Cancer stem cells are a kind of cancer cell group with the ability of self-renewal and various diferentiation potentials.Recent studies have implicated that they play a significant role in tumor formation, metastasis, resistance to anticancer therapies and cancer recurrenee. Many studies show that microRNAs are involved in the maintenance, growth and behavior of breast cancer stem cells (BCSCs),paving a new way for diagnosis, prognosis and therapy of breast cancer.

Journal of International Oncology 2012;39(7):489-492
The overexpression of P-glycoprotein(P-gp)and its coding gene mdrl is regarded as the classic mechanism of muhidrug resistance(MDR).Recent studies find that pregnane X receptor(PXR)can mediate the expression of P-gp.It is confirmed that PXR can also inhibit apoptosis of tumor cells. Therefore, preventing the activation of PXR specifically may be a new method to prevent MDR.

Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2017;33(z1):71-73
Objective To improve the effectiveness of internship nursing students in infectious diseases by implementing peer teaching method. Methods The nursing students were divided into two groups according to the order of student number. The control group was given the teaching method of the general outline. On the basis of the outline teaching, the experimental group gave counseling and counseling to the students in their professional and psychological aspects. Results There were significant differences between the two groups in terms of the results of the three tests and the theoretical evaluation, and the results of the test group were better than those of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Peer- to- peer learning method can improve the practical effect of surgical nursing students in infectious diseases, and can be popularized in a certain extent.

Global Campaign Against Epilepsy conducted the Demonstration Project to improve epilepsy care in
rural China from 2000 to 2004. The project involved 5 provinces and 2,455 patients with convulsive
epilepsy using phenobarbital monotherapy. Forty percent of the patients were seizure free in one year
and another 30% had their seizures decreased by over half. With the support of the central government,
the project has currently been extended to cover 12 provinces with 11,000 patients. The long-term plan
is to integrate epilepsy management into the existing primary health delivery system of China.

[Objective]To measure adult normal femur specimen in order to obtain accurate femoral resection and match the distal femoral in total knee arthroplasty.[Method](1)Forty-seven adult normal femur specimens of central Chinese were used for taking digital pictures in both anteroposterior and medialateral position.Five angles were measured through drawing lines of fixed point.(2)The exact position of the entry point was defined by the two wires on the specimens.[Result](1)The five angles reflect distal femoral anatomy features on the frontal plane and sagittal plane.(2)The mean value of distance from the entry point to the center of the intercondylar notch was 6.21 mm and the distance from the entry point to the anterior margin of the femoral posterior cruciate ligament(PCL) insertion is found to be 6.7 mm.[Conclusion](1)The distal one-third of femora was found to be outward bowing on frontal plane and forward bowing on Sagittal plane.Especially, the forward bowing is more remarkable than Outward bowing. So,when the position of intramedullary guide stick is decided by distal femoral anatomy, the axis alignments on frontal and Sagittal planes are both important.(2)During total knee afthroplasty the exact position of entry point may be defined by the Center of the intefcondylar notch and femoral PCL insertion.

Objective: To examine the effect of Benapril on atherogenesis and the plaque rupture in rabbits. Methods: Thirty four healthy male New Zealand white rabbits were randomly divided into 4 groups.Group C (control group) was fed normal diet for 10 weeks, group HL fed 1% cholesterol diet, group B fed 1% cholesterol diet and Benapril 5 mg/d.Ten rabbits of plaque rupture group were fed 1% cholesterol diet for 10 weeks with atherosclerosis induced by left carotid iliac damage.Ten weeks after the initiation of the diet,an angioplasty was performed. After angioplasty, the surviving rabbits( n =10) were randomized to receive benapril(5 mg/d,each) supplementation in drinking(B group, n =4) or no treatment(untreated group, n =4). The levels of CEC were measured by morphometrical counts at different periods(the 5th week, the 10th week). Before and 5,10 weeks after experiment, fasting blood samples were collected for serum total cholesterol(TC),high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL C),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL C),and triglyceride(TG) assay. The levels of plasma circulating endothelial cells(CEC) were measured by morphometrical counts and the levels of plasma von Willebrand factor(vWF) were determined by ELISA.After sacrificing the separated, entire aortas were stained with oil red O and then processed for histological examination;planimetry was done with a computer system.Endothelial cells were confined by the presence of Factor Ⅷ related antigen as the specific cell marker. Results: The serum TC,TG,LDL C increased progressively in group B and group HL,but the levels of vWF in group HL were significantly higher than that in group B on the 5th and 10th respetively( P

To examine the effect of benapril on atherogenesis, circulating endothelial cells (CEC), and factor vWF. Twenty four healthy male New Zealand white rabbits were randomly divided into 3 groups. In group C (control group) the rabbits were fed normal rabbit diet for ten weeks, in group AS 1% cholesterol diet was fed, and in group B both 1% cholesterol diet and benapril 5mg/day were fed. Fasting blood samples were collected for the determination of serum total cholesterol (TC), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL c), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL c), and triglyceride (TG) on day 0, 5 and 10 weeks after feeding. The levels of plasma CEC were measured by morphometrical count and the levels of plasma vWF were determined by ELISA. After the animals were sacrificed, aortas were obtained, and they were stained with oil red O. The tissue was sectioned for histological examination. Planimetry was performed with a computer system. Endothelial cells were identified by the presence of factor VIII related antigen, which was the specific marker for endothelial cells. The results showed that the levels of serum Tc, TG, and LDL c were increased progressively in group B and group AS, but the levels of vWF in group AS were significantly higher than that in group B at the 5 th and 10 th weeks respectively ( P

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1983;0(02):-
Objective To observe the histopathological changes in the kidneys with stress reaction under +Gx loads in rhesus monkeys. Methods Nine male Rhesus macaques monkeys were randomly divided into four groups: control group animals were exposed to +1Gx/300s overload, and experimental groups 1, 2 and 3 animals were exposed to +15Gx/200s, +21Gx/165s and +21Gx/140s (3 animals in each group), respectively. Renal tissue was fixed with 10% buffered formaldehyde and paraffin sectioned, and histopathological changes were observed with microscope. Results In the experimental groups, glomerular congestion, and dilation of interstitial vessels with erythrocytic extravasation were found in both kidneys. Obvious cloudy swelling of the epithelial cells was also noted in the renal tubules. The degree of renal damage was significantly correlated with the increase in +Gx loads. There was no obvious change in the control group. Conclusion Overload gravity can induce significant injury to the kidney in the monkeys. There is a significant correlation of the degree of renal damage with the level of +Gx load.

Objective To observe dynamically the expression of insulin-like growth factor(IGF-1)in the brain and liver, and to explore changes in IGF-1 levels. Methods The thread method waa used to establish middle cerebral artery occlusion in rats. The expression of IGF-1 on the ischemic side of the cerebral cortex and in the liver wag observed dynamically using immunohistochemical techniques. Results The number of IGF-1-positive cells increased significantly, peaking on the 3rd day in the cortex and the 7th day in the liver. Conclusion The expression of IGF-1 Wag upregulated in the brain after the experimental cerebral ischemia;peripheral humoral regulation of IGF-1 responded more slowly and recovered to some extent at the 7th day after cerebral ischemia.
