Purpose:To investigate the effects on non small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) and untoward reactions in elderly patients using vinorelbine(NVB) and oxaliplatin. Methods:NVB 25mg/m 2 ivgtt on day 1 and 8,oxalipatin 85mg/m 2 ivgtt on day 1 and 8, at 21 days per cycle. And every case should receive at least 2 cycles. Results:Among 34 patients,complete response(CR):2.9%,partial response(PR):35.3%,stable disease(SD):44.1%,progressive disease(PD):17.6%.Total response rate(RR) is 38.2%. The side effects were myelosuppression and peripheral sensory nueropathy. Conclusions:NVB combined with oxaliplatin treating NSCLC in elderly people has some effect,and the toxixity can be well tolerated.

Objective To investigate the expression changes of hepatic gelsolin (GSN) and the potential effect of traditional Chinese medicine Xuebijing injection in septic rats. Methods A total of 104 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into four groups, ie, normal control group (n = 8), sham operation group (n = 32), cecal ligation and puncture group (CLP group, n = 32) and Xuebijing treatment group (n = 32). The sepsis animal models in the last two groups were developed by CLP. In Xuebijing treatment group, animals were treated intravenously with Xuebijing injection (4 ml/kg) at 2, 12, 24,36, 48 and 60 hours after operation, respectively. Animals were sacrificed respectively at 6, 12, 24, and 72 hours after operation to harvest blood and hepatic tissue samples. Markers of liver function, contents of GSN and Gc globulin and expression of GSN mRNA in the liver tissues were detected. Results Compared with normal control group and sham operation group, hepatic GSN content was decreased significantly at various intervals in CLP group (P ＜ 0. 05), which reached the lowest value of (1.42 ±0.50) ng/mg at 12 hours. Meanwhile, expression of GSN mRNA in the liver was markedly enhanced at six hours after CLP and remained a high value until 72 hours, compared with the sham operation group (1.203±0.053 vs 1.030 ±0.084, P ＜0.05). Similarly, the hepatic Gc globulin contents was increased in the CLP group compared with the normal control group and sham operation group (P ＜ 0.05).After treatment with Xuebijing injection, the hepatic GSN contents at 6-72 hours was increased gradually while serum ALT and AST levels at 6, 12 and 24 hours were reduced significantly in comparison to the CLP group (P ＜ 0.05). Nevertheless, treatment with Xuebijing injection showed no marked effect on hepatic GSN mRNA expression and Gc globulin release (P ＞ 0.05). Conclusions Hepatic GSN contents are persistently reduced in the development of sepsis and treatment with Xuebijing injection can markedly attenuate acute liver injury through increasing GSN contents in severe sepsis.

Based on the theory of organizational performance appraisal and the needs of developing China's hospital performance assessment system, the paper proposed the concept and emphasized the significance of establishing a comparative hospital performance assessment system in China. By sharing identical experiences from overseas, the paper also advocates that as China is building its comparative hospital performance assessment framework, it is imperative to verify the comparability of hospital performance assessment indicators, build a quality-centered comparative model for hospital performance assessment, and a three-tier comparative model to cover hospitals, departments and posts. These efforts will further improve China's performance assessment system.

