3.Follow-up study on endoscopic manifestations of gastroduodenal schistosomiasis
Chinese Journal of Digestive Endoscopy 2001;0(03):-
Objective To explore endoscopic manifestations of gastroduodenal schistosomiasis and analyze its prognosis. Methods Select 26 cases from gastroduodenal schistosomiasis patients who were diagnosed endoscopically and pathologically at random. Then give them periodical follow-up investigations and do prognostic analysis. Results Gastroduodenal schistosomiasis has no specific endoscopic manifestations. Among these 26 cases, there were 6 cases of tumoroid lesion , 11cases of ulcerative lesion and 9 cases of chronic gastritis;totally 7 cases complicated with gastric carcinoma.Pathological study found numerous ova deposited in mucosa and submucosa or necrotic tissues. During the seven years’ follow-up investigations, there were further 6 cases having cancerous change, the total canceration rate of gastroduodenal schistosomiasis cases is 50%. Conclusion Diagnosis of gastroduodenal schistosomiasis should be based on epidemiological investigations, endoscopic and pathological examinations. Prognostic analysis shows that it belongs to precancerous lesion, so timely follow-up diagnosis and treatment should be given.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the clinical efficacy and safty of combined treatment telmisartan plus simvastatin on early diabetic nephropathy. Methods46 patients with early diabetic nephropathy were randomly divided into two groups. Control group ( n = 23 ) received regular insulin therapy, captopril l0mg tid. Study group received telmisartan 80mg qd plus simvastatin 20mg qd on the basis of control group therapy. All patients received 16 weeks treatment. The clinical parameters were measured before and after therapy. ResultsAfter 16 weeks treatment, the urine MAU in both study group and control group were significantly decreased( all P <0. 01 ) ,however, the urine MAU in telmisartan plus simvastatin combination group decreased significantly than control group( P < 0. 01 ). Improvement of lipid level in the study group better than the control group( P <0. 01 ). Kidney function, fasting blood glucose levels and HbAlc had no significant changes before and after treatment. ConclusionTelmisartan plus simvastatin combined treatment was better than the traditional therapy, which can delay the development of early diabetic nephropathy.
5.Reconstructing anterior cruciate ligament in rabbits using autologous tendon combined with artificial ligament
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2007;0(23):-
BACKGROUND: Autologous tendon and artificial tendon are both the important grafts that can reconstruct the ruptured anterior cruciate ligament, but each has their defects and excellents. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the biomechanical change and histological rejection of reconstructing the anterior cruciate ligament of the rabbits with autologous tendon and artificial ligament. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A controlled observation was performed from September 2007 to February 2008 in the Orthopedics Laboratory and the Biological Laboratory of Zhengzhou University (Zhengzhou, Henan, China). MATERIALS: Twenty-eight adult New Zealand rabbits of SPF grade were offered by Zhengzhou University Animal Experimental Center, weighing 2.4-3.1 kg with a mean of 2.8 kg, irrespective of genders. MB66 braid was produced by Smith & Nephew Medical (Shanghai) Limited. METHODS: The tendons of extending toe were harvested in both lower extremities, one tendon was wrapped with artificial ligament, while the other was only processed into the terminal wove dovetail. Anterior cruciate ligament was excised from bilateral knee joints in rabbits through the parapatellar incision, then femoral and tibial bones were drilled to implant the autologous tendon and artificial ligament on one side (serving as combined tendon group), whereas only autologous tendon on the other side (serving as pure tendon group). Both sides were sutured through bone bridge. Every 7 rabbits were killed under anesthesia at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks postoperatively. