AIM To explore whether plasma vasoactive substances and neutrophil infiltration make different contribution in cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury and protective effect of triacetylshikimic acid(TSA). METHODSThe rat models of ischemia 90 min and reperfusion 3-48 h were prepared with middle cerebral artery occlusion. TSA 50-200 mg·kg-1 were given (ig) immediately and 60 min again after the onset of ische- mia. Serotonin and thromboxane B2 (TXB2) concentrations in plasma were detected by fluorescence spectrophotometry and radioimmunoassay respectively. Myeloperoxidase(MPO) activity in brain tissue was quantified by chemical analysis. RESULTS At 3-24 h after reperfusion, the concentrations of plasmic serotonin, TXB2, and brain MPO activity increased obviously in a time-dependent manner. At 48 h after reperfusion, the concentrations of serotonin and TXB2 decreased to the same level of sham. Nevertheless, brain MPO activity remained more elevated than the contralateral cortex. At 24 h after reperfusion, TSA (100 and 200 mg·kg-1) was shown to possess the ability to inhibit the increased plasmic serotonin, TXB2 concentrations, and brain MPO activity induced by focal cerebral ischemia-reperfusion. CONCLUSION Vasoactive substances in plasma and MPO activity in brain tissue show different time courses during focal cerebral ischemia-reperfusion and make different contribution to brain damage. TSA is effective to protect the ischemic brain tissue from ischemia-reperfusion injury.

Objective To make sciatic nerve traction injury models of rabbit , in order to prospectively evaluate possibility and accuracy of diffusion tensor tracking (DTT) in sciatic nerve injures. Methods The right sciatic nerves of 32 New Zealand white rabbits were selected for traction injury , and the left sciatic nerves were the sham operation side. DTI scan was performed before and after the operation on 1st day , 3rd day, and 1 week, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8th week respectively, and DTT was reconstructed. Then the length of reconstructed fiber tracts and fiber density index were calculated. After the MRI scan , the sciatic nerve was removed to perform pathologic examination at different time points. Results The difference of the length of reconstructed fiber tracts between nerve traction injury and sham operation side was significant at 1 day~2weeks after operation (P<0.05), while the difference was not significant at 3~8 weeks. The fiber density index of nerve traction injury and sham operation side was significantly different at 1 day~8 weeks(P<0.05). 1day after operation, myelin sheath of traction portion was obviously twisting. 3 days after operation , a large amount of myelin sheath broke down. 2 weeks after operation , axon, myelin sheath degeneration and regeneration coexisted at the same time. 8 weeks after operation , nerve fibers regenerated and restored to normal structure. Conclusion The length time curve and density index-time curve of nerve traction injury are consistent with the changes of pathology , which can be used as a supplementary method to evaluate the degeneration and regeneration in nerve injury.

BACKGROUND:Magnetic resonance diffusion tensor imaging can display the dispersion changes of peripheral nerve injury and be used to conduct quantitative research, so it has good application prospects in displaying the nerve injury and regeneration. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the possibility of magnetic resonance diffusion tensor imaging of rabbit acute sciatic nerve traction injury, and to figure out the value of diffusion tensor parameters in the diagnosis of peripheral nerve injuries and to reveal the pathologic basis. METHODS:The right hind limb sciatic nerves of 32 New Zealand white rabbits were selected to make the regeneration and repair models, the left hind limb nerves as the sham-operation side. Diffusion tensor imaging examination of sciatic nerves were performed at 1 and 3 days, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8 weeks after operation with 1.5 T MRI. Fractional anisotropy and apparent diffusion coefficient were measured through diffusion tensor tracing
reconstruction, and then the pathological examination was performed. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Diffusion tensor imaging revealed only the proximal nerve, injured nerve as wel as the middle of the distal nerve at 1 day after traction injury. At 1 week, the nerve of distal portion appeared thinner and shorter fiber bundle. At 2-6 weeks after operation, the fiber bundle was increased and thickened. At 8 weeks after operation, the distal nerve fibers had nearly restored to the level before injury. There was significant difference in the fractional anisotropy value of traction portion and distal portions between traction injury and sham-operation group at 1 day-8 weeks after operation (P<0.05). While there was significant difference in the fractional anisotropy value of proximal traction portion between traction injury and sham-operation group 1 day-1 week after operation (P<0.05). There were no significant differences in the apparent diffusion coefficient values between traction injury and sham-operation group at 1 day-8 weeks after operation. Fal of fractional anisotropy value in the early stage of nerve traction injury was the result of myelin sheath broke down and axonal disintegrated;recovery of fractional anisotropy value resulted from myelin sheath proliferated and myelin sheath grew slowly to mature. Diffusion tensor tracing can show the abnormal change of the sciatic nerve with traction injury in rabbit clearly and early, and the measurement of fractional anisotropy value can be used as the sensitive method to monitor the degeneration and regeneration after nerve traction injury.

