Chinese Journal of General Practitioners 2013;12(8):638-640
Plasma levels of homocysteine (Hcy),folic acid (FA) and Vitamin B12 (VB12) were measured in 120 patients of colon adenomatous polyps and 40 healthy subjects.Plasma Hcy levels in colon adenomatous polyps patients were significantly higher than those in controls[(14.24 ± 0.52) μmol/L vs.(10.93 ± 0.81) μmol/L,P =0.0014)],while plasma FA levels in polyps patients were lower than those in controls [(6.26 ± 0.27) μg/L vs.(10.74 ± 0.85) μg/L,P < 0.0001].There was no difference in plasma VB12 levels between two groups(P =0.7100).The plasma Hcy levels in patients with multiple colon polyps were higher than those with single colon polyps (P =0.0092),while the plasma FA levels demonstrated contrary results (P =0.0047).With the pathological type progression, the plasma Hcy levels were gradually raised, and FA levels gradually decreased.Plasma levels of FA,Hcy and VB12 were not correlated with the location and distribution of polyps. These results suggest that plasma FA and Hcy levels may be related to disease progress in patients with colon adenomatous polyps.

Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery 2001;0(01):-
Objectives To study the effects of anesthesia, head-up position and CO 2 pneumoperitoneum on cardiac autonomic nerve evaluated by heart rate variability (HRV) during laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Methods 20 patients undergoing elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy were anesthetized with balanced anesthesia. Pneumoperitoneum was introduced by inflation of CO 2. Intra-abdominal pressure was maintained at (11~13) mmHg. HRV was measured in supine and head-up tilt (15?~20?) positions while the patients were awake, in the stable state of anesthesia and CO 2 pneumoperitoneum at 10 minute and 20 minute respectively. Power spectral analysis of HRV was conducted on 256-beat R-R interval segments of interpolated heart rate by using the fast Fourier transformation. Total spectral power (TP), low frequency power (LF) and high frequency power (HF) were calculated by integrating the power spectra between (0~0 5) Hz, (0 03~0 15)Hz and ( 0 15~0 35)Hz. Results The change of positions did not significantly influence HRV. Decreases in LF, HF and TP were noted during the maintenance of anesthesia. The power of LF, the normalized unit of LF and LF/HF ratio increased during inflation period. LF/HF increased from 2 15?1 16 to 4 61?2 04 ( q =4 491, P

Objective To compare the effect of spinal anesthesia by using 0.75% ropivacaine or 0.5% bupivacaine in a simulated state of rocking naval vessels, in order to choose an optimal anesthetic agent in a rocking naval vessels at sea. Methods Eighty patients undergoing elective surgery of abdomen or lower limb were randomly divided into 4 groups (n=20). Namely, horizontal level with 0.75% ropivacaine control group (R1), horizontal level with 0.5% bupivacaine control group (B1), simulated rocking with 0.75% ropivacaine group (R2), simulated rocking with 0.5% bupivacaine group (B2). The effect of anesthesia, the changes in hemodynamics and the incidence of relevant side-effects were determined and compared among the four groups. Results The anesthetic level (analgesic level) of group B2 was 2.7 segments higher than that in group B1, and the durations for fixed level was longer than group B1 (P

Chinese Journal of Radiology 2012;46(2):139-142
Objective To explore MRI appearances of malignant mixed mesodermal tumors (MMMT) of the uterus. Methods All 9 patients with MMMT were proved by pathology. MRI characteristics of MMMTs in 9 patients were analyzed retrospectively. Results Of 9 MMMTs,6 were uterus body-based and 3 were cervical-based.Body-based MMMTs tended to be expansive or infiltrative growth with expanded uterus cavity. Cervical-based.MMMTs tended to be exophytic growth without myometrial infiltration. The tumors presented iso- or low signal on T1WI. The body-based MMMTs presented heterogeneously hyper-intense on T2WI ( n =5 ),hemorrhage ( n =1 ),cystic degeneration and necrosis (n =5) were seen within the tumors. Cervical-based MMMTs presented relative hyper-intense signal on T2WI with band or tree-like hypo-intense signal, without hemorrhage and necrosis. Body-based MMMTs were enhanced more obviously than cervical-based MMMTs.Conclusions The growth pattern,MRI signal and enhancement characteristics of cervix and uterus body MMMTs are different. MRI is helpful for the diagnosis of MMMT.