Objective To construct a recombinant lentiviral expression vector for RNA interference (RNAi) of human Snail gene and to study its effects on the proliferation and invasion of nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell line 5-8F. Methods The effective sequence of short hairpin RNAs (shRNA) targeting Snail gene was designed and cloned into the linear pLVTHM vector after enzyme digestion. After confirmation by DNA sequencing, 5-8F cells were infected with the viral supernatants. The cells with stable Snail gene knock-down were separated by fluorescence activated cell sorter (FASC). The expression of Snail mRNA was detected by real time RT-PCR. MTT and cell invasion assay were used to detect the proliferation and invasion of 5-8F cells after plVTHM-siSnail transfection. Results The lentivirus vector plVTHM-siSnail was constructed successfully. The separated 5-8F-plVTHM-siSnail exhibited significant knock-down of Snail mRNA expression. Objective To explore the mechanism of the low-frequency electrical stimulate on pedunculopontine nu-cleus to treat the Parkinson (PD) through observinge the low-frequency electrical stimulation of Pedunculopontine Nucleus (PPN) in PD rat model and the effects of neurotransmitters (GPi) neurons discharge in the medial part of the globus pallidus. Methods Thirty SD rats were randomly assigned to the control group and the PD model group, with 15 in each group. PD model was established through injecting 6-OHDA into Substantia nigra compact (SNc) of black rat. Effect of low frequency electrical stimulation, micro-electrophoresis glutamate (Glu) and its receptor blocking breaking agent MK-801,γ-aminobu-tyric acid (GABA) and its receptor antagonist bicuculline (BIC) on discharge of rat neuron GPi was examined using extracel-lular unit recording methods through seven glass microelectrode recording. Results When stimulated by low frequency electrical stimulation of PPN, reactions from the control group and neuronal response GPi in PD rats were inhibited. The aver-age discharge frequency was reduced compared to pre-stimulation (P < 0.01). Micro-electrophoresis and BIC Glu excite neurons while microiontophoresis MK-801 and GABA restrain neurons. In the background of micro-electrophoresis BIC’s excitatory effects on neuron, low-frequency electrical stimulation on PPN reduced neuronal firing frequency. And in the background of inhibition effect of micro-electrophoresis MK-801, low-frequency stimulation PPN further restrain neuronal discharge frequency. Conclusion Low frequency electrical stimulation inhibits GPi PPN neuronal activity probably though regulating neurons projecting to the Glu and GABA nerve pathways in GPi neuron.

Objective To study the effect of high frequency stimulation (HFS) in pedunculopontine nucleus (PPN) on the neuronal activities of globus pallidus internus (Gpi) in Parkinson’s disease (PD) model rats, and the mechanisms there-of. Methods Seventy male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into two groups, control group (n=30) and PD model group (n=40). PD rat model was established by the injection of 6-OHDA into substantia nigra pars compacta (SNc) on the right side of the brain with stereotactic technique. Electrophysiological recordings were made in anaesthetized rats to investigate the ef-fects of HFS-PPN on the firing rate of the GPi neurons. Brain microdialysis combined with high-performance liquid chroma-tography was applied to detect glutamate (Glu) andγ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) levels in GPi. Results HFS-PPN caused an excitatory reaction of the majority of neurons recorded in the GPi in PD model group and control group. The mean firing rate of GPi excited neurons was significantly increased (P﹤0.01). The levels of Glu were reduced under HFS-PPN and the levels of GABA were not affected (P>0.05).Conclusion HFS-PPN heightened the electrical activity of GPi neurons and re-duced the level of Glu. These excitatory effects were probably realized by PPN-GPi direct path or other indirect path.

Objective:To determine the basic characteristics and clinical manifestations of hospitalized patients with psoriasis in Hunan, and to provide reasonable reference for the etiology and treatment of psoriasis.
Methods:Totally 190 patients with psoriasis from January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2012 treated in the Department of Dermatology, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Central South University were retrospectively analyzed. The data were analyzed by SPSS17.0.
Results:The ratio of male to female inpatient numbers was 3.13:1, aged was between 40 and 70 years. The most common subtype of psoriasis was psoriasis vulgaris (64.73%), followed by psoriatic erythroderma (18.42%). The distribution of the subtype of psoriasis did not differ by gender. Nineteen patients recalled clearly the cause of proriasis, 5 of which were caused by medicine, and 4 by drinking. Totally 96 cases accompanied with other diseases, 24.21%of which accompanied with cardiovascular system disease.
Conclusion:There is no season difference in the hospitalization of patients with psoriasis. there are more male than female inpatients. Treatment of psoriasis should consider clinical classification, drug adverse reactions, and individual factors for individual treatment.