In order to investigate the chemical constituents from the fraction with cardiovascular activtiy of Chrysanthemum indicum, the isolation and purification of compounds from this active fraction were performed, and the chemical structures were elucidated by spectral analysis and comparison of the spectral data with those reported in the literature. As a result, twelve compounds were obtained and identified as (2S) -eriodictyol-7-O-beta-D-glucuronide (1), (2S) -eriodictyol-7-O-beta-D-glucoside (2), (2S) -hesperetin-7-O-beta-D-glucuronide (3), luteolin-7-O-beta-D-glucoside (4), luteolin-7-O-beta-D-glucuronide (5), diosmetin-7-O-beta-D-glucuronide (6), quercetin -7-O-beta-D-glucoside (7), (2S)-eriodict-dicaffeoylquinate (8), 3, 5-dicaffeoylquinic acid(9), 3, 5-cis-dicaffeoylquinic acid (10), 1, 5-dicaffeoylquinic acid (11), and 1, 3-dicaffeoylquinic acid (12). The above result indicated that flavonoids were the ma-dicaffeoylquinate (8), 3, 5-dicaffeoylquinic acid (9), 3, 5-cis-dicaffeoylquinic acid (10), 1, 5-dicaffeoylquinic acid (11), and 1, 3-dicaffeoylquinic acid (12). The above result indicated that flavonoids were the major components of the active fraction. Compounds 2, 3, 7, 8 and 10 were obtained from this genus for the first time, and compounds 5, 6, 9, 11, and 12 were first isolated from C. indicum.

Although widely studied, the natural diversity of the hard tick is not well known. In this study, we collected 194 sequences from 67 species, covering 7 genera of hard tick. The 5′ region of the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1 region (586 bp) has been used to investigate intra- and inter-species variation and the phylogenetic tree of neighbor joining method has been used for assessment. As a result, by comparing the K2P-distance of intra- and interspecies, 30 samples (15.2%) shown that interspecies distance was larger than the minimum interspecfic distance. From the phylogenetic analysis, 86.8% (49) of the species were identified correctly at the genus level. On deeper analysis on these species suggested the possibility of presence cryptic species. Therefore, further work is required to delineate species boundaries and to develop a more complete understanding of hard tick diversity over larger scale.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the impact of the regeneration of interstitial cell of Cajal (ICC) on the conduction of slow wave and gastric emptying in rats undergoing Roux-en-Y gastrojejunostomy.
METHODSTwenty male SD rats were randomly divided into experimental group and control group. The experimental group consisted of ten rats undergoing Roux-en-Y gastrojejunostomy. The control group only underwent pyloric transection and anastomosis. Gastric scintigraphy was performed in the two groups respectively to measure the half time of gastric emptying (t1/2) at sixteen weeks after the surgical manipulations, and then the myoelectrical activities near the gastrojejunal anastomosis were recorded. The study also observed the regeneration of ICC by the electron microscopy. The data of the 2 groups was compared by t test.
RESULTSIn the sixteenth postoperative week, the t1/2 was (23.5 ± 4.5) minutes for rats in the Roux-en-Y group and (10.2 ± 2.3) minutes for those in the control group, indicating delayed gastric emptying in the Roux-en-Y group (t=7.978, P=0.000), accompanied with the abnormal myoelectrical activities near the gastrojejunal anastomosis. The morphological detection showed that ICC near the gastrojejunal anastomosis regenerated and reconstructed their network in the rats of the experimental group.
CONCLUSIONThe abnormal myoelectrical activities near the gastrojejunal anastomosis, basing on the regeneration and reconstruction of ICC, may make a significant delay on the gastric emptying.

Objective:To study the correlation between liver imaging reporting and data system (LI-RADS) category with tumor differentiation, Ki67 index, microvascular infiltration, and predictive prognosis in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).Methods:We retrospectively analyzed the clinical and radiological data of 178 patients with HCC who were confirmed by histopathological studies after liver resection between January 2015 and September 2020 at Lishui Central Hospital and Lishui People’s Hospital. There were 156 males and 22 females, with age of (57±10) years old. These patients were assessed for LI-RADS categories according to the 2018 version of LI-RADS, and they were divided into 4 groups according to the assessment results: 12 patients with LI-RADS-3 (the LI-RADS-3 group); 26 patients with LI-RADS-4 (the LI-RADS-4 group); 102 patients with LI-RADS-5 (the LI-RADS-5 group); and 38 patients with LI-RADS-M (the LI-RADS-M group). The patients' general information, tumor markers, pathology and other clinical data were recorded. Correlation analysis between the LI-RADS category with pathology was performed by the Kendall's tau-b test. Survival analysis between groups was performed by the Kaplan-Meier analysis. The Cox regression risk model was used to analyze the relationship between these variables with the risk of death. Results:The Kendall's tau-b test showed that LI-RADS category was positively correlated with the degree of tumor differentiation ( t=0.204, P=0.002), but not with microvascular infiltration and Ki 67 index ( P>0.05). All patients were followed up for 4.2 to 84.2 months (median follow-up 36.3 months). By the end of follow-up, 31 patients had died and 147 patients were alive. The cumulative 1-year and 3-year survival rates of the LI-RADS-5 group were 97% and 90% respectively, which were significantly higher than those in the LI-RADS-M group (81% and 63%), and the LI-RADS-4 group (96% and 81%), ( P<0.05). The cumulative 1-year and 3-year survival rates of patients in the LI-RADS-3 group were 100% and 67% respectively, and there was no statistically significant difference with the LI-RADS-5 group ( P>0.05). The Cox multivariate regression analysis showed that tumor glycoantigen 199 (>50 μl/ml) to be an independent influencing factor in survival of HCC patients ( HR=0.43, 95% CI: 0.24-0.76, P=0.004). Conclusion:The LI-RADS category of HCC was positively correlated with the degree of tumor differentiation, and patients with HCC meeting the LI-RADS-5 criteria had relatively better prognosis.