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Gross observation and histological determination were carried out in the reconstructed anterior cruciate ligament of rabbits. The maximal breaking force of both grafts were detected. RESULTS: At 2 and 4 weeks postoperatively, the cells of reconstructed grafts disappeared and showed necrosis. Inflammatory cells infiltrated between autologous tendon and artificial ligament, there were cells growing from the edge to the center. At 6 weeks postoperatively, the autologous tendon had a little loose and disfiguration. The synovial membrane and cells hyperplasia were obvious. The synovial membrane filled the combined tendon and the infiltrative inflammatory cells reduced. The proliferative cells remarkably trended to the center. At 8 weeks postoperatively, the grafts were mostly substituted by new cells, and the artificial ligament was completely parceled by the synovial membrane, but there were still some gaps; The combined tendon exhibited no loose or disfiguration, the infiltrative inflammatory cells disappeared. The cells in grafts were close to normal cells in anterior cruciate ligament, but fibrocytes arranged in disorder and fibers showed a verticality. Biomechanics test results demonstrated the maximal breaking force of combined tendon was more than that of pure tendon (P
6.A study on the adaptive mechanism of peripheral nerve to gradual limb lengthening: observation on the perineurial barrier and vascular permeability
Chinese Journal of Orthopaedics 1996;0(10):-
Objective To evaluate the effect of limb lengthening on the perineurial barrier and vascular permeability of peripheral nerve. Methods Thirty-two rabbits with limb lengthening of 10% , 20% , 30% and 40% were used in this study; 8 animals were allocated in each group. Sixteen were employed for the electron microscopic(EM) observation and the others for the investigation of perineurial barrier and vascular permeability of the tibial nerves. Results Even if the elongation reached 40% of the original length of the tibia, both the perineurium and inner membrane of capillary was still intact, the perineurial barrier and vascular permeability maintained normal; however, EM examination revealed increase of a large number of vacuoles and the increase of the number of mitochondria in the cell of the perineurial membrane. Conclusion It is the gradual limb lengthing of

Objective To investigate the effect of different PEEP levels on stroke volume variation (SVV) in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) treated with mechanical ventilation for predicting cardiac pre-load and the changes of hemodynamics. Methods Thirty critical patients with ARDS met the new criteria in 2012 set at European Berlin were enrolled in this study with measured values (MV) in EICU from September 2012 to October 2013.The changes in SVV and cardiac output (CO) monitored with Vigileo system were determined at different selected PEEE levels of 5,7,9,11,13,15 mmHg.At the same time,MAP and CVP were measured. Results Variation of PEEP levels led to a significant changes in SVV,CO (P < 0.01).However,there were no significant differences in MAP (P =0.933).Changes of SVV induced by high PEEP showed a S shape rise, but there were no differences between groups PEEP 5 and PEEP 7,and as well as between groups PEEP 13 and PEEP 15 (P <0.05).The changes of CO showed a downtrend decline with the increase in PEEP levels. When PEEP was set at 13 mmHg and higher, the value of SVV denoted pre-load insufficiency. When PEEP was set at 11 mmHg or higher, cardiac output decreased.CVP could not predict the changes of pre-load.Conclusion Increase in PEEP levels can significantly reduce the cardiac pre-load.SVV can be a useful indicator of the changes in cardiac pre-load induced by high PEEP,suggesting fluid replacement necessary in time.

Journal of Third Military Medical University 1983;0(03):-
Transverse fracture was inflicted to the tibia of goats and specially designed external fixator was used for fixation to observe the relationship of different intensity of compres-sive force with fracture-healing.It was found in vitro test that the external fixator possessed less effect of stress protection.X-ray examination revealed that the stronger the compressive force was applied, the later the external callus would appear and the less amount of external callus would form.In the 6th week after fracture, the fracture line became oblierated in cases with mild compression while a transparent line in the external callus could be seen on x-ray films in those cases with heavy compression.Though there was no significant difference of the parameters of torsionmetry among different groups, the strength of the healed fracture with mild compression was nearer to the strength of a normal bone than that with heavy compression.Histo-logical examination revealed that all the bone unions belonged to secondary bone healing and bone callus became less matured along with the increase of compressive force.
