HO-1 plays an important role in protecting liver cirrhosis against ischemia reperfusion injury by increasing MnSOD enzyme level and decreasing expression of caspase-3 and NF-?B.
